"Encounters with God: Zacchaeus the Tax Collector" - By Dr. E. Valdez (Luke 19:1-10)
The Gospel of Luke offers a unique story not found in any other Gospel...the account of Zacchaeus the tax collector. In this story, as Jesus is entering Jericho surrounded by a large crowd, Zacchaeus climbs a sycamore tree because "he wants to see Jesus." To his surprise, Jesus approaches and calls him out by name, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today." Moved by Jesus' blessing, Zacchaeus vows to give half his fortune to the poor and to restore anyone he's defrauded. Although Zacchaeus is a tax collector, one of the most despised professions in ancient Israel, Jesus blesses him and declares, "Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham." In this story, Luke aims to show his readers that no one is beyond the reach of God's mercy and invitation to the gospel.

"Heart, Mind & Soul - Part 1: What's Wrong with Me?" -Dr. E. Valdez (Romans 7:14-25) In this first session, we discover what's at the root of our brokenness...sin. And the best way to begin to restore our hearts, minds and soul is to learn to cope with sin, not merely as an action that displeases God, but as a condition that the Bible calls "the flesh."

Happy New Year
Make a video of your testimony brother we would like to hear.
So it is said abt 3:06 5 hrs ago meaning then it came around 2020ish or so around the time of Covid 19......what was the global atmosohere like spiritually..? Im sure Evil was around and im sure The Lord used Covid and its scares along with it Conspiracies all had an impact. I wonder many in the body of xhrist went thru an ordeal personally....Lawson was finally put tobthe Test in which he Failed. I was never a follower of him but i feel for those 1ks who did...he will give an acxount of his Cover up preaching yet The lord said it was time for it to be Disclosed and Here it is Folks..table turned over for him.
By Mr. Lawsons own belief system he would be considered unsaved. I have a Theory, John 6:40, Eph 2:8-9, John 3:16 and more. Yes Mr.Lawson should be held accountable, in the flesh. If he believes John 6:40 then he is still saved because we can not lose our salvation no matter what sin we commit. We all are sinners in word, thought and deed. Do not condemn Mr.Lawson, because what Jesus said in John 3:18.
Such a great way of putting things. I know so many ppl that aren’t voting so sad.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Our LORD bless you and keep you 🙏 ✝️ 📖.
You are so welcome, God bless!
I am not saddened by this as I do not know what God's plan is. Maybe God wants to show us that even though we think we are righteous, none are. Every single pastor commits sin to a varying degree. Every single Christian commits sin to a very young degree. There is only one in history that never committed a sin, My Lord and my Savior. Satan tests all of us every second of every day. Should Peter have been kicked to the curb because he denied knowing Jesus three times??? Dr Lawson slipped, what he does afterwards will determine who he is. Ultimately it doesn't matter to any of us who he is, it only matters to God.
Amen. All we can do is pray for Dr. Lawson and most especially for his wife and family. We are all sinners and can never forget we are dependent upon Christ in all things. Thank you for a great comment and perspective!
Amen and Amen!! Let’s keep praying for one another body ,soul and spirit.
I’ve been encouraged to leave reformed religion
I now have massive skeptisim for all preacher shouting loud on truth . My trust on them been betrayed. PREACHED MORAL TRUTH = LIVED HYPOCRISY 😵
Steve Lawson, more than anyone else in the many years that I have been born again, has influenced my theology and Christian life. His series on the attributes of God exposed how I had “squeezed” God into God is love, which He is, and shortsighted myself to His other attributes, such as wrath, justice, judgment, and vengeance. His teaching on the Trinitarian Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, showed how I had also locked Him into the Godman Jesus of the gospels, ignoring the resurrected Jesus who threatened churches in Revelation with serious consequences if they didn’t repent. It showed me that the Trinitarian Jesus, God the Son, is demanding when it comes to sin in the church - and in my life. Stop sinning! Steve’s teachings unmasked the sentimentalist Jesus I had grown accustomed to who is soft on sin: the Jesus of most of the American church and in my life: not the “real” Jesus. God used Steve to instill in me that Jesus “demands” me to live a holy life. I believe when saved you are saved forever. But Jesus is also my Judge, and of all born-again believers. He died so He will see the agony of His soul and be satisfied (Isaiah 53: 11); all born-again believers are the agony of His soul. And I want Him to be fully satisfied with me because I took sin seriously beyond new birth to live a holy life. God used Steve Lawson to teach me it and to move forward to where I am today - and the knowledge of the Word to keep moving forward until I reach heaven. Never once did I think of him as a celebrity preacher, nor on a pedestal - only as a man who rightly divided the Word of God. Be careful how you denigrate his work. And him. You could be guilty of sin right along with Steve.
