Testing the audio
Off to France on Friday 6th so we need to make sure all the mics are working, and I wanted to see if they would work whilst connected to a charging source in the car. We're using the Rode 2 wireless mics, the internal media-mod mics and the standard camera mics so we need to test them all. I think it was a successful trial!

Oradour sur Glane pre-trip vlog
Переглядів 5512 годин тому
A brief vlog outlining our upcoming trip to Oradour sur Glane near Limoges in the mid-south area of France. It's pretty well known what happened here in 1944 but I'll save all the history lessons for now. Stay tuned from 16th September onwards for the full video series.

Here is a video 'as it happened' review of this years BTTW exhibition which myself and Laura were privileged to take part in as walking talking mannikins if you like. We had a fantastic 10 days mingling with visitors, having photos taken and answering as many questions as we could. A massive thank you goes to Glenda Rodgers and her organisational team for welcoming us into the fold and looking ...

A video that I've been threatening to make for quite some time now. Any previous effort has been thwarted mostly by inclement weather (we get a lot of rain and wind around here! Here's hoping this is to you, the viewers approval! Cheers y'all!

Well, here it is, the day everyone hopes never comes....home day! How the time has flown, it really only seems like we arrived yesterday! Ah well, only one thing for it then, we go home and start planning our next trip! We finish up by giving you a small insight into our digs in Tourlaville, calling in with a decommissioned nuclear submarine in the port of Cherbourg and finally boarding W.B. Ye...
Ulster Military Vehicle Club Show, 2023

A visit to Portstewart for the Ulster Military Vehicle Club's show held at the NW200 pits area on August 6th 2023. Due to more hassles with GoPro settings this ended up being shot in 4:3 ratio, not my usual 16:9 but hey ho, every day's a school day, or so they keep telling me!
D-Day 79, Normandy '23, Day 10 **RE-UPLOADED**
Переглядів 82Рік тому
Re-uploaded this one after finding more glitches in the final video. Don't know why this happens but it only seems to be when uploading to UA-cam, all other copies are fine. If anyone else uses Adobe Premier Elements 2022 and is familiar with this problem I'd like to hear from you in the comments. Thanks!

A day of doing very little. Last minute shopping, packing up, cleaning the house and talking you through our haul. Oh, and one final little bunker too. Enjoy!

As we get ever closer to the end of this trip to Normandy we set out today with two main objectives in mind...the American Cemetery at Colville-sur-Mer and the beautiful city of Bayeux. If you've watched our Normandy '22 videos you'll recall that our first attempt at visiting the cemetery was a total washout and we had promised ourselves that we would return with hopefully better weather. That ...

More jeeps, more bunkers, more of us eating...everythings starting to wind down now that the big day itself is over. We still have a lot of places to visit though so let's crack on! (Re -uploaded after discovering glitches in the original. Apologies to anyone who had their viewing spoiled by these gremlins!)

Having been to similar cemetries in France and Belgium it is so moving...these brave men gave their lives their futures so that we could live in freedom now. We must never ever ever forget what they endured and what price they paid for us.
I mean we were playing the Fife Flyers so you expectations should have been higher when doing match predictions. I went for 7-2. I was kind of upset that it was so one sided but I can't complain we got the W. Also did you know Fife is the first Scottish team to make it to any EIHL final, and are also the first Scottish team to lose in any EIHL final.
that was me behind the fife fans at 4.30 in lol, was going to put a cigarette out and just realised you wer doing this, sorry bud
Just adds to the atmosphere, a small dose of normality in a cauldron of chaos! 😂
I was there as well
Those are ridiculously terrible in my opinion and use, good luck with it
One vet told me that in 1940, he went to the draft board because he got his notice. He was immediately excused because he had a problem with his arm and his hearing in one of his ears was sharply reduced. Then in 1942 three months after war was declared on Japan, he was brought in again. He knew was going to be released again and he was doing well. He had a good paying job in a factory. He was given a medical examination and told he was going into the army. He asked about his previous deferment and that said, "What we'll do for you is put in the artillery. With that bad ear, what difference will it make." He said, "In those days, if you were breathing, you were going." He was shipped to England after basic. He got reassigned to an infantry unit. After the initial invasion on Normandy he went there 2 days after. He said the month of June and August were bad because the Germans were doing everything they could to repel the invasion. But in September it eased up. Nevertheless he had to fight across France with his unit. There were a lot of close calls and no one expected to live through it. Than in December January they reached the German border and the Germans fought with everything they had to hold the border, but ran out of ammunition. Than it was easier but still highly risky. Hitler Youth Troops would take pot shots a the unit. He said before one threw a grenade, one had to let the timer run down a couple of seconds because the Germans were very gifted at picking it up and throwing it back from wherever it came from.
Very interesting. I love reading these anecdotes!
I went there. The whole place is dedicated to the invasion and the men who lost their lives there.
