let's face it, David Lee Roth is not a great singer, search any live Van Halen performance with Roth in it, the guy cannot sing live to save his life, he is 100% studio tricks overdubs what not, he talks his way through songs, got lucky he found Eddy VH an outstanding guitar player and Michael Anthony with his distinctive harmonies. Other than SkyScrapper he has not done anything relevant, Nothing but useless noise. His persona is so annoying like he's always high on coke. I've seen hundreds of live well well-known acts and hands down Boston circa 1991 DLR at Avalon Club by Fenway park in support of the album A little .....the worst concert in my life by a high-profile rocker

too be fair NYT wouldn't have like Dirty Harry as well. To me this is somewhat a spin off of that. The lead actor was in the 2nd movie I think. There was a repeating "Hawk" figure as well execept he played a different actor in each movie. Yah. There is that "camp" wild wild west feel. NYT being more liberal isn't about that. Plus Spenser would have already been at the end of the Harry series. So that content would have already been dated for that time. This is definitely not a liberal show. And that can be refreshing to go back too.

Looking at the pictures and video cuts in the music video for this song brought back many memories for me, I started working on the road with the original band six weeks after “First Time” was released as a single. I finished my time with them at the end of the “4” tour. I literally “Been there, done that” and still have the T shirts to prove it!

.....while I can certainly see where SOME listeners might arrive at such a perspective, for me ANY evocation of THAT decade is INCIDENTAL; to THESE ears, this album fits PERFECTLY next to Shock Denial Anger Acceptance, Venus In Overdrive and Songs For The End Of The World - MUCH more MUSCULAR tone and sonic density - admittedly a BIG part of WHY it AVOIDS what's a HIGHLY-dismissable, THIN (even remastered mixes, IF to a LESSER extent) ungratifying 'Eighties' sound; I definitely prefer his first four albums (Beginnings, Comic Book Heroes, Mission: Magic & Wait For Night - SAME reasons as that for the 21st-century output, including Karma.....)

great movie, i took my sisters to watch it and they were thrown off by the second ending a bit(it was too much for them). but two days later they were exited to say they liked it and would like to see it again haha I guess it takes a while to rid of the shock factor

Lucinda Williams wrote "Protection" and with all due respect to Colin James and Lucinda's version here, her original tune where she sings with her own band is far superior. Her vocals here are just not that good compared to her original studio track. My favorite album of his 👋. I happened to be in Vancouver in 1983. He was in 1 area. I was in other areas. Unfortunately, I do not remember meeting him or any other famous musician over there. 😖

To this day my favourite Rush album. The songwriting matured greatly during the 80's and there's not a weak track on this one.

The thing about overproduction is a cliché phrase often repeated among UA-camrs who give their opinion about this album and Press of '86, personally it is music that Paul was creating and it is a super exciting stage for him and for those who got hooked on that decade (80's) McCartney Throughout his catalog he has always demonstrated his audacity to compose and vary so as not to repeat himself.

It's an uninspired, boring and unremarkable song. Retirement is long overdue for these guys. You gotta know when to stop.

While listening to... "Made in Japan" in my car Yesterday 7/6/24 a man Passed by, I asked Him, "Have you ever heard of a Band called Deep Purple! He replied with a big smile, "Yeah". It was the Lead Singer, from the 1970's.... I mean, it was Him.....as if he never aged. It was actually HIM!!!!! He passed like a Highway Star.👀No Joke! It's Time......

Love these 2 albums- how do the remastered versions differ from the originals? I’ve noticed that with the original digital versions, I need to crank the volume to get them to an optimal listening level- which isn’t really all that high, actually.. are the remastered versions at least a little punchier? I dunno.... when "Just like 73" popped up in my YT video feed and I saw who the band was, I thought the song would just be a nostalgic throwback to the DL "clean and technical processed hard rock" sound of the 80s, something I loved at the time but I'm simply not into at the moment, Good for a listen or two, but that's it. I was very pleasantly surprised that it actually wasn't! This track grabs you from the opening note and it CRANKS with raw energy. Must've played it a dozen times already and will probably play it a dozen more times before the day finishes.

Star Trek movies don't make much money.

Honestly? Fan since ‘84 so yeah, I’m old. On my third listen through it I found it unremarkable. It’s another case of acknowledging their roots? Again? Really? It breaks my heart to admit it but I was disappointed. Well that sucks when you consider the momentum that the Diamond Star Halos album achieved. I mean come on, when Take What You Want was released I played the hell out of it. That opening riff was/is a monster. That song sounded like it had a purpose, but Born In ‘73? It sounds phoned in, lazy with a concept that they’ve already beaten like a dead horse. I love this band, I really do and I hope this will eventually grow on me. I didn’t feel a thing and that bothers me.