Pastors are to be Blameless.
Salvó siempre salvo
Yeah these other pastors they to me didn’t hold the word correctly pastor Lawson did he belongs to Christ and the lord doesn’t loose any of his
How can Christian men indwelt with the Holy Spirit, fail again and again? Are they really even saved, and transformed by the Spirit? Doesn't seem so.
You should listen to Lawsons own words that he has preached as well as most others like him, they have condemned themselves by their own words, he said that those that do what he has done is a fool for fifteen seconds of pleasure, listen to him on his own sermon on purity. Are you going to say the same about Jim Baker, or Jimmy Swagart, or maybe you have, and I missed it, if so, I digress, did you?
We love you Steve Lawson and will be on our knees praying for you and your family🙏🏻You have lead many to faith in Christ. We worship a merciful and Loving God. Will still follow your solid preaching
Stop makeup Ng excuses, he knew what he was doing!!
This guy is just a man like everyone else. I am sure he has sinned plenty in his life like anyone else. Stop worshipping men. Lets stop being suprised when people sin or at least be honest enough with ourselves to not go off the deep end when someone we admire does
Discernment folks, discernment! and its not just about ticking the right theological boxes. Does the person have the fragrance of Christ? Gentleness, love etc when communicating. And sorry to say, but this man did not! Its not just charismatics/pentecostals that lack discernment
Free Grace is the only true gospel. Lordship salvation is absolutely not the gospel message. Steve Lawson is an unbeliever, an unsaved goat, reprobate minister of Satan, Calvinist, Lordship salvation heretic, backloading, double talking, fruit inspecting, devil ; and hes going to split Hell wide open someday. We are told to mark and avoid false brethren. He's been marked. How you live has absolutely nothing to do with salvation at all. That's for service. Salvation is absolutely free and not conditional upon service to God.
Well GOD is bringing to light the sins of these preachers.
You sure got that right
Did calvanists also forgive Ravi Zacharius?
Thank you for having Ann and the Lawson children on your heart 😢, pray for them. The dust settles at the church, but it never settles for them. It doesn’t mean Jesus doesn’t minister to their inner man, but this is the cruelest thing a husband can do to his wife. Ann has just “licked the floor of hell” (Lysa TerKeurst). Malachi 2:15 Didn’t the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth. Steven has overwhelmed his wife Ann with cruelty “saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” v16. My friend who had been raped said, “this is worse than rape”, and I agree with her. I can’t describe the sorrow that remains. Men please don’t leave this kind of legacy.
Amen and amen. Ann and the children...they are the victims, and they need our prayers. This is what it means to pray with specificity! We pray that God comfort them as victims. We pray that Ann be strengthened in this terrible event. We pray that God convict Dr. Lawson to repentance, and we pray that Trinity Bible Church forge ahead in faith. Thank you for your comment!
Calvinistic theology would have you believe that God predetermines everything that comes to pass, even the sinful decisions and actions people make. This puts the blame on God. In other words, God does not just "allow" these sinful actions, but rather God "makes" them happen. Calvinism is a man made teaching that undermines the holiness of God, and the responsibilty of man. We need more men who not only "KNOW" the truth, but "LIVE" the truth. 1 Timothy 4:16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."
Study Calvinism more intensely. It doesn't blame sin on God.
@@christienodendaal3001 then you dont know your calvinism.
