*VERY* Yardbirds, and that’s a great thing. At least here it is.
not Todds nazz band . i guess its Alice's band . pre im 18
Terrible
Fabulous!
Is this available on CD?
It’s on the CD boxed set “The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper”, so yes.
Every step you take Every breath you make brings you nearer to this Gem. Rog. Pacific Sunset( LA).
The elements that made the ACG great are already there. Just a few short years from the big time, or as Glen Buxton would say, "The big mahops."
This is when 60's garage was changing into psychedelic sounds. Good stuff!
Kool!
Good stuff.
Todd Rundgren somehow heard this Alice Cooper Nazz 45 in 1967 and formed his own Nazz group based on the sound of this one record.
Love Alice’s early stuff. The beginnings of greatness.
yes indeed <3
Isn't it something Frankie...this song is incredible...to me it sounds like a Michael Bruce composition...but credited to all... including John Speer...I like it way better than "Don't blow your mind"...which I think was more successful...
Its Alice Cooper....Vincent Damon Furnier,
wow I haven;;t heard this yet , my high school self would have creamed his jeans.
This is good
dissed & underrated. Too bad. Pretties for you & Easy Action are great records.
It sounds a bit like Sam Gopal
Prefer the longer version on Alice Cooper's "Easy Action" album. First album i ever bought.
Even these early singles show that a) they were an ace garage rock band and b) they 'had it' even then. I like the album too but Pretties does come off like an oddball mess. Which they did say it was just a rehearsal and wasn't meant to be the actual album until Zappa just decided to release it as is (because FZ thought they a disposable one-shot joke--love Zappa but it shows how much he knows.) But these early singles show the AC definitely had their shit together already. Well, until Ezrin REALLY got em in shape!
Ezrin assembled the pieces of songs into masterpieces.
cool shit man
good......................
WHAT?!?!? They ripped this song off of Alice Cooper!
Sarcasm I hope.
@@andrewsinclair9470 Boo . . . I don't think it required your response.
@@TheIndependentLens you would be surprised at how someone might say this in all seriousness. Or, hell, maybe you wouldn't be.
@@brandonhendrix7223 I'm going to go out on a limb here...and guess...if you're a big enough Cooper fan to be familiar with their first 2 albums...u probably know about The Spiders...The Earwigs...and The Nazz 😁
@@TheIndependentLens that's all it takes for you to get butthurt?
Love this early AC- influenced by "Evil hearted you" by the Yardbirds. give it a listen....
Yes, almost to the point of plagiarism… but this is still a great song.
great
So,no connection to Rundgrens old group the Nazz right?
Funny you're the only one to mention that!
Nope. In fact that's why they changed their name. Good thing for them! It was the whole Alice Cooper name/trip that got them noticed before people realized how great they were.
@@brandonhendrix7223 makes sense,thank you
@@edwardregemann9410I was thinking of that, too
So nostalgic, thanks for uploading this!
great Yardbirds proto doom!

Got a yardbirds feel to it 🤔♥️
And Kinks too
You are the only censor. if you don't like what I say, you have a choice. you can turn me off.
Amazing (if true)
@@herrfister1477 Try it.

This Is Pretty Cool...Kinda The Zombie-esk...Kinda Sound....
Heavy 60s Love it.
Says Nazz from Phoenix? Michael, if you are involved in posting "Wonder who's Loving Her Now". Thanks. My 45 of it, is in storage. Hadn't heard it in years. The 'kid' and I were talking about you today...very nice things! The record came up. Didn't know if I could find it under Nazz/Spyders...but here it is! Of all your songs, this was always my favorite. Could it have been that long ago? Very special. Blessings, from "the one who got away"
❤️
Holy Sh*t! How did I never hear of this one before?
this sux
@@markthor4698 not really
You've never heard of Alice Cooper?
@@davidhelton7810 😄 Yes, I have. Actually met him. I'd never heard this track. It's not even on the box set.
"Well I've written home to Mother..." known this lyric for 30 years but never heard this version. Wow!
Me too ...I use to think it was so bizarre...when sitting there listening to the "Easy action" version...😂
Wow! I've been a fan of the early Coop since the 70s and I never knew this existed. Thanks for sharing.
alice nazz vs tod nazz
Alice was more Nazzy Than Todd The Runt...imo
Happy 70th birthday Alice Cooper ♥
Totally fuzzing and epic and mind blowing garage psych of the highest calibre!🎸👍🏽🕺🏽
Talk about a band who admires the Yardbirds - wow!
Yardbirds never did it for me.
@@gogoyubari366 Were you born after 1960? Maybe you don't have the memories of how amazing they were compared to everything else around.
@@fretts The Yardbirds in the small faces are the two most underrated bands from that time. The sad part is that they were just doing what they would do. That's the beauty of this time. The mid-60s is like the only time period in modern music where nothing was controlled in a certain way. It just sort of happened. If The Yardbirds had a prime year it was 1965. If they only could have carry that in the 66 and 67. It will always break my heart that they never made a great album. They have so many great tracks. Having a rave up is collectively their best album. And the first half of Roger the engineer is killer. I never understand why they didn't go into the studio like so many other bands from that time period in England and make a great record. I can't believe somebody didn't direct them in that way. Small faces made several great albums in a row and had a whole slew of singles. This time period my most favorite in music. It's interesting watching at this point what bands Will survive time. To me the most underrated American band from this time period will be the byrds. In that six or seven year period all the albums they released were great. In Kmart in 1988. They had the budget CDs and I bought notorious byrd Brothers. I try to tell everybody to check out the monkees head album. The list is long during this time period.
Alice Cooper beginnings! Check the writers, Vince Furneier (Alice), Mike Bruce, Glen Buxton (RIP) Dennis Dunaway and Tom Speer (writer not band member, drums are Neal Smith. All fellow alumni from my HS Cortez HS, Phx. Az. all Cross Coutry teammates as well. Used to have huge garage parties at one point weekends sometimes wit Ronnie Montrose showing up as well. I can't share photos here, but have plenty of the Furnier and Buxton homes where the parties were held, block from school, Furneir's were across the back alley. Check out dennisdunaway.com and Google the others.
Al Heinzeroth actually, the drums are done by Speer. Neal Smith joined the band replacing Speer later in that year (1967)
Nick Mason mentions the Nazz as having played the same bill as Pink Floyd did when they came over to play San Francisco
"Cortez...I miss you"
stunning... wow!
Beautiful, thanks!!
Alice Cooper early band.
Far out. Even better than the Easy Action version.
