Agreed. I love the detailed work making the reveals.
I know this video has been out there for some time now, but quick question. If you bump out the outer/rightmost blade, won't that leave a gap/ridge of wood that will not be dado'd out? So it's not a flat bottom cut? I hope I explained my question clearly. Thank you
@@MDJTUBE the set is designed for the outer adjustable blade to go out to the point that is beyond 3/4” and still work. I’ve set it out as far as 3/4” without issue. The instructions show how to set it up in detail. Hope that helps and answers you question.
Excellent! Thank you.
Why don't you go ahead and make it easy for us and tell us how you did it.
What is the exact size of that blade? I purchased a set because of your video and the blade was 8 and an 1/8 too big to work with sawstop. Do you hapen to know the part number?
Mine is also 8-1/8 in diameter and it's part number SD608. Does your Dago cartridge not adjust up and down enough? If you don't have the dado cartridge, you'll need to get one. I've got a lot of room to adjust in my saw.
Great video, thanks for sharing how to setup and run a cnc for I see them all over UA-cam but you have shown some very interesting information about using them, I have been interested and looking at possibly buying one but you have answered many of my questions .thanks Kevin and have a great weekend looking forward to seeing your next video
You're very welcome. If you have more questions, I'll try to answer them
Thanks for sharing your progress. I’ve been researching on options. You’ve given me a few ideas.
Wife: "You ARE getting a saw stop" Husband: "Who am I to argue??" 😂 If only everything was so simple!!!
I wasn't going to question her judgment. 😁
Without a doubt, it would be worth the price! That piece will be cherished for generations! I hope to build something like this some day! Thank you for this wonderful video series. ❤
Thank you and ou're very welcome.
I love this table! I'm new and just learning to speak woodworker. Now I need to learn how to speak machinist! LOL
Thank you. There is a bit of crossover for sure.
I have installed an LED shadow light the correct way with a switch on the handle/switch assembly and a minitransformer to convert line voltage to 12vdc. Line voltage is supplied via the input voltage at the switch inside the handle. Works like a factory install. The tedious install includes cutting a 13mm x20mm hole in the handle to install the switch for the LED. At least 3 people have reached out to duplicate this installation method in their 12SD.
The correct is the way you want it set up for your shop. That's not necessary correct for everyone.
I would be interested in directions on how to duplicate if you wouldn't mind sharing.
@@Nick-by7jp i created a short with description you might want to review.
Hi, congratulations for the video. do you recommend this drill?
Kevin thank you for sharing your skills. Nice reveals
Glad to o it
Did it come with that keyless chuck or was that a separate purchase?
I didn't come with the keyless I bought that after the fact. It's something I've done with every drill press I've owned.
what are the benefits to a keyless chuck? From what I under you can go in reverse with it as it will release
I am not a plumber. It looks great to me. I heard that the UV light from the sun will break down the PEX pipe. I don't know for sure. As I wright this I wonder if a pool pool noodles covering the pipe would work. Again, this is as much a question as an idea. I mean you well.
Thanks. I looked it up and PEX has UV protectant and coatings but for how long, no one seems to know, it can weaken it. Having said that, covering the exposed PEX would a belt and suspenders kind of thing. The tubing for our solar hot water system has the black exterior insulation, and I think I'll use some of that.
@@KRWoodworks Thanks. I feel better about it.
Great choice. That’s a nice drill press! I have the bench mounted version.
Thanks. I grabbed the floor model pic, but I also have the bench top. It's on a rolling cabinet, and I made a new table for it that cranks up and down from the front of the table. It's a two part video. The fist ones title is Let's Do Something Cool With The Drill Press.
Appreciate your comments on the quality of the saw, aside from the safety features. Almost every SawStop review focusses almost entirely on safety - which is important - but I want to know if I'd be buying a quality saw. Based on what you said, it sounds like I would be.
@@DrAndyHolt I’m glad the video helped
I clicked on a video thinking it was something to watch. It was a "Jay Bates" video which "Ted" advertisement over the top of "Jay's" video. I reported the video and email Jay. Jay said that there was little he could do but he did look into it. So not just plans, but UA-cam video. As I am writing this an email from "Fisher's Shop" just came in and he has been hacked. A lot of Scumbags in this world.

