Приєднався 17 сер 2021
Rick Troutman, aka The Trout, is a Texas-born songwriter, musician, producer, connector, collaborator, and fun-loving personality at the helm of The Trout Show on UA-cam. That’s the semi-professional part. At his heart, Rick is still that wide-eyed 12-year-old boy from South Texas who wouldn’t put his guitar down for all the tea in China. A former suit-and-tie-wearing member of Corporate America by day with decades of experience as a marketing, sales, and management executive, Rick parlayed his boyhood love for music and a lifelong gift of gab into a musical career that spans over 50 years. In 2024, Rick released his latest and first instrumental album, No Words. Rick's UA-cam and podcast channels focuses on down-to-earth conversations with some of the music industry’s more intriguing characters and visionaries.

Fantastic interview 👌❤
Such a lovely interview ❣️
Wonderful interview! Thank you Kurt for your beautiful songs!✨
im a hendrix/ mitch mitchell fan. i like a good cover band over a crappy local struggling new band playing simplistic compositions. the better the cover the better the experience.
Rick, love the tune, vibe and story of life. Look forward to the release of your next album!
I’ve listened to Lexington Lab Band for years. I’ve been a musician all my life. Played in several bands. Played drums since 1967. These people are great musicians. Really clean and remaining true to the music.
Can't remember that band out of Australia, that has a similar amount of musicians, considered the past decade the "world's best cover band"--noted by people like Elton, Stevie Nicks, Kiss, etc. for their exact, or even better, "reproductions" of hits from the 50's-through today...
I love listening to music. I love playing music. I have played keyboards in a wedding band and have played tenor sax in a concert band for going on 50+ years. I understand the interactions between players during playing! And it is pure joy! Listening to LLB and watching them, I now recognize faces, voices, and some mannerisms. And I pick up on some subtle smiles and nods. And they ADD to my listening experience and my joy because I am sharing in their fun while loving what I am listening to. And in some cases I like your version better than the original. But even there, listening to LLB broadens my interest such that I listen more to bands that I previously ignored. For all this, I am grateful. Thank you so much. Working on a way to see LLB live, taking my RV down from Boston. Best wishes to you all!
They are the best!
Their cover for foreigner is incredible ...
Has no one here listened to HSCC, if not please check em out
@edrumal yes I have. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an interview with them.
Excellent at the music style they play, other cover bands are just as good at the music they select, as in real life.
I can tell you how I feel when I hear an old song. For me, songs are time travel. Classic rock songs that I like, instantly take me back to time that the song was new, especially done in the quality your band plays them. I litterally find myself back in time especially if I'm laying in my bed at night, it keeps me young at heart. I'm 68 and when hear a song that say came out in 1978 it takes me back to like the summer of 1978, I actually find myself in my dreams going back to that date in my life which was my early 20s, or in the 90s when I was a dad of my four young daughters and my young son. I've had a super awesome life and no matter what era music helped tie it all together. I have a very large varied genres in my music library. What you guys do is do is time travel and, try this sometime put on a quality pair of headphones and put on any song in your own catalog, especially if you've had long hard day. The music will transport you back to the first time you heard it! It's magical!
To answer your question…….”YES”!!!!!!!
It is the players, the singers and the drummer; in words they are the full package with the camera presentation 10/10. We need more to drown out the other current garbage.
Talking about bringing new people into the community, Austin on keyboards is amazing, especially when Mike related he told him to take 3 weeks or so to learn a part and he called back in a few days with his rendition down pat. Then he shows up a few videos later playing acoustic guitar...
Mike's mixing and editing talents are also a huge part of LLB's attraction, too! It's just amazing how many great musicians he can bring together on these collaborations: Are they professional session musicians, pros like Roger Coleman or just a fantastic collection of everyday people who are very good at their hobby, be it vocals or instrumentals, do they travel to participate or just local? Doesn't matter, it's as good as it gets.
❤GREAT interview with one of the BEST! 😅
i think they are the greatest cover band ever. i view them almost daily.
REO Brothers is better than them
Going to see them on the 🤘🏽🚢 February can’t wait.✌🏽
Granted, neither of them (Hindley Street Country Club and Classic Rock Show) is from the United States.
Hindley Street Country Club and The Classic Rock Show are both as good as Lexington Lab Band
It is insane that they don't have at least a million subs. There are some lesser cover bands that have more than a million subs. Makes no sense to me.
The Fab four would run rings around these clowns!
The fact LLB only has 217K subscribers is borderline criminal.
@dasworkshop4967 you're absolutely correct. It continues to be one of my most viewed interviews. Thanks for watching.
The best ever. We seek out their music regularly
Sina Drums is another good drummer
What a brilliant group, they are the next best thing to the Beatles. Every other tribute band is nothing compared to these guys, they just sound exactly like them every single song is just like the way the Beatles played ,just wish You could come to Scotland sometime. keep going What you're doing, best wishes Margaret from Scotland x
walter is a guitar god
Hi Andy so great to hear you I'm doing up a flyer for your gig New Year's Eve in Moree and googled you and found this. Thanks for such a great interview!
Unreal Live band! Saw them this year
Found these during lockdown and was blown away due to the fact they do a lot of my fave bands , however are they the best cover band in America I would say is debateable . What about Band Geeks or HSCC , who are both also from the U.S.A and both excellant .
@davidtemple5934 I reached out to HSCC and they weren't interested.
Bring back Amanda Carter!
I've been attending their annual concerts in Lexington every labor day for the last 5 or 6 years! LLB is awesome!!!
Awesome interview!
@@redondorocket2680 Thank you!
awe some !!!!!
Apparently, Jimi called Billy from London in 1966 to ask him to come over. However, Billy was otherwise indisposed. A shame, because his bass playing was / is amazing, and he, Jimi and Mitch worked brilliantly together.
