It is 180g Italian crepe paper that has been placed in water to reduce the stretch, then left to dry before cutting and adding colour. Hope that helps

Just an update, it's not working as well as i hoped 😅 It looks a bit shiny and doesn't keep its shape as well as unpainted. When I needed to stretch the petals I found it hadn't painted inside the crevices so I have white streaks throughout. I also found any more than a tiny bit of water made the crepe paper stretch so badly out of shape it wasn't very usable and didn't go back to its original shape.. I did it on 90g paper so I don't know if that's part of my problem? I honestly can't see how using watercolour would work even though I can see you've had success with it. Perhaps it's my paper? I got the Italian brand so idk... feeling a little frustrated right now lol!!

White roses are very subtle in their colouring, a stronger colour, using the same technique, can be used on white crepe paper or on a coloured crepe paper for a stronger coloured flower.

On this one rose I just coloured one side of the petal as some of the colour seeped to the other side, but sometimes I will colour both sides, especially on 180g crepe paper as water does not penetrate the paper quite so well as the doublette which I've used on this video.

@@FrowningSparrowUK I recently got some Lia Griffith paper that doesn't specify how many grams it is but says heavy crepe paper. Is this probably the same thickness you're using?

@@IAMGiftbearer The Lia Griffiths heavy crepe is 160g and the doublette I have used in this video is 90g. The doublette does behave differently to the heavy crepe so you may need to experiment a little before working on your flower project.

For this video, I used the doublette crepe paper by Werola which is made in Germany. It is the paper that Lia Griffiths sells in packs. However, I use this technique on all crepe paper weights. If I use the 180g I always stretch the paper first in water and dry it before cutting the petals and painting as this helps the petals keep their shape when applying the watercolour.

Hello Yasmeen, my rose template is made from a real flower and all the petals are different shapes and sizes so it really is impossible to give all the petal sizes and the end result wouldn't be the same. The tutorials where created to support my template which is available on Etsy, but also as a guide to people who are interested in crepe paper flowers. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your comments. I always appreciate feedback. As I video alone there are many times I have to use the auto focus which on my camera refocuses every few seconds. I'm trying to use manual focus where ever possible to stop the focus going in and out as know it can be annoying. The rose is made is exactly the same way as the rose which is made in the other videos which I've broken down into steps to make it easy to follow. The only difference is that this rose is made without the central bulb. Unfortunately I only have the finished video so unable to re-edit to make it slower, but you can use the 'Settings' icon on the video to slow it down which might help. Thanks again.

I will have a think! You can also make a ball shape rather than a pear. Just need to make sure the first 6 inner petals meet at the top so you can't see in the gap.

Hi Yasmeen, It is florist putty, and in the UK it is called Oasis Fix. If you put a search for Oasis Fix into Google search you should be able to find pictures of what it looks like. Hope this helps and if not let me know.

@@yasmeensaleem9472 I don't see why plado wouldn't work if it is more accessible to you. If you try it let me know how you get on. For my other method instead of strips of crepe paper florist tape can be used instead.