I sincerely believe that this is not about Calvinism but about a human being who failed in the functions that brothers and sisters had given him. Did he climb too high? Was he too adulated, idolized? I do not know. But what he taught applies to him too ... The Lord chooses servants who serve brothers and sisters, and not who reign over them. He does not give His glory to another. What is happening speaks to all of us, in the depths of our consciences and our hearts. "Let he who is without sin be the first to cast a stone at him" ..... Let us be vigilant because the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking for his next prey! But our Lord is the Good Shepherd to whom nothing is impossible! Be blessed .... from France!
Very helpful, thank you!
Steve Lawson is viciously anti-Catholic, and he even said the Virgin Mary wasn’t always a virgin; I was always wondering why he made up weird sexual fan-fiction about the Virgin Mary, when even heretic Martin Luther affirmed the perpetual virginity. Furthermore, Steve Lawson would always gloat about his belief in the satanic doctrine that says that some people are predestined for damnation from all eternity. He was gloating, and now he’s done for. Maybe HE was “predestined” for Hell. Hahaha! Just kidding, no one is predestined for damnation; he brought this damnation on himself.
Are we heartbroken at King David or Solomon or Samson or how about we remove them from the Bible? It’s extremely wrong and hurtful and sad, but he is still a man of God. And that can never be taken away.
Dr. Donna Williams Smith of Divine Call Ministries extends love, and heartfelt consolation for the lives that are affected by this indiscretion. She has interceded for the Body of Christ, specifically God’s servant leaders for decades, and has an understanding of the profound spiritual warfare Church leaders experience. Therefore it is with a spirit of Grace, and great humility that she offers this prayer for the Body. Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word tells us that judgement begins in the House of the Lord, and we see You doing that in this season; we yield to Your Divine Authority during this process. Galatians also teaches that if any man be caught in a fault let those that are spiritual restore that person in a spirit of meekness lest we also come into condemnation…Help us Lord!! We are so vulnerable to the wickedness that has ascended; we cannot stand strong without Your Holy Spirit to lead and Counsel us moment by moment. Empower us Supernaturally with discerning spirits, and cause us to quickly respond when You sound the Alarm. Additionally, we need Grace; Grace and more Grace…to walk in love, walk in Wisdom, walk in forgiveness, and stand strong 💪 in You and in the Power of Your might…we are trusting You in all things, and submitting our ALL to YOU Lord God, spirit, soul, and Body…believing You will give us VICTORY in the Name of Jesus Christ, WHO is Your Chosen Authority, the 2nd Person of the Godhead; HIMSELF GOD; Amen and so be it!!
Does he keep the Sabbath celebrate Christmas and Easter that's the fruit
Most moral and financial sin in the church has started from a wrong understanding of doctrine. When we get our theology wrong .... we are open to moral failure. Pastor Lawson promoted the unbiblical doctrine of Calvinism. Still, all you Calvinists out there, need not worry .... Pastor Lawson will still make it to heaven ... because he believed in the unbiblical doctrine of The Perseverance of the Saints (or OSAS). Also, he could not really help from falling into sin .... because he had been predestined to do so by his sovereign God. That sounds harsh ... but heresy is harsh ...but I have still prayed for Pastor Lawson to truly repent .... of his immorality and his heresy.
Thank you for calling out the calvinism/ reformed theology. Amen
Amen 🙏 💔 thank you for sharing a gracious reflection on this sad news.
Excellent !! hi from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
Where you heart-broken over Robert Morris and his family as well? Pray for them? Judge or condemn?
Hey Darrell, thank you for your comment. Personally, I was heart-broken over the innocent child and her family that suffered at the hands of Morris' sin. When events of this type occur, we must always be prayerful, first and foremost, of the victims. In my humble belief, I do not believe we are ever justified to judge or condemn...that's God's job. But what we can, and should, do is hold others accountable. There are consequences for sin and everyone, especially spiritual leaders, should be held accountable. For this reason, I think we need to pray for the spiritual protection of the church and its leaders. Thank you for your comment!
Completely different situations
I don't know if anyone reads this but I have wondered. Not just about him but many pastors. How they spend so much time they spend preparing sermons, reading books, writing books, speaking at conferences etc. I often wondered when they had time for their wife and children..
