Thank you for sharing this video. I almost got scammed. I'm glad I saw your video before I put credit card details on these Ted McGrath scammers.
You're welcome.
I have the 4040 Pro and love it. My Z is not as robust as your but great for what I need. Mine came out before yours and was cheaper. I also have the 6040 extension. They have great customer service.
Agreed, the customer service is fantastic. I'm building the table for it now.
@@KRWoodworks Very cool! I made a sliding tabletop for mine so I can slide in up to 48" long stock as mine has to be up agains a wall.

"To" big.....
Ah, I missed that, thanks. It will take a bit to fix that since I have to redo the thumbnail
Did you live in Indianapolis years ago and attend Herron School of Art?
Nope. I've never been to Indianapolis
I fettled an original Stanley to work really well but getting a secondhand one of these makes adjustment so much easier. So much better made.
True that. I've started checking Marketplace and other sites for LN planes
Thank you for taking the time to educate people away from cheap modern hand planes. I've been restoring and working with vintage Stanley and other hand tools for a few decades now. And I could see a young person thinking that going to buy a new tool from a hardware store would be better, because it's brand new. Hopefully this will help somebody save their money and put it towards a better vintage tool. And if they take the time to tune it up and restore it properly will understand the quality and how to maintain it.
You're welcome. I get joy out of teaching, although I don't get to do it often. I explained everything to the owner and let him try it against my number 4, and he immediately got it. As to modern planes, Lee Nielson and Veritas are some of the best, but you will pay to play. Worth every penny.
Sometimes, when I want to do an invisible repair across the grain, I use fiberglass and epoxy. The brass looks really sharp and is more authentic, though!
Thank you!
Yeah, I followed the links from You tube, and realized this looked very fishy. Then all these plans and prices and scamming. I got very upset. So thank you for your video. What I am most upset about is that some of the items he shows in the video is were interesting to me and I would have loved to try building some.
Scammers are one of my top hot buttons in life. I retired from a career in IT and I used to give talks on scammers and how to avoid them.
Beautiful work Kevin, hope you and your family are having a great Thanksgiving
It was great, thank you. Hope yours was great as well.
Agreed. I love the detailed work making the reveals.
I know this video has been out there for some time now, but quick question. If you bump out the outer/rightmost blade, won't that leave a gap/ridge of wood that will not be dado'd out? So it's not a flat bottom cut? I hope I explained my question clearly. Thank you
@@MDJTUBE the set is designed for the outer adjustable blade to go out to the point that is beyond 3/4” and still work. I’ve set it out as far as 3/4” without issue. The instructions show how to set it up in detail. Hope that helps and answers you question.
Excellent! Thank you.
Why don't you go ahead and make it easy for us and tell us how you did it.
What is the exact size of that blade? I purchased a set because of your video and the blade was 8 and an 1/8 too big to work with sawstop. Do you hapen to know the part number?
Mine is also 8-1/8 in diameter and it's part number SD608. Does your Dago cartridge not adjust up and down enough? If you don't have the dado cartridge, you'll need to get one. I've got a lot of room to adjust in my saw.
Great video, thanks for sharing how to setup and run a cnc for I see them all over UA-cam but you have shown some very interesting information about using them, I have been interested and looking at possibly buying one but you have answered many of my questions .thanks Kevin and have a great weekend looking forward to seeing your next video
You're very welcome. If you have more questions, I'll try to answer them
Thanks for sharing your progress. I’ve been researching on options. You’ve given me a few ideas.
Wife: "You ARE getting a saw stop" Husband: "Who am I to argue??" 😂 If only everything was so simple!!!
I wasn't going to question her judgment. 😁
Without a doubt, it would be worth the price! That piece will be cherished for generations! I hope to build something like this some day! Thank you for this wonderful video series. ❤
Thank you and ou're very welcome.
I love this table! I'm new and just learning to speak woodworker. Now I need to learn how to speak machinist! LOL
Thank you. There is a bit of crossover for sure.
I have installed an LED shadow light the correct way with a switch on the handle/switch assembly and a minitransformer to convert line voltage to 12vdc. Line voltage is supplied via the input voltage at the switch inside the handle. Works like a factory install. The tedious install includes cutting a 13mm x20mm hole in the handle to install the switch for the LED. At least 3 people have reached out to duplicate this installation method in their 12SD.
The correct is the way you want it set up for your shop. That's not necessary correct for everyone.
I would be interested in directions on how to duplicate if you wouldn't mind sharing.

