Of course eletronic sound can be awesome, EQ, samples ans etc, but it takes out the purpose on playing acoustic drums. Will Hunt made some shows on eletric kit, he sometimes enjoys but it lacks the "main reason" to play instrument. The rawness is what we find interesting on seeing that a drummer is really playing. we dont NEED instruments, all comercial music can be digital made, but we want it because its a fun challenge and fun experience. Jojo Mayer has a great interview in that. We could all be a DJ, and it would work, but we dont think that is cooler than making music with your body and mind.
