Fix Your Climbing Shoe Hole for $9 in 5 Minutes (kinda)
NOT SPONSORED I've been using this strategy for many years ever since my Solution climbing shoe got a hole from indoor rock climbing. The glue repair over my small hole on my left climbing shoe has lasted over 2 years. The glue repair over my very large hole on my right climbing shoe will last 10-20 indoor climbing sessions before I have to reglue it. The regluing process only takes 5 minutes, a little bit of glue from a $9 bottle, and 24 hours of drying (I've gotten away with 9 hours though). Please watch the ENTIRE video as there are so many important tidbits that you cannot miss, or else you will mess this up badly.

    I came looking for this because I just had a video recommended about a guy who became paralyzed from hitting his back on a rock while skiing. This would have saved him from that and idc how much it cost it’s worth being able to walk….

    The Whatever for sure is a super cool fun board to ride if you make of ALL features on the mountain. The 3bt is love or hate, its great for pow, and freestyle, slushy conditions. But not so great for harder packed snow, riding flat base, or 50-50s on round features. It will be a bit washed out, overal its super poppy for the soft flex it offers, its a true can do it all if its the board for you. I see you have gigantic feet seeing your problem with choosing a good board. Yes the whatever is a good board, its fun, a wider platform, a very freestyle friendly. Your not a super tall guy isnt it? Id suggest look into party boards or board types offering more with with less lenghts for other options to overcome the boat feeling you describe on other boards. Boards like the warpigs are ment to be ridden quite short. And yeah, ofc Ryan thinks this boards “sucks”. Hes a carver, needs precision in the edges, needs a stiff camber to coil up the end of the carves. Its like a f1 driver giving a offroad vehicle and ask how they feel about..

    Snoboarder for almost 30 years. Ive been wearing Demon armor for the last 6 years. As a 47 year old snow I feel a lot less likely to get injured in most crash situations particularly if I were to get hit by some moron. It makes me feel like a linebacker. 6'5" 240 wearing armor I am not the guy you want to hit. Came here cause Im thinking of upgrading rom the burton wrist guards to the demon flex gloves.

    Note for female riders. I was wearing demon short for years after a break. Then last season I tried on my friends demon shorts for women and realised I’d been wearing men’s shorts. Changed to some women’s demon shorts and no longer feels like I’m walking around carrying a 💩 well maybe a little but the women’s shorts don’t hang down so low and fit better. Also I did buy demon full body armour a few years ago and although I looked like a bad ass I had to return it. I’ve tired a few in shops since and the problem is the chest. I don’t think any brand has been made by women. I get chest pain from the preasue. They need to be made to accommodate varied chest size and delicacy in this area. Leather armour historically was shaped for this reason. I also wear knee pads. I got some budget ones on a trip and have compared to demon and the budget ones are far more comfy, and have served their purpose well.

    I'd rather just get resoles, but this seems like it could be a huge life saver if you get a hole on a climbing trip where you can't easily resole or replace your shoes.

    All wrist guards do is transfer the forces up the arm into the forearm and elbow. Learn how to fall and stop falling on your hands. Your joints are supposed to move and flex when forces are transferred through them

    I have the same D30 pants and still manage to fracture my coxis. IMO not the best design because your tail bone can't take a full body weight impact and a small D30 pad on the tail only pushes it in more. It needs padding on the sides (cheeks) so the tail so is tucked in.

  • @JeremyLynnes
    @JeremyLynnes 8 місяців тому

    If you're learning this all makes sense (albeit a little expensive). Especially the butt pads. Wristguards are the one thing I'd keep using regardless of skill level (and a helmet of course) While years of boarding have trained me not to put my hands out, you never know. Not to say you're not going to fall or get injured even if you're an experienced boarder but the additional weight and the decrease in mobility killed the whole armor thing for me when riding (especially kneepads and chest protectors). At some point you'll be good enough that you're not falling all the time and you're not sitting in snow that you can 'grow out' of most of the armor. Just my 2 cents after 35+ years of riding snowboards in Tahoe.

    • @mr_vvs

    Definitely get wrist guards as a minimum. Broke my wrist first time trying snowboarding. The pain isn’t the problem, don’t really worry about that. It’s the medical costs from the surgery that was painful, and the inconvenience of working one handed for awhile.

  • @johannessporer
    @johannessporer 9 місяців тому

    I hope this is a late april fool video, otherwise this is the biggest bs I've seen in a while. You can let your shoes resole for around 40$ before they are worn completly through and get a new life out of your shoe without compromising performance. Amd when you actuakly want to climb with slippery glue tips then don't waste 200$ for Solutions anyway ;)

    • @richardlee5412
      @richardlee5412 2 місяці тому

      where do you normally resole climbing shoes

  • @PankakeFFS
    @PankakeFFS 9 місяців тому

    At this point just wear sneakers as you aren't getting any benefit from wearing climbing shoes with no climbing rubber making contact with the footholds. Also if you don't climb outside and are mainly jumping about on big footholds, $200 shoes are pretty useless, just grab some madrocks or entry-level evolvs.

    • @MountainMitchYT
      @MountainMitchYT 9 місяців тому

      If I run my hand across my glue seal, it FEELS like it has more friction than the rubber. But maybe that’s just because there’s chalk sticking to it? In terms of being on the wall, I can’t tell the difference, I mean I smear tiny foot chips with these, but who honestly knows, maybe I’d be better if I had actual rubber under me. It’s certainly something I will test in the future, but that would result in me buying new shoes to test them lol. This is the exact reason why I put “kinda” in the title, because idk how other people are gonna like this, I just like it for myself, and wanted to share my experience. The bottom line is a full bottle of glue costs $9 and gives me a bunch of uses so I don’t get too mad at it.
