Goldrunner Adagio
This is an adagio version of the Goldrunner theme arranged for strings. I knew what I wanted with this, but at first it was a struggle. Later on the arrangement started to come together, and I just went along with the direction. Sibelius software is great for composing!
This is dedicated to the programmer Steve Bak. I spent a day with him, and he converted my old 6502 into 68000 for the game. If I remember the code worked first time, and the only error(s) was in my actual music data.

This is from the old c64 Dragons Lair 2, tune number 7, with a couple of other bits from another sub tune.
go go dash piano only Rob Hubbard

This is a quickly done slower, more dreamy, piano versions of the title tune form the game go go dash, which was for a mobile phone game, developed by Hull College, back in May 2018. The original was very upbeat/optimistic 80's synth tune, produced by Max, and had Chris on guitar. The piano goes on a bit, but the video of the plane is really cool! Don't forget this! www.kickstarter.com/projects...

Variation on a theme from Dragons Lair 2, composed during the 1st lock down. This is closest to some of the original in many ways. Does it bring up images of the country side - by accident? This was the last one to be completed after getting stuck with the original ideas. this would be very cool, if we make it. www.kickstarter.com/projects/8-bit-symphony/8-bit-symphony-pro-second-half-20-more-c...

A very different take on a theme from Dragon's Lair 2. This was done in a couple of days during lockdown, and captures my mood at the time. Slow tunes are harder to write than fast tunes, but can be much more fulfilling.

This piece was written during virus lockdown, and basically gets into variations of 15/8, and how it can be divided up.Scoring programs make this sort of writing so much easier, than pen and paper. Please comment if I missed any combinations! This very 'trippie' piece is based on a part of a theme from Dragons Lair 2, and was written during Covid lockdown. The video is part of Electric Sheep Fractal Animation, by a very clever chap. electricsheep.org/ I just really love this fractal math stuff! oh, and please back this KS www.kickstarter.com/projects/8-bit-symphony/8-bit-symphony-pro-second-half-20-more-c64-epics/description

This is from the game Go Go Dash which was produced by Hull College. It features Chris Garfied on guitar, and was produced by Max Hall. Old video of proper cars is fitting.
commando high score Fastloaders and Rob Hubbard

The very end of the gig, and most likely my last ever tune played live! Fastloaders are great players who should be out there touring and making mega bucks - it's sad that they aren't. It was a privilege coming out of retirement (last gig was 2012), and playing with these guys. It would of been really cool to do more improv with them, but they play to a pre recorded backing track. Amazing that ...

