Glad I came across your channel. Awesome work! Can you share the grit that you use? I have the same floors in my house.
Van or trailer? For your equipment?
I pull a trailer
@jobart1028 ty
Amazing results. I wish i could do this myself but it looks tedious and time consuming
It definitely can be!
5/16 real thick
Thin! Compared to normal 3/4
The job came out perfect How do you like the Loba easy finish it’s almost like Bona mega huh ? There both pretty good !

Got any tips for removing shellac from hardwood floors? I'm currently trying to sand some down but it seems like the stuff just gunks up the sandpaper like crazy.
All I can recommend is lower grit sand paper. I’ve dropped as low as 18 grit
@@jobart1028 Thanks I'll keep at it and try going lower, I'm bound to get to the bottom of the stuff sooner or later.
What do you using what is the liquid things name?
Bona Dri-Fast Sealer
Surprised u don't buff on every coat. Even just a quick pass w some dead gold tape.
Haven’t really needed to, not a bad idea though
That angled sand makes it too flat and fake looking to me. Slight angle is ok but I like so.e of the ungilation which makes it look like real wood.
I’m not a fan either. I usually get hate for not sanding on a 45
Looks great
Thank you!
The amount of videos I've seen people always redoing already nice floors
This floor had lots of issues. It wasn’t flat, the finishing was peeling off, and the stain was worn through. Time to refinish!
I noticed that a cut in pad was not used during sealer/top coat application. Would you recommend a DIYer use a cut in pad? or would just the Tbar suffice ? I'm in the middle of redoing my floors. All sanding is completed I'll be applying a sealer next. Thanks !
Yes, for a DIY’r use a cut in pad. I don’t use one but I’m great with the Tbar, I’ve been using it 15 years. For a first go, the cut in pad will be safer and better
Thanks for the reply brother. I went ahead and used the cut in pad for my first room assuming your Tbar proficiency was very high and you were making it look too easy lol. Glad I used the pad haha. Thanks again, wish me luck.
In about 2 years all that filler is gonna crack out and be a nightmare ..only do that on new installs never on a resand
Agreed. Sometimes they still want it done
Nice job
Thx 🙏
I'm curious about the bottom side of the flooring. Was it treated prior to install, and if so, how do you know if the underpart is still good? Never dealt with real wood flooring before, so I'm genuinely curious.
It usually just stays raw, always installed over a moisture barrier. Whether that be a concrete sealer or a tar paper. Other than that no treatment necessary
Scrape the tar off before u sand
Didn’t really need to, it sanded easily
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you!
Nice, that's what I have in my house, red oak and lots of not holes with the same finish. Looks nice, great job.
Thank you! Definitely made to last!
Looks great!! I do have a question. If you did not add sealer and only put on the poly how would the floor look? Would you still get that high glossy finish ?
It only looks super glossy because it’s wet, it will actually dry to a nice dull Satin. If I skipped that sealer and just started applying water based finishes it would just turn out much lighter and not as rich colors
💪🏽💪🏽👌🏼🙏🏽
🔥🔥🔥
Our bamboo floor color is very dark, can we make it lighter like that color?
Yes. Although it’s a difficult sand
What are the complete steps of refinishing a floor? I'm attempting to do my floors. Please respond.
I have a full step by step video on the channel. It’s like 20 mins long and describes every step of the way
@@jobart1028 ok. Thank you.
@@jobart1028 can you link the video? I'm having a hard time finding the 20 min video. I looked over your whole channel.
Very good explanation on the steps names of the machines and finishing coatings. If that's such a thing.
Yes! and Thank you!
Very good job!
Thank you!!
I refinish my hardwood floors but never a new floor. Do you start with a 40 grit to start or a higher grit? Any diagonal passes?
You can start with 40 still! And yes!
Are you in Connecticut
No sorry, central Florida
Nice job! What grits did you use?
50, 80, 100
@@jobart1028thanks for the answer!;)
way too dark staining if you asked me. Closer to the natural wool color would have been nice.
That’s one nice part about hardwood floors! You can make them whatever color you’d like 👍
I am planning on refinishing my floor. I have been told you must sand at an angle?
It doesn’t have to be drastic, I like keeping my sanding scratches straight
Hey I enjoy your page question what are the names and brands of the machines that you are using in trying to expand my knowledge of flooring I’ve mastered tile and carpet never really did hardwood but I’m trying to get into it
I use a Lagler Hummel and a Clarke Super 7R
Do they sell oil-based finishes in order to repel accidental spills?
Not sure it’s for that
Looks nice
Thank you!
After you do the final finish do you do any sanding and buffing?
Nope! Once it’s dried it’s done!
Right to left with the drum not left to right especially with a hummel
Just depend on how you have your drum set 👍 I set mine just how I like it
Wrong. The manual recommends righ to left on most drums. I sanded and finished for over 20 years. I thought I was finally done doing floors and yesterday my little brother asked if I'd teach him the trade and start a company with him. I literally just passed my cdl last week, little brother is a turd lol
Are the lines from uv damage? Those don’t go away with sanding?
Yes. If they are recent or within the last few years they can sand out. If a rug has been in the same place a loooong time, that’s not going to sand out. The natural light will amber tannins more than the ones receiving none. If that makes sense?? Years worth of ambering isn’t going to sand out
👌🏽👌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Beautiful as always boss !

Awesome job! I love floor sanding! It’s my most favorite thing to do! 😊
Very cool!

It can be if you don’t know what you are doing!
I love it can't wait to watch later !!!
Thank you for watching at all!

Thank you!!
Beautiful as always your process continues amazes me !does that Bona sealer voc high?
It’s 550 g/L
Awesome!!!

Beautiful job

Disagree
@@jobart1028 get into some good old sap wood and you'll agree 👍 lol
Looks good I prefer natural stain to the drifast but the result is the same. Good info and nicely done. How would you compare the mega one to easy finish by loba?
I like both to be honest!! I seem to stock more mega one just because I like how it goes over stain better. But on a natural I loved the results from Easy
@@jobart1028 that’s interesting. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed your video
I’m always amazed by your big machine process and buffing process No chatter marks no big machine marks your process is so awesome ! There’s a lot a ways to skin a cat we use the trio to get our floors really flat but your process is genius!
It works for me! Lots of great ways to do it! I’m very intrigued by the Power Drive!
What grit level?
On buff and coat I usually buff at 200
In my experience, when I see old finish flaking off like in this video, it’s generally from a screen and recoat that had taken place before. Nice work 💪
That could definitely be the case!! I hadn’t thought of that!
Just my opinion.....would be interesting to see it in 5 years, my guress is that all that filler starts coming out in spots.......ive never liked fillers.
I don’t like them either. I’m willing to do it if f customer asks but I definitely prefer not to do it.
If not filler than what?
