Nice video. I just started working on adding my glider rating in the US to my Private Pilot cert and I was using X-Plane, but now Condor and it greatly helped with my first glider lesson. Even as an experienced pilot the glider is different and the VR in gliding prepared me for those differences.
Na filmie widać wersję 2 Condora? można narzekać na ciągle kiepską grafikę w Condorze 3 ale jednak jest zmiana na lepsze.
Does the TP properties altitude - m in this case - change to feet if Imperial Units or Australian Units is selected?
You demonstrate an area with no activity which moves and overlaps the blue area. One must be priority; is the first one you make that becomes priority? i.e., when the 'no activity' area starts to overlap the 'blue area', it stays with the blue activity, since it was set first?
Just saw the answer at the end - average of the two... disregard.
So no Freeflying ie choose an airfield and go Fly? You have to set up a task of some sort first? Thanks Laurie
you can just select a take off point and go free flying. This video just shows how to set a task.
@ Thanks I will try doing this.
Dzięki Witek za tutorial. W końcu będę coś widział na VR :) Pozdrawiam AJA
Any specific PC recommendations for Condor 2/3 in VR?
Hello! I am using lk8000 now for more than 14 years. First i used a pda. Windows based. Therefore no problems with finding various files and put into the right places. But now i am using a one+5 phone that i am not using as my personal phone anymore. However i cannot find the directory where i should put airspace and waypoints. I cant be the only one with that problem i think. I wonder i you could make a video how to get your phone up running with the correct map files and terrain files and waypoints and also airspace. Please! LK8000 is the best program for gliding, but lately a problem have occurred. And that is probably something to do with the phone architecture. Anyway if you can troubleshoot this problem i will be very happy. Regards Jesper Ventus 2 T
Thx soo much Witold to spend time for us. Also as I am colour blind this helps me a lot.
Well I've go the LX9070 screens done and have managed to test them in VR. Still having an issue though where the LX9070 refuses to move the navaid display on to TP1 (unlike the default which works OK but the naviad screen only says 'TP1' instead of the TP name, but I guess that's its default). SO it still show start point name and bearing to TP still shows the start location even though I've started on task. On the limited testing I've managed to do so far it does seem to sort itself out though once TP1 has been turned, when it then moves on to the TP2 name and bearing to target. Another strange thing I've noticed is that I save the flight as a Replay, the replay shows the Condor default navaid and not the LX9070 navaid that I actually used. If anyone reading this has any suggestions for a fix I'm listening! I'm wondering if the Condor 3 people have a bit of debugging yet to do in integrating the LX9070 into the flightsim. I tried out the weather generator also and that behaves a bit weirdly, with an overdeveloping cloud appearing and rushing at me in the plane only to evaporate into nothing within a matter of seconds. Quite spooky in VR and of course not realistic. Hopefully they'll get that refined.
After crossing the start line when start is open and at the correct altitude you have to confirm on the LX that you started the task. Then It will switch to navigation towards TP1.
@@VirtualWRWGlides Ah! That's fantastic. If I'm in VR and can't easily use a keyboard or mouse, I'm guessing there's a function I can assign to a button on the joystick to do that? Thanks as ever for such a quick and helpful reply 👍 Edit: I've now tried every key on the keyboard but none seem to confirm to the LX that I've started on task even though Condor 3 says I have. Will keep trying as I'm obviously missing something simple!
@@mikeonb4c by default the 'confirm' button is 5 on the num pad. please have a look at the condor manual...
@VirtualWRWGlides Thanks and you've been a great help. Oh dear, I didn't know there was a manual. I must have missed that. I tried a Help option in Condor I think but that just brought up an FAQ web page and a support email address. Is the manual somewhere on condorsoaring? Also, I'm sure I tried the Num 5 key. It popped up a menu on the LX that included START but I didn't know how I could scroll down to that option and select it, especially in VR 🤔

Is it possible to use the AHRS that is built in to the lx9070 i would like to put one at the bottom of the thermal page but it just shows a black box "AHRS NOT ENABLED" and i did check it was on in the settings page
I think AHRS is not supported in Condor LXsim
Brilliant Tutorial, thank you! KF1 here...! May I ask, what control assignment have you created to move around the LX screens in Condor when flying in VR? I currently have a T16000 FCS joystick and an additional 8 key button pad, which controls the keyboard numbers 1-8, which gave me plenty of functionality in Condor 2. I have initially set up Condor 3 so that the Hat switch is the "LX joystick", and I've programmed the 4 other joystick buttons to be OK, Cancel and scroll Left/Right through the Task pages... What else am I missing, as this does not allow me to edit or change anything in flight, or pan the map up/down/left/right? Thanks again, and also for the warm up tasks!
