Stick with it. This has some great moments. Sorry about the hunting. Still learning this camera. But it kinda adds something in a way.
Try and make it to the end. Whoever did this one did a great job. It actually was, a Grand Finale for the annual fireworks show.
All shot on A7 IV with a Sigma 100-40 lens mostly at about 120 mm focal length.

Here are three segments of the USA entry. The title was, "Tie Dye Sky". An excellent name for it. I thought it would start to rain hippies and micro-busses at one point. This was shot on the Sony A7 IV with a 100-400 lens from a decent distance away. Most of this i did in stills. I'll try and figure out where to post the best stills that maintain the quality of the images.

Please make sure you set the little gear to 4K to get a sense of this. This was the final moments of Canada's entry in the Lac Leamy annual fireworks competition. It was very very good. This is a segment of the fireworks competition every year in Gatineau. The best part of this short clip I think is at the end where they seem to create the illusion of ice crystals forming in the sky. This was all shot on the A7 IV with a 100-400 Sigma lens. Focus is not perfect I don't think.

This is France's entry into the annual Lac Leamy fireworks competition and it was spectacular. This is just the last few minutes, but the show was symphonic. I gave up taking stills because the show was all designed to see the sequence of events rather than moments. I wish I had the focus a little better and a faster lens. But it turned out OK This is a Sony A7 IV with a Sigma 100-400 lens

Please make sure it is up to 4K to get a fair look at how this worked out. Managed to get a great spot to film the fireworks from not too too far away. Ok this is a first test of a Sony A7 IV. This is shot with Profile 1 and frankly, was basically not grade-able in the sense that its not a flat profile. But also, I have very little idea of what I am doing. One or two clips I added rec.709 to linear LUT and it really popped those segments but made others too dark so I removed it. This was filmed in Ottawa, July 1st for Canada day from a great high location East of the fireworks. I used a Sigma Fp, a Rokinon 85mm Cine lens, a Ninja V set to Prores 4:2:2 and basically I didn't do anything to the footage. It was basically as good as it was gonna get out of the Ninja. I might have crushed a bit of noise with contrast is all.

I had access to a rooftop in Ottawa last night and noticed there was a near constant but silent lightning storm south and west of my location. So I set up my Sigma Fp and Ninja V with a 35 MM Cine lens and grabbed about 20 minutes of it and cut out the spaces in between to make it about 2:20 altogether. Its not graded much, basically its just right out of the Ninja with a little extra contrast....

Just bought an ATOMOS Ninja 5 to see if it could give new life to my Sigma FP cine cam, which i was gonna retire for that purpose. So last night I got the Sony Xperia Pro-i and was pretty skeptical about it. So I did some test shots last night and today. I have a long way to go before I can say I know how to use it. My 120 FPS shot is a disaster unless I pretend it was an art shot and I wanted it that way, but its way blown out and awful. However... All the other shots so far are amazing and hands down better than the S20 ...

Saw up to three of these guys on one tree Aug 11 Ottawa East end. You can go months without seeing one, and I saw no less than 4 within a half hour today.

This is footage of the largest woodpecker in North America by breed. It posed very nicely today. It was shot on a Samsung S20 Ultra with grading by Cinema grade, and shot in 4K but exported down to 1080p

La intención y el esfuerzo son buenos y encomiables pero el resultado es bastante pobre ... Las guitarras en el exterior, sin amplificar, apenas se oyen y, a excepción de la pequeña y bellísima mujer de rojo que baila con gracia y talento, lo demás es un desbarajuste poco atractivo. Se salva también el bailador, al que se le percibe dominio y maestría, además de la mujer que inicia el video con gracia y soltura. En fin, a mejorar pasándolo bien.
Deja de criticar. Bastante bien lo hacen(de hecho lo hacen muy bien!), puesto que ni es su baile nacional ni su cultura. No son profesionales,son personas a las cuales encanta el flamenco, algo por lo cual debemos sentirnos honrados.

I am very happy with them. So far I am just using the kit 45 mm lens, but I am very happy with the stills. Still learning the camera though. I will get more of what I want in tough situations as I master different metering modes. But night shots are hypnotic and day shots are fantastic so far.
I bought the Sigma 24 70 art lens and wow what a difference. Stills are so sharp and colors and lens flares are amazing. Super happy with it now.

so it only takes sigma lens? is there an adapter to mount lenses from other manufacturers?
It takes L mount which is Leica. You can get adaptors to L mount but Im not ready for that yet. B&H has a lot of full frame L mount lenses for it and I hear Sigma is coming out with another line of them soon.

Your Video looks amazing on my 2K 144hz computer screen Thanks for sharing Once you get into the 4K DNG 12 bit raw to an external recorder you will be quite happy And then to mess around in Camera RAW or Light room..........WOW,..........Just WOW But you'll need a 2K or 4K monitor to appreciate it (Not youtube compression) I'll have to capture my Dad this Sunday on my "FP" (He's the organist and mom's the choir director) But their church isn't as Nice as this one, Just Beautiful Best wishes for the Holidays to you and your family and kindest regards, Rick
It can record 4K 12 bit to an external drive like a Samsung T5. I tried that already. I need lessons on this thing though. But super happy with what I have gotten so far on it. Any tips appreciated. What kind of external recorder do you recommend? one that does real Raw? or do you mean external HD like the T5?
@@JamesCohenCaravan Sorry...........Yes I meant External SSD I use the Sandisk 2TB Here: amzn.to/2M7IdWz It's super small and fast..... Have you edited your 4K 12 bit raw using Adobe Camera Raw? or what are you using to color grade?
@@rickvestuto Thank you! Does that allow for 12 bit raw the way T5s do? Also, what has your experience been shooting 12 bit raw with it? Does it grade well? I noticed you cannot really use the built in colour profiles with it but I haven't played with it on DaVinci much yet grading or anything. Does it grade anything close to what r3d files do?
Oh sorry just noticed the question. I use DaVinci Studio, but I could also use lessons with that.
