Create Stunning Custom GIft tags with AI and your Cricut!
Imagine Art Link: www.imagine.art/
In this tutorial I will be showing you how to use a free AI program to create custom images for your Cricut projects. This should be used for personal use only. First go to your search engine and search for Imagine Art and click on the link. I also have the link in the description of this video. On the top right corner click sign in. If this is your first time create an account or sign in. Once the home page opens then click on Generate image. This program has free features but you are limited. Under model and style the ones without a crown are free. The rest of the setting are not able to be altered using the free version. Now I am going to go to the bottom and type in Christmas Mickey kissing Minnie under the mistletoe. As you can see Mickey has many extra hands and fingers. So I am going to add the negative prompt and try again. Each image takes a few moments so be Patient. This one is great. So I am going to click the download image button on the top here to use for my project. I have so much fun with this program. I encourage you to explore all the different styles and create your perfect project! It is not perfect and is constantly improving. Now we need to get this uploaded into Cricut design space. Open Cricut design space and start a new project. Click on upload and find your image. I like to click complex then, continue. You can crop the image if you choose. When using Image Art it does download the watermark onto the image. Some images you can crop this out. In this case it won’t matter and will be very difficult to see. Do this same process for as many images as you wish to use. Add them all to your canvas. Now for gift tags I chose the rounded corner square. Unlocked the size icon and made a rectangle. I changed the color of the background so you can see this better. Next I need to add the text. I typed to and from and aligned it from center to left. Now I found a text that I liked and size it. Before you duplicate this you want to click on flatten on the bottom. This will make the image where it will print the words and cut out the rectangle only. Duplicate it and take your first image and size it. Then I centered each image on to the square and placed each rectangle as close together as possible where it can still have space to cut each rectangle out. Once I made the first row I highlighted the entire row and duplicated it twice. I placed each row as close as possible to the next. Once the placement is complete. I like to attach the entire group of tags, this will keep them from being rearranged when you go to cut them out. I also want to flatten everything once again so that the image and writing are printed instead of trying to cut out each image. If you notice a red symbol over here that means that your image is too big for print and cut. They now have the option of auto resize. It will automatically make the image the correct size to be able to print and cut. I always feel like print and cut leads to a lot of wasted materials. At this time there is not a lot we can do about that. Now you are ready to make it. Connect your cricut to your computer or device. The first step is to print your stickers. I chose to use sticker paper for the ease of it but you can also use printable vinyl or just regular paper and tape them if needed. Select Send to printer and choose your printer. I toggle bleed to off since they are just cutting out the rectangle. Bleed allows your sticker to not have a white border. Next I like to select use system dialog so that I can make sure I have a quality print job. I then minimize cricut design space and make sure my printer is selected. Along with media quality and I like to choose photo paper matte finish for my stickers. This gives me the best quality without any white lines. Then Select print! Once my stickers have printed now I need to cut them out with my Cricut. Select your material. In my case I select sticker paper and continue. It is important to make sure you’re your paper is straight on the cutting mat. Your cricut reads the black lines to make sure it gets the cuts correct. Once my paper is loaded continue and hit the triangle to start cutting. This takes a little bit of time read the lines and cut but in the end you have beautiful custom tags you can make for any occasion!

    It tears white cardstock (any weight), but cuts other colors fine. I've tried both the fine point and the deep cut blades. I've tried different settings, including intricate, default, light, yada yada...It's driving me nuts. I need to use white paper yardstick and have spent hours trying everything.

    • @kristenscricutcorner2258
      @kristenscricutcorner2258 8 місяців тому

      That is so frustrating and odd. I would think it wouldn't cut any paper if it was a setting or blade issue...... you have me stumped.

    • @RaulUNC
      @RaulUNC 8 місяців тому

      @@kristenscricutcorner2258 I really appreciated that you took the time to respond, even if you didn't have an answer. I was using the same Reflections cardstock from all the videos for my project and that I was using for portions in color. After a dozen attempts playing with settings and blades and no success, I dug up some 20 year old cardstock from an old project and it worked. It seems to be something in the way the fibers of that brand are laid, perhaps. The dye also seems to help to stiffen/strengthen it in the colored versions. You can feel the difference in colored vs white, even though they are supposed to be the same weight. Anyway, THANKS :) Maybe my rambling will help someone else having the same problem. ;)

      Do you have an air printer? Have you been able to print from other programs besides design space? Cricut design space troubleshooting suggests go to settings, unpair your machine and reconnect to see if that can fix the issue? Hope you can get it to work!

    When I put a square over the image I want to slice, I selected everything and the slice option did not light up?

      Same.

      You can only slice two layers at a time. So make sure that as you are building your image you either combine or slice your layers as you go so that you only have 2 layers. Then the slice will light up once it is selected.
