Documenting our clumsy adventures in the country. We may not be perfect but we’re learning as we go.
Replacing a leaking yard hydrant
Detected a leak below one of our yard hydrants. This thing is probably pretty old from previous owner. Luckily we live in an area with an 18" frost level, so it wasn't too much of a chore.
Materials list:
Everbilt two foot bury depth frost-proof yard hydrant
3/4 inch PVC schedule 40 male adapter
3/4 inch PVC elbow
PVC primer and cement

I thought I was going to see a huge pile, still satisfying
Picking or mulching
Moving from under the maple tree to a new wildflower area I’m trying to suppress the grass 😂
Does water percolates no problem there when it rains?
So far so good but the rainy season has just begun 🤔
Hold still! Lol 😊😅😂❤.
The chicken could not believe he had found food all by himself 😂😂😂

Can they be trained to eat the weeds and not the grass?
The only mode they have is ‘scorched earth’ 😂

Oh my goodness 😂 down here in Australia I’ve never seen snow. My tiny dog freezes in Aussie winters, he’s turn into ice in snow and so would i 💯💯🤣🤣🤣🤣 good luck little guys!
I’m obsessed with Australia but have never visited. One day 🤞
Duckies!
Hope you used treated wood, or cedar.
Treated for the steps. Used Douglas fir for the raised beds. Should last at least five years and is pretty cheap as far as lumber goes.
