Another great day at Kumeu.
The weather came right and the sun came out and there were plenty of great vehicles to see.

The first day of the 2025 Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival has come to an end and it's time to rest up ready for a big full day tomorrow. I'll be here all weekend , so I'll be checking out as much as I can, and hopefully I can show you some cool stuff. See you then.

All the races from Round 3 of the NZ Jetsprint Championship from Shelter View Jet Sprint track near Whanganui. All the thrills and some spills from this amazing sport. This was my first Jetsprint event , and i was blown away by just how quick these things are and how fast they turn. Add in some beautiful weather and a great venue and it all added up to a fantastic days racing.

This is the 2024 Robert Holden Memorial race from the Whanganui Cemetery Circuit Boxing Day street race. This is the race they all want to win, and this year it includes Isle of Man TT stars Peter Hickman and Davey Todd.

We took a ride up to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park to check out Caffeine and Cars a while back. It was the weekend before Mad Mike Whiddetts" Summer Bash , so we were lucky enough to see (and hear) a couple of the cars. I love being there watching but I never want to be in one. I live in Australia and have been to a few races here.

This use to be a huge event when I was a kid. You would see Moto GP and World Superbike ranked racers come to NZ during their off season to race in it. Unfortunately, it's just another event these days with average riders and it's marketed so poorly.
Average riders? The fastest ever rider to lap the tt with 14 tt wins, peter hickman. Snr tt winner Davey Todd. Nzsbk ledgen Tony Rees, and son mitch rees. British Supersport rider Morgan mclaren wood. It's not what it used to be but nethier is anything in new zealand. Lap records where set this year and the top guys aren't just "Average".
Was a primo day,met the fast lads from abroad etc.T shirt,luv the street racing rich history thier.cool video mate.

Scary incident there. I suspect that the crowd will be even further back from the course in that area next year, and perhaps the fence will be higher? Cheers for the video, much appreciated!
@@clifffield1 Thank you for taking the time to watch it. Yes it really shows how much faster they are going than it looks by how far that travelled. Definite 'Code brown' for some of those spectators for sure.

Yea it was good . We rode down from Hamilton and was wet roads all the way. Glad it was dry for the racers.

I raced a 400 round there way back in the day and that was awesome fun. I don't know how they do it on the big bikes.

Was an awesome race. The whole day was awesome especially with the lap records being broken.
It sure was an excellent day, so lucky with the weather considering the forecast. Davey Todd was amazing riding all those different classes.

no worries, i've got a few sort of random clips i'll post soon that give some different views of the circuit. It is a great event to go to if you can. And you can get some cracking roads in on the way there , which is fun too. Cheers

I used to go to kumeu car show every year with my dad I've got great memories of being sunburnt as and hung over as, living in Oz now so haven't been in ages