Hello Della, I agree and think you are asking the right question! This question speaks to the heart of the matter for all pastors to remember. 1 Timothy 3:4 reminds those called as overseers that their family MUST be their first ministry. As a pastor, I know how time-consuming the ministry can be, but I can never compromise my first priority to my wife and children. And I think this is a common area where many pastors fall short. These kinds of incidents are a sobering reminder for pastors to not let that happen! Thank you and God bless! :)
Well, he certainly had time for his mistress didn't he.
No rogue molecules eh? How ridiculous is a doctrine invented by mere men from the RCC's Augustine and regurgitated by Calvin. You trap a (g)od in a box of your own making without ever considering the Real One is so sovereign that He can bring about restitution, all the while truly bequeathing free will.
Stoutly stated, God bless you for this comment!
Is it that these ministers get too comfortable in their position….and get too careless…..?? Thank you for your testimony!!!
His wife and four children must be heartbroken. 😢
Very sad!! I blame the woman also. She knew he had a wife and children. She could have said, “no thank you, you are a married man and also a preacher. It takes two to tango. Very, very sad.
This woman is in sin too. she cannot stand before the lord for him. He is accountable for his own soul.
I pray for her too. I'm sure that she feels guilty about this as well. Especially, since it's out in the open now. I'm VERY careful about throwing stones at this one. Why? Because it will escalate the sin, and make the Grace of God secondary to this situation. Yes, we should grieve over this. But grief, brings us closer to God's Grace. Pointing fingers at Steve and the gal he was with, only glorifies the sin, and not God's Grace.
I hope and I will pray that pastor Steve Lawson is heal and restore, and that God use this for His Glory just like David. Thank you for a good massage of healing ❤️🩹 😢🙏
Wow thank you for being honest about your own sin and also helping folks digest this news
Thank you! All for the glory of God and His Son!
My wife and I always thought Lawson was a fake.
I am so glad you said that.... I thought it, but didn't have the nerve to mention it. I am not a Calvinist ... but I do listen to the preaching of some godly Calvinist men. However, I always thought there was something ... just not right about Steve Lawson. I couldn't put my finger on it .... but I just could not listen to his preaching.
@@Ancient-PathsI agree. For one thing there was too much theatrical shouting.

Not surprised at all. Power and money corrupt. You can add adulter to his many accomplishments.
The one-eyed snake is alive and well.
This is so helpful. I pray for the restoration and calm to that family and all that are hurt by this news. I will continue to respect and listen to Dr. Steve Lawson as a faithful preacher to the word of God and as an imperfect human.
How old is this person he's cheating with? Gotta assume it's very young or he probably would have said, bunch of pervs
Steves god decreed thus to happen. WCF 3:1 Own it or petition to remove it from the document.
If you have been taught by Lawson, you'd be believing his teaching that every miniscule detail (including this transgression by Lawson) has been Calvinistically predestined before creation by the Calvinistic Reformed Theology god, for the glory of the Calvinistic Reformed god. So I'm not sure why you are so troubled by what's happened? Isn't Lawson compatibilistically obeying the Calvinistic Reformed god's decretal will? Shouldn't you be applauding your Calvinistic Reformed god's glorious action? ⁉️🤷🏻♂️

Great exposure is coming to the Body! We must pray for Him and others and focus on Jesus and the word…. New Faces (Davids) are Arising!
Look up the UA-cam video “Pastor Steve Lawson on men, lust, and holiness.” May Steve be resensitized to the horror of the abuse this is to his wife and perhaps to a woman he potentially tempted (or perhaps he gave in to her temptation).either way since compared to him she was a little one, he is counted as the one who caused her to sin. Steve! Look at the millstone fitted for your neck and repent in ashes and tears of godly grief!
Steve is a reformed calvinist. He believes his god has decreed ordained and determined all.
@@truthseeker5698 do you really understand Calvin? Look at Calvin’s commentaries on verses about living beyond reproach and being upright and ready to testify to the gospel and you wouldn’t mock so freely. “Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.” Proverbs 9:8-10.