Hi, congratulations for the video. do you recommend this drill?
Kevin thank you for sharing your skills. Nice reveals
Glad to o it
Did it come with that keyless chuck or was that a separate purchase?
I didn't come with the keyless I bought that after the fact. It's something I've done with every drill press I've owned.
what are the benefits to a keyless chuck? From what I under you can go in reverse with it as it will release
I am not a plumber. It looks great to me. I heard that the UV light from the sun will break down the PEX pipe. I don't know for sure. As I wright this I wonder if a pool pool noodles covering the pipe would work. Again, this is as much a question as an idea. I mean you well.
Thanks. I looked it up and PEX has UV protectant and coatings but for how long, no one seems to know, it can weaken it. Having said that, covering the exposed PEX would a belt and suspenders kind of thing. The tubing for our solar hot water system has the black exterior insulation, and I think I'll use some of that.
@@KRWoodworks Thanks. I feel better about it.
Great choice. That’s a nice drill press! I have the bench mounted version.
Thanks. I grabbed the floor model pic, but I also have the bench top. It's on a rolling cabinet, and I made a new table for it that cranks up and down from the front of the table. It's a two part video. The fist ones title is Let's Do Something Cool With The Drill Press.
Appreciate your comments on the quality of the saw, aside from the safety features. Almost every SawStop review focusses almost entirely on safety - which is important - but I want to know if I'd be buying a quality saw. Based on what you said, it sounds like I would be.
@@DrAndyHolt I’m glad the video helped
I clicked on a video thinking it was something to watch. It was a "Jay Bates" video which "Ted" advertisement over the top of "Jay's" video. I reported the video and email Jay. I was looking forward to learning how to do this with my loom, but was so disappointed with you camera angle and the long distance you used to film. Happy you were able to do the conversion. Congratulations
We are sorry about that. I'm getting better at this video thing....I hope 🤣
Why didn't you make the gate Chippendale as well?
I just realized what gate you may be referring to. The gate from the deck to the garden is Chippendale.
Hello, have watched and trying to connect. Are you still making this loom for sale if so what are you asking?
Great video Kevin, I have a Old D 4 from the mid 90'S with all of the attachments, isoloc, multiple mortise and the other attachments. It might be old but it gets the job done and it's a beautiful tool to use
Very cool. As long as it keeps truck'n along, it has a place in the shop. And, it will never leave cuz I'll just fix it

Glad you like it and thank you. When I do get one of Kibler's kits the stock will be fancy maple as he calls to so I can do this to ti.
I just bought this and can’t wait to start using 🙌
It is a joy to use.
Kevin, I made it 7 and a 1/2 minutes and then gave up on trying to see and guess at whatever you were trying to do. You're camera was positioned in a way that we couldn't see diddly squat because you were blocking the matter saw. You should have set your camera on that little shelf right there to your left pointing at what you were doing, maybe you could redo this whole thing again so anybody that wants to watch it can actually see what you're doing.
That's fair. I have a nasty habit of doing that, and I'm working to get better. Reshooting it right now is not an option. The disassembly of the saw is in Travis's instruction video, as well as the reassembly. There is more detail and close-ups later in the video.
Thank you so much for your detailed video. Yes, some of the camera angles obscured visibility of what you were doing, but overall, your video was fantastic. I have the same loom as Mara since 1980, and your video gave me the courage to purchase the conversion kit and tackle its installation which I did by myself without any assistance. It’s wonderful having six treadles, and I would have been too intimidated to make the conversion to six treadles without having your video to assist. You guys were my assistants! Thanks, again.
You are entirely welcome. Glad to help.
I was not aware of those metal clips. I've always used scrap wood, but I'll keep them in mind for (inevitable) future projects. Thanks.

Sure. I used the DGS I Socket. The model I have is not available anymore, but they have a newer version. If you use "Automated Vacuum Switch" to search ob Amazon, you'll find a bunch of then
Tks for your answer
Nice!
Tanks. It works really well.
When you say take off the safety features off do you take it permanently off or you are just putting it on stand by off every time you switch it on Thank you for the advice
When you term off the safety system, it's only off for that cycle of the saw running. Once you turn the saw off, it automatically resets to safe. If you want to use it again without the safety system you have to tern in off again. There's no switch to tern it off, you have to hold the key turned to the right as start the saw and wait for the lights to stop blinking the let go of teh key.
Quite a job with a great result Kevin. I have to restrain myself but I'm not going to ask :-)
Thank you. Please ask.