That should allow you to do most of the stuff. You can also switch an autopilot alt-tab to lx and use your mouse to do more advanced stuff like panning but to be honest, that shouldn't be necessary during the flight. There is usually not enough time and no need to do this. I hardly ever pan my map on a glide computer. Just set up your profile so you have everything you need, and the simpler it is, the better... Concentrate on decision-making rather than playing with a complicated glide computer during flight. Advanced glide computer options are not really that helpful :)
@VirtualWRWGlides thank you. Yes, I agree, simpler the better! I flew my first C3 tasks on Sunday and found myself squinting at the screen to read the tiny info boxes and endlessly toggling the display to find the relevant info, rather than concentrating on flying! The old C2 PDA had poor resolution and much of the information needed on the map was just out of view... I know the LX will be a vast improvement once I get my head around it!
Hi. I've managed to create 2 screens for a personalised LX9070 setup. I can't work out though how to make them the default when I load Condor 3 and want to fly a task. I have ticked the box in Condor 3 setup to tell it to use the LX9070. I have also loaded the LX9070 using the desktop icon that appeared when I installed Condor 3. Bit I can't see where I might select my new LX9070 profile there either. If you or anyone reading this could help I'd be really grateful and thanks.
Use the right top knob on the LX to get to the settings screen. Click on Profiles and Pilots. Select your profile from the files on SD card. Of course, you must first save your profile in the SDcard folder as I explained in the video
@@witorwitor Worked perfectly and thank you so much. Condor 3 is not great on documentation to help the newcomer!
Excellent Tutorial. Just in time.
Bardzo przydatne przynajmniej dla mnie, Gratuluję
Great video and thank you. I'm brand new to C3 and LX. Will I be able to assign (2) buttons on my joystick to move through the different screens?
Yes
@witorwitor Fantastic and thank you for such a quick reply. I'll start creating my screens tomorrow 👍
Thank you for taking the time to make this fantastic video. I had a look at the manual on the LK9070 and decided it was way to hard and complicated so was just going to use Standard Condor 3 PDA screen but now that you have done this great video you have shown us that it’s really not so bad so I will definitely be using the LX9060 in Condor Soaring Simulator 3. Cheers RED.
How am I going to win any races now... What have I done... :)
I really like your videos. I realize they take a lot of time to produce but it's so appreciated. I will watch this video later, Is it possible for you to share your final Profile? I really like the large text boxes. Thanks from Montana!
thank you for your kind words. In the video I said that I do not yet have a profile. This video is supposed to be a fishing rod rather than the fish :) Believe me, you will never be happy with a profile made by someone else. If you want something that suits your needs the best way is to make it yourself, which I hope this video will help you to do. Stay tuned I have more LX tips and tricks planned for the future :)
@@VirtualWRWGlides Guess I should have watched the video before commenting. BTW, in another video you had asked for suggestions. Flat land thermal soaring. Just go out and fly and talk to us like do would be great.
A question, i have two times "elevation" , how to delete one of them?
click on it in LXStyler to select and then press 'del' on your keyboard...
Good Morning from Germany. Thank you very, very much for your video and explanation. This is what i and i think a lot of other Condor pilots need. I tried this fu.... LX all the Day yesterday and never gives me that, what i want. If you remenber, Hello Pilots, thats my greetings in races. Thank you very much for this
I understand how you feel :) That's why I made this video.
One question, do all these same functions come with the lx9070 that comes with the condor xc? I have never used it but I have to learn about it when I buy it.
Not all, but LX9070 that C3 comes with has some other excellent features. I am planning a video on how to create a LX custom profile. Stay tuned!
@@VirtualWRWGlides Great Witold, thank you very much, and it would be great if you could do that tutorial of the Lx of the condor. Cheers! EAZ
Very good tutorial witold thank you very much! . EAZ
Very thank you for this video. I think I will wait for some patches. Really like the dynamic weather feature
We already had a few flights with the version which was released and many with beta versions. The sim works well. Patches will not change much :)
What a great way to pass the time while the C3 landscapes file is downloading! This is a really excellent and helpful explanation of the new setup features. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind comment.
Very informative. Thanks. How do you set up a convergence? Do you have two different weather zones moving towards each other?
set streeting to high and set reasonable wind. Having to zones with the wind towards each other should also work but we need to experiment a bit to be sure :)
Interesting game and video. The voice volume is really low, tho
I will try to speak louder in the future.
