A channel of us desk jockeys getting out from behind our desks, trying to get our dogs out, having adventures, and making fun of ourselves.
Whack-a-Chukar S1 E6
An action filled day in a new location with Adam, Jake, and the devil dog (Cash). This day confirmed we have some major shooting practice to do and some steadiness training required, but somehow, we still managed to connect with the birds. As well as a little reminder to know where your hunting buddy is...

Adam getting to visit family and sitting in with his brother on a late season Doe hunt. Music was added over the top because of the amount of BS'ing that was occurring.

Mountain quail search with Cash and daughter. No luck but we had a good daddy daughter day.
Fantastic duo
Awesome they are great dogs Adam's dog is coming along very nice. We can't wait for the upcoming chukar season.
I have a 3 month old...its interesting 😂 got her first swim in today😎 she's gonna be a great dog!
Wow great video! I’m a Reno resident, but very seriously considering getting a CA license this season after seeing the number of birds and the terrain in this video. The shooting is cracking me up though 😂 who knows if I could do any better, although I think I would 😂. Awesome channel guys!
Glad you liked it. This trip was awesome. It was the most birds I have seen in years it was an epic day. We laugh at ourselves all trip long. We should have limited out about 45 minutes in but we couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. We had a mixed season but it was a good year. I think next year will be good also. so get a CA license if you feel like it. But I have a hard time recommending it to anyone. Cost -vs- quality.
@@DeskJockeyOutdoors I hear you, it’s even more of a cost for non-residents, but I keep thinking about how there is a lot more opportunities for other upland birds like Turkey, mountain quail, and sooty grouse too. I still don’t know where to begin with identifying public land yet though, and I don’t think I will be purchasing On X because of the amount of data it collects across platforms. Looking forward to the videos you guys put out next season!
@@joshuamyers34we hunted chukar in CA and OR this year I have a NV license due to putting in for big game, but it wasn't in the cards to head your way this year. We already have plans to hunt more next year so we will throw out our less than awesome footage 😂 we run OnX because we hunt all over and it's really nice to have. If you want to jump all over then I recommend it. But that extreme Northeast corner of CA it isn't necessary. One thing to keep in mind here is you have to use LEAD FREE shot and you have to put the plug in your gun to make it a 3 shooter. Unless you are like Adam and shoot 2 at a time 😂.
Terrible, shooting worst I’ve ever seen
Yep! We just go out for fun. Thanks for watching!
Very cool video brother , thank God we still have few birds left in California, 😂, keep it up and God bless
We left lots up there! Only a few birds are harmed in the making of our videos. LOL
I left few birds as well this year 😂 , last day of the season they were everywhere for some reason, can’t wait till October again , Thank you 🙏🏼, God bless
We are counting the days as well. God Speed to you
You need some time at the skeet range boys! 😂
We will be doing it this summer! Thanks for watching!
That looks fun! The devil dog knows what he's doing.
He's learning. He's actually living up to his nickname as I'm tying this.
Thanks guys!! It was one of the funner days chukar hunting i have had in a long time. Lobby for Adam to get a 3 shooter!
19:30 need that semi-auto! I hunt with a O/U 90% of the season but when the Chukar trips start I need all the capacity I can get!
I hear it from Jake all the time.😂
Great hunt! And a ton of birds too!
Yeah! it was an awesome day to be out there. if we could have shot straighter then we would have been done in about 1 hour. Thanks for watching
What a haul guys. That was a lot of birds
We should have been limited out.😂
I haven't seen a PudelPointer in the field since the late 70 s Nice dog. Besides upland, does it hunt waterfowl? I am looking for a new multipurpose dog in the next year or so, thank you
He's a good dog. Super loving to the family besides being clumsy. I'm definitely going to be working on steadiness in this off-season. He will put on 15 to 20 miles before he starts slowing. Dog toys dont last long. My kids stuffed animal collection is constantly being replaced. I haven't had him out waterfowl hunting.
Great job Buddy!
Northeastern corner. Its super rugged and fun. Thanks for watching.
Where in California is this? Looks wild 😮
I can't believe how different the valley quail habitat is there from from Idaho. Pretty landscape
If crappy shooting and low quality camera work is your thing then you will always have a friend over at strugglin outdoors. Nice work fellas
We just suck! I haven't hunted chukar in 25ish years. And this trip was my first ever with a camera. We are just out having fun and want to share our adventures and our stupidity. We want to show that we have no shame hahaha. Thanks for watching!
Man, this looks fun. Good editing!
Thanks buddy. It's all Adam! I just shoot the D- footage!
Cool video seems like the HL area. But alot of it looks the same, this is my backyard! What do you guys use to record
@@jachzones216We use a GoPro Hero 9 and a GoPro Hero 12 Black mounted on head bands and on this video mine was on a clip on my hat bill. I've since changed to a head band and Adam uses GoPro editing and another program I don't know what that is. Thanks for watching
Just hate the bearded German dog fad.
Ouch...oh wait, funny enough I agree. The more fad it is the less experienced and responsible breeders there are. It's a shame when they start getting bred for fad purposes instead of working. Did months of research before I went with a pudelpointer from a particular breeder. Stick with experienced hunting/versatile dog breeders and avoid the pop ups. You were probably just trolling but you brought up a great point.😂
@DeskJockeyOutdoors not a troll. I have trained a lot of griffon. I'm not a fan of that strain. I've only heard good things about pudlepointers. Bob faris has been an acquaintance of my wife through the training world. I'm a Brittany enthusiast
@g.j.m.1301 That's awesome. Great to meet you. I'm newer to the game but have gotten some great input from our local NAVDHA chapter. Glad you weren't a troll. 😉
Beautiful country 😀
We love it out there.