It is like whack a mole.
He doesn't get around to installing the hinges in the video. So if you wanted to know how to install a hinge, choose another post.
I was looking forward to learning how to do this with my loom, but was so disappointed with you camera angle and the long distance you used to film. Happy you were able to do the conversion. Congratulations
We are sorry about that. I'm getting better at this video thing....I hope 🤣
Why didn't you make the gate Chippendale as well?
I just realized what gate you may be referring to. The gate from the deck to the garden is Chippendale.
Hello, have watched and trying to connect. Are you still making this loom for sale if so what are you asking?
Great video Kevin, I have a Old D 4 from the mid 90'S with all of the attachments, isoloc, multiple mortise and the other attachments. It might be old but it gets the job done and it's a beautiful tool to use
Very cool. As long as it keeps truck'n along, it has a place in the shop. And, it will never leave cuz I'll just fix it
Thanks for sharing I never heard of that finish and your table is beautiful .I enjoy your videos please keep making them
@@boxcarjimmy4671 thank you and will do
I never heard of this technique. The refinishing came out great. Thank you for sharing Kevin. Wonderful video.
Glad you like it and thank you. When I do get one of Kibler's kits the stock will be fancy maple as he calls to so I can do this to ti.
I just bought this and can’t wait to start using 🙌
It is a joy to use.
Kevin, I made it 7 and a 1/2 minutes and then gave up on trying to see and guess at whatever you were trying to do. You're camera was positioned in a way that we couldn't see diddly squat because you were blocking the matter saw. You should have set your camera on that little shelf right there to your left pointing at what you were doing, maybe you could redo this whole thing again so anybody that wants to watch it can actually see what you're doing.
That's fair. I have a nasty habit of doing that, and I'm working to get better. Reshooting it right now is not an option. The disassembly of the saw is in Travis's instruction video, as well as the reassembly. There is more detail and close-ups later in the video.
Thank you so much for your detailed video. Yes, some of the camera angles obscured visibility of what you were doing, but overall, your video was fantastic. I have the same loom as Mara since 1980, and your video gave me the courage to purchase the conversion kit and tackle its installation which I did by myself without any assistance. It’s wonderful having six treadles, and I would have been too intimidated to make the conversion to six treadles without having your video to assist. You guys were my assistants! Thanks, again.
You are entirely welcome. Glad to help.
I was not aware of those metal clips. I've always used scrap wood, but I'll keep them in mind for (inevitable) future projects. Thanks.

Hi Kevin. Very nice video. Could you give me the reference of the system yo use for start both machines at the same time? Thanks.
Sure. I used the DGS I Socket. The model I have is not available anymore, but they have a newer version. If you use "Automated Vacuum Switch" to search ob Amazon, you'll find a bunch of then
Tks for your answer
Nice!
Tanks. It works really well.
When you say take off the safety features off do you take it permanently off or you are just putting it on stand by off every time you switch it on Thank you for the advice
When you term off the safety system, it's only off for that cycle of the saw running. Once you turn the saw off, it automatically resets to safe. If you want to use it again without the safety system you have to tern in off again. There's no switch to tern it off, you have to hold the key turned to the right as start the saw and wait for the lights to stop blinking the let go of teh key.
Quite a job with a great result Kevin. I have to restrain myself but I'm not going to ask :-)
Thank you. Please ask.

@@mikevdb6386 I call the system "The Spider" because it kind of looks like one. The reference is to a song by The Who "Boris The Spider" off their album "A Quick One", 1966
You have a smaller shop, much like mine, as well as the Grizzly 1250 w/canister I see. Biggest improvement I did was to make space for an Oneida super dust deputy XL and place it right next to the Grizzly intake. It collects 99.9% of the stuff before it makes it to the collector and keeps me from having to clean/change its bag (a job I hate). I mounted a heavy duty plastic garbage bin below the Oneida that is easy to pull out. Only super fine dust makes it to the canister and I rarely have to clean it. Remount your Grizzly 90 degrees to the wall and place an Oneida in front of it (between your bay doors).
Interesting suggestion but I don't have the room to do that. There is 40" to the workbench and it is the only spot where I can keep my MIG Welder.
Hi Kevin, I have one of those LN 102 planes also. I bought mine form a woodworker's widow.. I agree that it is just so enjoyable to use. Thanks for your YT videos. You really do a nice job of helping others make great things out of wood.
Thank you and thanks for watching. You're right it is a joy to use and the blade really holds an edge well.
I think some of that weird link stuff is Amazon got ahead of themselves with certain features. They are constantly rolling out half-built tools and features. But caveat emptor for sure.
I’m 73 and appreciate your honest review!
That's nice work you did Kevin. I hope Mara feels the same way.
She is very happy with the outcome. She started using it right away.
Good job Kevin. Yesterday, after two and a half months, I finished my restoration project Mayford ML7.
Wow. Do you know the build year?
Good stuff!
Thanks
That was neat to see a project that integrates the lathe. I seemed to have missed the first 2 episodes. I need to go back and watch those.
Thanks. I going to try and add more details like that. The last episode is delayed due to a video of repairing the dust collector.
Don't bust too many knuckles in that hanger
Too late 🤣 The didn't make these things easy to work on.
The two hooks at the bottom are intended to connect the wooden frame to the cast iron frame. I just found a nice picture where this can be seen.
I admire your woodworking knowledge Kevin. You'll see two drawers and the frame and then the detailed technique of duplicating it. Nice to follow and learn a lot. On to episode 3
Thanks Mike. Episode 3 will be delayed a bit. I'm going to post a video why but the shot story is I'm a pilot and I fly a friend of mine's Piper. It went in for the annual inspection and I'm doing an "owner assisted" annual. So I'm in the hanger wrenching on the plane.
Be careful with these, the plastic is brittle and will explode if a piece of whatever you're cutting gets launched into the chute. He really should consider using solid plastic or even switching to something like aluminum to keep this from happening.
Travis discovered that very early on from customer feedback. He redesigned it and solved the issue.
@@KRWoodworks That's news to me. I follow his channel and socials, he changed the design but mentioned nothing about his manufacturing process as far as I can tell. I'm on my 3rd chute, I bought three... two exploded. The plastic isn't solid. It's hollow, kind of like the zig zag pattern found between the layers of cardboard. That makes it brittle and prone to shattering. Dewalt tried to use plastic for their units but had to do a mass recall for the same issue. I'd hate for this guy to get sued for this. I'll give Travis credit where it's due, his design is wonderful when it works. Stay safe.
