Join me as I document my first house renovation project. As a first-time buyer, I decided to buy a "fixer-upper" house in South East England, with the hopes of transforming it into a modern family home. A digital designer by day, I'm more accustomed to keyboards and mice than I am to plumbing and power tools. I'm very excited to share this journey with you all and hope you enjoy watching it. I’m Removing my Parquet Flooring
In todays video I take on the task of removing an old and pretty poorly treated parquet floor. As much as I would have loved to keep it, there was so much of it missing and it was in such a state that it had to go. I try various techniques to getting the floor up and share my experience with you in this video. Hope it helps.
Thanks for watching!

Super vidéo. Thank you .
🙌 thank you! Subscribe for more
I had mine for 2 years before it got stolen and it’s awesome!!! For being brushed its absorbs vibration like a champ. Guys got dewalt ones that give me the shakes all day from using. They use mine more than theirs bc of the flex head! Highly recommended
That sucks! I’d love it if they made a brushless version with the flex head. I’m surprised other brands haven’t got a similar design
Use a spade
A spade?
Glad to see you posting again! Lovely job mate. My first guess was that it might be a Red Oak, but not sure how common that would have been in the UK when the flooring was put down. Beech maybe more likely but could even be teak.
Thanks it’s been a while but I’m hoping to post a little more consistently going forward. I think it might be teak also. A shame it had to come up but the reasons will be clear in the future
nice. If you’re feeling ambitious could glue a bunch of them up to make desktops or something? Although you’d need access to a bunch of woodworking tools
@alol-alol that’s a great idea 💡 Butcher block style table would look epic!
At about 4;08 the tool clamp came loose. Why?
The lever is moving a cam so it's got a little play at the end of the travel. The tool is locked in by the halfway point. I think the play is to make it easier for you to get your fingers under to operate the lever.
Show me how to replace the battery.
Small screw on the back of I remember
Quick and easy if you are at the sublevel already!
Sometimes you get lucky!
Thank you sharing how to install
Haha see I came here for the same reason. Didn’t realise you had to pull the latch all the way back!! Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
You’re welcome. There’s so much tension you almost feel like you’re going to break it.
@@designerbuilds exactly! I pulled it and stopped as I was thinking. “That’s gonna snap” lol.
It does move a little with all the vibrations as many people have seen from my video but it’s so tight to begin with that even with that little movement it’s not going anywhere!
@@designerbuilds yeah that’s true. Need a crowbar lol. I’ve not used it yet. Only got it yesterday with the brushless grinder. Another two tools to the arsenal. The wife wasn’t happy 😅. I must have 13-15 Ryobi tools now lol
That’s one hell of a collection! The bright green doesn’t help to hide them much 😅
Gonna grab one of those drill piece kits now. Haha cheers
Just bought one for round the house. Cheers for the review
Thank you for the easy n quick approach to the Ryobi impact drill.
You bet!
Good video, but you didn't mention that the pen detects a voltage in a wire that is not live. It's a crap product and waste of time
Thanks! I show that it’s not detecting on the green flex that’s not live. The plug sockets in the wall are still energised even if the plug is not inserted and the switch is off because some of them are on a ring. It has its uses as it gives the ability to see where live cables might exist inside walls without having to make any holes or open anything up.
My blade wandered around on its own and ends up 90deg right... starts straight and ends right. Any ideas anyone
I'm a newbie. But it appeared that you used too much force while making the cut. Don't try to go too deep. Let the muti-tool handle most of the motion and you'll get a smoother and quicker cut.
The lever was raising and coming lose, you cut the video! what's going on?
I didn’t tighten the frontside nut enough. The tool can take varying thickness tools so be sure to tighten it to avoid it working loose!
is it just me or was the pen switching on and off while on that cable (and socket)? Also why was it beeping next to the socket when it was turned off?
It will trigger when it is near AC voltage. Some sockets are connected further down the row and supplied by this socket so the socket itself isn’t live but the wiring behind can still be energised
@@designerbuilds thanks for explaining
YOU HAD TO ADD SCENE FROM SPONGEBOB THAT SAIS "100 YEARS LATER".
Felt like 200 years! I was worried about cutting the radiator pipe so I went for the scenic route
Good clear Instructions better than the Ryobi selling site by far. How is it with plaster board?
