Well this year Indiana beat both teams in last year's championship game (Michigan and Washington) and only lost to both teams in this year's championship game (O$U and ND). Not too shabby for Cignetti after IU only won 3 games last year!
This team for many of us long time, old fans, dating back to the 1960s, dispelled a former ever present dread that what ever lead this IUFB had, it would not ever hold up, disappointment loomed always, as past experience would predict the next missed tackle, TO or blown 3rd qtr lead w/ a blow out every 4th qtr, was expectedly ahead! I think they're reloading a more talented team for 2025. Cig keeps planning and working his plans!
I think if IU wins this game Notre Dame and Indiana will find a way to hammer out an earlier start to the series
Indians fans… y’all better appreciate this guy while you have him. He’s a superstar of a coach. With that said, Go Irish!
As a Notre Dame fan, the noise isn't as loud as other venues.
The CFB Committee has done away with the pre-season polls!
Go iU
I like the way Kurtis handles his business. Seems like a very bright and mature young man. GO HOOSIERS!
BEAT NOTRE DAME
Great season of coverage this year, as always!
has IUFB ever played against N Dame?
Just wanted to thank you for the IUFB content. Been with you guys for a long time. There has been much pain over the years. I’m much older and have suffered even more-my Freshman year in 1984 we were 0-11. But all that made this year all the more special.
IMO, IU cannot fall out of the CFP if they win as expected by 3+ TDs...a lot of troubling 'bad Ws' or stunning Ls are ahead on Sat by folks above IU in the CFP rankings - think the rejuvenated MI now playing top 10 O and D, and or prideful, storied USC, w embattled coach at home, against over confident ND w/ a very bad L history. Cigcess on Saturday!
If they need a double TE look for pass pro, particularly outside of the Purdue game, they need to look into it. Adapt and overcome!!
agree, like a 2nd TE lined up in a 'FB' position who can peel off as pass/screen option, and draws, RB screens and QB under center snaps, ie inside the blitzers, or farther away in the shotgun, etc, etc...I think Cig is the guy to figure out better adaptations to the super blitzes they're seeing since the 3rd qtr of MI.
or Ke'Shaun W in backfield - recall his excellent yards after catch at NW explosive long results can start from short quick passes....blitz Ds are vulnerable very quickly! Go Cig!
Maybe (!) only 9 teams better in the country ? Hard to really know that with such a weak schedule ? 2nd half against M was @ home too ! Not very impressive considering their record this season ? OSU lost a vital part of their OL 2 days before they played !!! Had that not happened the run game would have been much better. Even Cignetti felt fortunate @ half. Howard felt like they left at least 10 points out there ? = 24 - 7 @ half ? --- Knowles had removed some starters the last few minutes - and Cignetti hits the gas !!! A TD & 2pt extra + an onside kick ? He didn't quit (!) so why should Day @ the end ? -- All season Cignetti showed no mercy to anyone !!!!!! ---- 'Could' have been -- 48 - 7 -- very easily.
Looks like INDIANa will face Penn State
I dont think they get invited. I think its a major snub on tgeir 108th ranked schedule. Which sucks cause they do deserve it.
After playing OSU, their SoS jumped 50 spots so this is no longer accurate. They are now behind ND, SMU and Miami with the same record but better SoS…Go Bucks
schedule was ranked in the 50s after the OSU game
@@hoosierhuddle3248only due to OSU in which Indiana got killed
There are only a few teams in the country that the Hoosiers can't beat right now (Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Georgia). I would give us a real good chance of beating anybody else. I look forward to proving so in the playoffs.
Well, the Ohio state didn’t go as expected/ hoped. It does demonstrate that while IU has the heart of a lion, size and athleticism needs to take a leap to compete with the likes of the blue bloods. That said, I chuckled when it was suggested that you hope to play another blue-Blood, Notre Dame. IU would get demolished at every level. Let’s IU recruit son more talent before desiring that sort of punishment.
Notre Dame isn’t Ohio State
Curt? Are you giving me shit Curt?
For someone who has been an avid IUfb fan since the mid-70s, I really am living a dream. To dream of going 10-0 and being #5 in the country has always been beyond my realistic imagination. I'm enjoying every minute of this season.
it is the biggest IUFB game ever - clearly...and that is obvious because of who all you just said were going to cover the pregame...clearly unprecedented...this has massive national meaning for the whole top 12 new, unprecedented CFP! Besides the Jan 1968 Rose Bowl as a far 2nd, in over 130 yrs of IUFB history, tell me of any other significant 1 game w/ as many ramifications and consequences to the whole of CFB, and specifically, the FBS division! Cig did this, and even had the chutzpah to have 'pointed to center field' at this incredible possibility 11.5 mos ago, at a B1G interview in Indy!