This was done with Sibelius and Noteperformer. Some lovely old scenes of San Francisco.
Wonderful performance. I met all the old legends in real life: like Rob Hubbard, Chris Huelsbeck, Ben Daglish. Matt Gray, David Wise etc.
I don't know if you'll read this Rob, but a big thank-you for all your musical creations. I've been enjoying reading all the details in the fantastic "Master of Magic" this week to appreciate that rare combination of musical and coding skills that gave so much enjoyment to a generation. (Also great to hear more Fastloaders performances in the accompanying archive!)
Loved this in 85 through a SID chip, love this nearly 40 years later. The GOAT of gaming music. Inspired by, but much better than the Dick Barton theme. Thank you, Rob!
Jarle Olsen is a fucking beast
Hero no 1
Fuckin hell! 🎸🥁🎶🎸
I'm willing to give.my vote on July 4th to the party that promises to make Rob Hubbard a fkn MBE
They talk about electronic musik artist like Mike Oldfield, Kraftwerk and a lot of others and only a few knew the real electronic musician. There are dozens others which also nobody knows like Ben Daglish. He also played with Fastloaders.
Our hero.
SUPER !
0:19 The intro is _stolen_ from Monty on the Run. ;)
Hmm stealing from myself!
@@robhubbard161 Yes-yes, or should we call it musical watermarking?
I think it still surprises Rob that we’re listening to and talking about his music 40 years later.
wtf youtube? Why is this only just now in my suggestions?
How cool is this!!
Rob Hubbard the SID Master !
Wow just found didnt know you had youtube channel, great inspiration to many rob
Mesmerising - my childhood, my C-64 and the wonderful music of Mr. Rob Hubbard. Utter legend.
Finally that part played on a guitar at accurate speed and with only one incorrect note around 3:12 .
Massive talent !! made the games infinitely better with his music and sound effects, such a genius and humble human being.
AMAZING ! WELL DONE BOYS Rob Hubbard is a legend
You, sir, are master of my childhood. If I want any song on my funeral, it will be this song and on scree will be my sign on the top of the chart - Fox. Thank you.
ARE YOU THE REAL ROB HUBBARD?
The most beautiful music in the world!
I only play Commando for this music.
Holy crap! The guitarist really nailed it! So nice to see Mr Hubbard himself joining them.
This is wonderful. Great memories.
Rob, thank you for the sound of my childhood 😊
Hello, do you have any sheet music that you can send me of your piano music that you did back in 2003?.
Hi, I just used a basic lead sheet - that is a melody sketch with some chord symbols. There are a couple of tunes scored out as piano pieces, and I do have some of those sketches. thanks Rob
Most accurate (and unflinching in the face of technical difficulty) rendition I’ve heard!
Klingt wie nach Rob Hubbard ???
I'm cheering myself up by working through my favourite videos list. Lovely to hear this again :D
excellent. Love the powerful ending
Amazing
epic!
WOW this is Amazing.
Mr Hubbard, Nice to see you here. This could be the title song of a proper movie, something with a historic theme. Thank you for sharing it with us, hopefully you'll entertain us with more sound bites.
you deserve a better audience than this! come to berlin and give me a call! :)
Remembering the first time I heared this song yawdropped on my C64. I can't remember the game but the music has been impressioned in my mind.
Wonderful piece of art. It's good to see you are still creating new compositions and have your own channel. Surprised you don't have more subscribers! By the way you came up with many great solos for your C64 and Sega Mega Drive music. I think that was a real creative skill, being able to compose synth solos using the mindset of how a guitar or piano player would approach it.
Fantastic. Brought back very good memories. Thank you.
Rub Hubbard, today I found your music from my memories: it was in an Amiga cracktro of Syndicate (the Bullfrog game) and I searched it for thirty years, because it is the single music that remembers me my childhood (with Cannon Fodder intro and Sensible Soccer 1.1 main theme - Frontier soundtrack also). THANKS
thank you Rob Hubbard for letting me know this musical and programing masterpiece for about 40 years of my life
Absolutely epic Rob (great job Fastloaders). If this version of the song had lyrics, what would they be?
Rob Hubbarb is to C64 Games, as Ennio Morricone is to Spaghetti Westerns
Rob invented game music.
Dear Rob. If you read this. You were the musician that i knew best, growing up. So many fond memories. Thank you so much. When I hear your music I think of my Father who passed away. We used to play C64 games together.
Thanks for the kind words. We always identify with tunes and music we heard whilst growing up, and they evoke a strong sense of nostalgia!
@@robhubbard161 indeed. I did not expect you’d actually reply. So that made my day. Cheers!
I Would 💖 To Hear (and See) Trans-Siberian Orchestra Cover Mr. Hubbards' Creations That Have MESMERIZED Me Since My Pubescent Years🤘🏼👍🏼✌🏼
What a f...ng masterpiece!!
Fantastic version !!!
Ron hubbard’s piano solo and accompaniment/improvisation in the piano is lights out! Love the Fastloaders but including the legend himself puts this over the top! I’ve always loved how the Fastloaders pay tribute so well to the great C64 composers.
I wish i grew up with this song, but i was born a bit after my parents got rid of the C64. xD
finally get to hear the guitar solo done by guitar, excellent :)