There was no definable bass sound or groove until Billy played.. his playing on Cry of Love is amazing
@@JohnFraserFindlay I agree with the second part of your comment. However, the first is somewhat exaggerated. Noel's playing on tracks like "Highway Chile", for example, certainly has a definable sound and groove - even though I always think about what Billy would've done with it when listening to it. As an aside, I should also correct my previous comment. According to Billy, Jimi rang him from New York after meeting Chas Chandler in 1966, not from London.
I love John's words about Chas, even though they're not connected to Electric Lady. Otherwise, there's not enough John, here!
Fascinating and moving. Essential listening for anyone into Jimi 🎸
@@pchcolley I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
McDermott speaks so authoritatively but I wish he'd look after his health more, he's so overweight and even his hair is a mess. Needs to ditch that american fast food and eat more fruit and veg.
What a waste of the time you have as a kid. Go outside and play...get a life, then learn how to pose in public and develop your narcissism...later.
Besides the music, great young adult .
Nothing new.
Not to belabor the point but how does a 14 y o kid from Nashville get “ noticed” in a viral moment from a guitar industry show in Dalla TX. Monetary support and purchased publicists. The artist you need to be looking for are those kids that started a band at a young age (14,15) but were serious about what they wanted to do and have been hammerin away at it for 4 or 5 years.
That’s exactly how it happened 😂😂
@@dannyguitarwoodgarwood3867 no offense intended. You’re a very talented player who is on his way. I truly love what is happening in and around Nashville with our homegrown talent. Daniel Donato’s meteoric rise based on his extraordinary talent, vision and insane work ethic comes to mind. There are several active solo and full bands playing the edges and knockin it out of park night after night. Some are extraordinary players, some exceptional songwriters, some incredible vocalists and then a few that are all the above. Henry Cruz Band, Snowbird Hollow, Hi Horse, Jake Berman, Jaid, just to name a few. As it seems with your success , these cats would be playin guitar every day somewhere with or without an audience. Just pure unadulterated passion. In fact i was just pinged that HCB and JAID are playing one of the cooler small venues tonight up in Nolensville. Outdoor venue called “When Pigues Fly”. Its being billed as 3 sets. One from Jaid ,(incredible singer songwriter) and a double header from Henry Cruz Band. I’m familiar and have seen both before. If you aren’t covered up come on over. It is a really cool spot. BYOB , reasonable Jackalope Brews, and a food truck or two. Bout a mile into Wilco. Your on your way dude. Strike while the iron is hot. Nashville is the single most competitive environment on the planet for a guitar player. Thats why once a Nashville band begins to travel, they get noticed. If an artist is “payin’ them dues” on one of the 209 stages in Nashville they are excellent or getting excellent fast. Anything less and they are waiting tables.
@@dannyguitarwoodgarwood3867 one last thing. The only thing I play is the radio. I do love live music and will drop almost anything to see a good show. Im not genre specific at all. As long as its done well I can dig a solid bluegrass outfit every bit as much a a solid jazz ensemble.
You need to get out more. Nashville has no less than 2 doz bands giging in town with members under 21. There is one band thats been gigging in Nashville since they were 14 to 17 years old. The ONLY reason they arent known nationwide is that they were too young to travel. More and more in Nashville studios headhunt well to do Brentwood types whose folks will cough up the cash to rent studios, by all the best gear, etc. Swift is example one. They get notoriety as a novelty. Oh the band i was referring too is the Henry Cruz Band and yes they can play the “one more from the road” version to perfection. When those kids were playing a show in Murfreesboro TN a fairly sober gent seriously wanted them to cover it. It was a small club about 60 folks Guy yelled “ what does it take for yall to play “Freebird”. Henry quipped from the stage, “ we respond well to cash”. Dude dropped a 50 in the pot and they dropped a spot on cover that blew the crowd away.
They have paid their own way every step of the way, written around 30 songs ( and counting) finally after much tooth gnashing over costs, got a demo e p done. They have finally all gotten out of h s. One member turned down an engeneering academic scholarship and is changing oil at quick lube during the day and writing , arranging, and playing at night. Lots of people pouring their souls into music do it for the sheer love of creating something folks dig.
Dime a dozen, nowa days.
I seriously doubt the title of this video.
Question : After the last European tour was abandoned due to Billy Cox getting dosed with lsd , why did Jimi hang around London ? Why not fly back to New York and finish the album ?
Fantastic song, Good Book I just saw a post on Instagram, they announced they were wrapping up touring with the One & One & One is Three mini-tour, performing three big shows at Ziggo Dome Amsterdam, each featuring diff albums; upcoming Nov 2 & finishing on Dec 28, 2024. Sept 20 was the first of the close-out final shows. They said they've done all they set out to do, did it for 10 years and it is time to bring it to an end.
@synchronicity1470 Coming soon exclusive interview with Jac Bico lead guitarist with the Analogues.
@@TroutShow Thanks so much!! I love Bart. The IG post confuses, as other searches show more dates. I do hope they cont' on as long as they possibly can. Also, I realize the remaining Beatles may be jaded by their fame & especially other tribute bands. I am not so sure they would brush off The Analogues if they knew their work ethic & attention to detail. These guys take it to a whole diff level!
LLB is great. Their counterparts in Australia are Hindley Street Country Club, who are a collective that covers the old stuff with different singers and musos tho with a core group. They are at least on the same level as LLB. Both groups are resurrecting the classics from the 70s on and doing them arguably even better than the original artists. Both have a deserved growing following. Kudos LLB from an Aussie. 🙂
Check out the " Singit Live" channel! They are Awesome! Not sure if they are a band but they share alot of musicians with HSCC! I Check out their cover of Rosanna by Toto! Way better than HSSC version!