I got Indiana money line. Let’s go Hoosiers
Yep me too!!!
Competitive means just do your job and go win the God damned game. No moral victories, yes this season is already successful, but we are humble hungry and never satisfied with where we are. Cmon guys, act like you believe
IU needs to keep doing what they've been doing, and they'll clean up the little things
You guys are rehashing the OLD INDIANA. that team is dead and buried. This IU team doesn't beat themselves. Never daunted!!!
@@TanisHalf-Elven did you watch the whole show?
I so love this man! He is what is right about the game. The game of football needs many, many more people like him. He has made me an Indiana fan. His down to earth, old school approach and his relentless work ethic and commitment to process and meticulous preparation are reminiscent of Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh. This Indiana program has a very bright future ahead of them. GO HOOSIERS!!!
Michigan Alum- so I am rooting for Indiana this year. Great Cinderella story
Go Hoosiers !!!!!!
Kick ohio states as period they been dominating us for long enough.
If IU keeps it close vs Ohio St and scores an offensive TD, IU should never be ranked behind Penn St again
IU is way better off playing in the B10 title game and losing than sitting it out. At 12-1, they almost surely get the coveted #5 seed, and play the lowest at large seed and the lowest auto bid team to get to the final 4.
SEC - Special Ed Conference
I also feel that if you have a recent trend of players skipping bowl games, you don't get benefit of the doubt when it comes to selection for CFP
Lot of cheap shots by Michigan. I almost feel like IU was playing not to get hurt because Michigan wasn't getting flagged for playing like a prison ghetto league team. They didn't want to win as much as they wanted to injure IU players on purpose.
Dear Lord, what a soft take.
yea not a thing lol
Finally a Hoosier Podcast that discusses the game intelligently! Thank you, I really enjoyed it! Subbed!
Jackson can lead us to victory no question. Let go Hoosiers
Rourke is starting
38-13 Indiana.
Chiles is so good, I don't see the score being close to that. He is dynamic. Look for MSU to be in the 20's in scoring on this susceptible Indiana D, with Chiles and those dynamic receivers as well. MSU has already scored 10 points and driving again with the ball in Indiana territory.
@ check the score again! Susceptible Indiana d? Have you even watched IU this season? Do you know where they rank defensively? This is a great defense. Indiana is the most complete team in the big ten and possibly even the country.
@@bassnerd4918 Yipes, i was wrong. I'm here to eat my crow. I thought it was going to be bad for Indiana
@ we all have had our fair helping of crow at some point 😂
I think MSU kicks 5 FGs and scores at least 1 TD...Rourke knows he has to play to keep those draft grades up...Heisman discussion means more money in the NFL
44-10 INDIANA
you definitely do not need an overall CFB governor or commissioner - just one extra rule limiting transfers per student per 5 yr career-that's it!
We don't need a super conference that will ruin college football
Agree 100% on the nil
If you go back and watch the Iowa vs MSU. That QB for MSU ran Iowa defense ragged! The hoosiers will really need to keep their 👀 on him at all times. He is shifty, and he can really run the ball. Hoosiers, keep him in the pocket and don't let him have anyone to throw too, or have no where to run too! Stay focused 💯 Stay hungry 💪 and don't let your guard down against this MSU team! They play good at home. Let's go Hoosiers!!!!!!!!💪💯🏈⚪️🔴
11-1 they definitely get in what are you talking about lol
@@billsfan3518 History. We’ll find out next Tuesday l, but they’ll make every excuse to keep IU out
If we go 11-1, we're in. That being said it's time to stop treating OSU as an automatic loss. We beat Nebraska by 49, and OSU almost lost to them. In Columbus. There's no reason why we can't beat the bucks this year
ELLISON IS A BEAST… IU HAD THE SAME TYPE OF BACK LAST YEAR… DIDN’T UTILIZE HIM… “CT”…. THIS TEAM IS SPECIAL!!
Stop complaining about waiting in line for bathrooms...
@@joelwonder5362 no line in the press box, but hit or miss the water works
Bro, all IU has to do is stay undefeated and beat OSU by 2 points and we beat Oregon and their crybaby tie breaker
Hope Washington woodsheds Oregon too
I loved the game as it was my very first one. The only thing I didn’t care for is where Indiana was trying to eat the clock which I’ve not seen this team do that all year. The part I didn’t like is they made it it so obvious that they were eating the clock, they should have at least huddled up and make it look like they were scheming up something. To me it looked like they were worried and was afraid. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.
@@grasscutter1963 why do they need to scheme something up.
@@hoosierhuddle3248 it’s just what teams do.
It’s a possibility that Indiana penn state and Oregon go undefeated being that they don’t play each other What happens then
@@angeloponds7381 there are tie breakers and probably some nonsense
