if you're on the fence about joining, probably got X'd. Let me just share. I've been going for about five years, I think. But it probably took me nine months to join initially because I was on the fence to and my concern at the time was obviously it was new, so I wouldn't know what I was doing. Didn't really understand the format Or if it would be a good learning environment, of course, that ul...

    When hitting a straight punch with the knuckles you also reach a few centimeters farther then with your palms. Consider that when assessing your reach.

    I also always use knee pads. I don't mind scraping my knees a bit in a real situation, but kneeing a pad for a few minutes straight will start to hurt.

    I'm a 5'4" small female and I prefer being paired with larger men because its good practice. I also tend to go harder than any of the other "small females" in the class, and I don't hold back with them which results in me potentially hurting them, or interrupting the move to apologize.

    The only thing i dont like in this video is knife defence with control, it just wont work with a desperate agresor, you should think about other solutions

    is krav maga a good idea if one has had a past shoulder dislocation?

    • @kravmagaxd4314
      @kravmagaxd4314 6 років тому

      Well I wouldn't want you to get hurt. However,,, will an attacker decide not to attack you because of your hurt shoulder? I would suggest trying out a few classes and working AROUND your shoulder and not through the pain :) I'm sure you will be able to manage!

    Kicking defense is not very good ... They should change their moves to more Muay Thai that has deflections and parries and holds. Blocking a kick with your forearm could result in a broken ARM

    • @kravmagaxd4314
      @kravmagaxd4314 6 років тому

      Hi David, thanks for your input. To address what you're saying I would agree. Hands Vs. Feet is not a favorable situation! However... in this video they are demoing curriculum that is build of on natural reaction which in this case is hands going down to counter a kick. So if we do this, how do make this reactions better? That is how this defense is formed, by redirecting the foot instead of trying to stop it directly, moving out of the channel, and counter attacking. Since we teach situational defenses, we have to address the "not ready" possibilities. If we are more ready and can better understand the threat, then using Feet vs Feet would be more ideal, which is covered in level 4. This video is level 1-3 of the KMG curriculum.

    KRav MAGA Global has similar roots to Krav Maga World Wide. You can see the clear connections. Some of the European Krav through is made up nonsense with zero connection to anything

    • @kravmagaxd4314
      @kravmagaxd4314 6 років тому

      Hi David, thanks fro the observation. In fact, I used to by KMW instructors, then IKMF, and now Krav Maga Global. After training with hundreds of schools and doing a lot of research. I would argue that Krav Maga Word Wide is in fact behind on the updates for Krav Maga. Eyal Yanilov who is head instructor of KMG, does an amazing job at updating and innovating Krav Maga with Imi's principles. In fact, if you purchases Imi's books, Eyal co-authored them. I enjoy learning from the guy who was Imi's right hand man in developing the system then an American that took the techies he learned from both of them and ran the usa, then sued his instructors to stop them from coming to the states to spread "real" Krav Maga. If you don't believe, go to a KMG training. I think you will be surprised.

    Pls answer can I use MMA gloves to for Krav maga ?

    •  5 років тому

      In my KM club we use the thicker MMA gloves. They're more padded than regular MMA gloves (mine are 16oz) so they're safer to use when training at full force, but still allow for grappling since the hands are open.

    • @kravmagaxd4314
      @kravmagaxd4314 5 років тому

      Thanks for answering! It's user preference here. We ask all "newbies" to train with full covered 16oz gloves to avoid injuries while learning technique but love using fingerless gloves in the intermediate classes!

    Damn, that made virtually every shitty movie/series even shittier. Another method is to rotate your arms outward while moving your wrists outward, bit harder, however if space is constrained it will do just fine.
