Mushrooms sure need lots of oil. I use olive oil - first I fry finely chopped onion, then I add the sliced mushrooms and I season with salt, white pepper and nutmeg.
I actually find that mushrooms don’t need a lot of oil since they naturally contain water and release it as they cook. I usually use just a little olive oil, then season with garlic, red onion, black pepper, and salt. But I agree, there are many ways to cook mushrooms your method with Black pepper and nutmeg sounds delicious! It’s always interesting to see how different techniques can bring out unique flavors in the same ingredient. And don’t forget to subscribe and like for more recipes!