Works great with plasterboard
That sparking is normal? Because i sent my 1 time used one back because of that sparking and got a new one
The motor uses carbon brushes which can spark. This doesn’t happen with tools that use brushless motors
thx for this video the official videos from the company is useless and the book even worse
Glad it helped! The official videos are so bad. Always some happy looking person cutting a twig or something
Excellent video and very informative on the actual products. I've worked with these in the past and has proven to be very useful. keep up the good work.
Thank you!
the lever was raising during operation mhmmm then a little cut in the video
Sharp eyes! I commented on this in another thread
Sad to tell you but the rmt18-0 model has no angle adjust so this isn't the rmt18-0 model by ryobi
That’s what it says on the box
Just had a look and the model I have is the R18MT-0 and the one you are talking about is the RMT18-0. That’s very confusing!
Thanks for video. Worst manual in box.
You’re welcome! They’re all pretty useless manuals… good for making test cuts on 😂
Great video, very clear explanation, thank you. I was struggling with the instruction leaflet but this made setting my new multi-tool up much easier.
Hope it’s working well for you
I didn’t know they had a pivoting head???
Same I just bought one and mine doesnt have that option. I got the brushless motor and the only other one I saw had the brushed motor. So now I'm wondering where they got it from
I googled the model number and the results seem to show a version with a pivoting head and a fixed head. Not sure why Ryobi would have two different tools under the same model number
Just had a look and the model I have is the R18MT-0 and the one you are talking about is the RMT18-0. That’s very confusing!
Heading says UNBOXING- this video does NOT cover UNBOXING - I cannot open the Voltage Tester PEN case to insert the battery. - your vid is no help!!!!!
Unboxing means, taking out of the box. It's assumed any handyman can insert a battery basically into anything without instructions. I'd suggest, get an electrician!
Nice tool.👍🏽There must be an easier way to make that kind of cut.✌🏽
I could make a killing if I charged by the hour with cuts like this 😂
What is the best attachment to use for cutting twigs the size of off shrubs?
Search Google for a "Japanese tooth multitool saw blade".
@@designerbuilds thanks mate 👍🏾
Compatible w590?
The Harbor Freight 12v one works great for a lot less. These tools are unique to do plunge cuts.
I wish we had some of the brands here in the UK. Ryobi is one of the lower cost brands here.
Спасибо за обзор.
Great tool where did you get it
I picked this up from Ryobi online as part of a bundle deal they had
Not life saving at all, people have litterly died putting trust in pen detectors ask any electricians opinion on them
Totally agree, very bad advice
Agreed, but they have some practical use to detect voltage in some harder to access spots
Brood combs, not honeycombs
Many thanks for this. I have the same LAP kit and will be using it for the first time today 🙏🏻
Amazing! I use the pen all the time
Do these reliably pick up a live signal from a cable that's plugged in to a live socket? For example if wanting to check that a device actually has power running through it (when checking if it could possibly be faulty) rather than just the socket? I'm assuming that's the sort of thing you've done with that cable test?
Yes it would work for that
@@designerbuilds thank you for the information, just gone and ordered from screwfix to give it a try, many thanks
Cheers Chris, let me know how it works out!
The "spindles" are called suspensoria.
You should never do that to get rid of wasps
Why not?
thank you for showing how to flip the lever all the way back to change blades. The onstruction book is very poor. Great helpful video.
Thanks for demonstrating the saw blade! I'm sold! Buying it tomorrow! ;-)

most inefficient way
😂 Now that I think about it, I should have cut away from the pipe instead of towards. Next time!
I was looking at the Ryobi awd mower. Home Depot wants $899 + tax! I would not pay more than $400. Ripoff!
It’s a euro model cheaper to buy off a euro business that ships to the US.
I’ve seen people buying ryobi ride-on mowers for less than that
So why did you cut to the pipe and not just cut either side of the pipe.....back to the drawing board young man
Now I know what to do next time!
My 2a battery died after normal use and never charged again. Seems like a common problem as a month later they were selling 3a and higher with the tools
Did they cover it under warranty?
Hi just purchased the impactor in you video it any good ??
It’s good for it’s price. I have used it for driving big screws and noticed it is much better with a larger battery like the 5ah
First look? Hasn't the Wagner power painter been out for like... 3 decades?
I just got this one so taking a first look at it before I get a chance to try it out. Thanks for watching
