    You use the vinegar instead of the lemon or lime juice. I prefer the lime instead of the vinegar but you inspired me to go buy a tostonera. Im going to walmart on the spanish side of town to get one today. Lol!

    I was hope for the amount of each ingrediant as well, I've been making fried plantains for years, but never put them in water/just straight to the frying pan, wonder the reason for that, but anyway, I will try that sauce, looks delicuous.

    My Puerto Rican friend used to make it with fresh coconut too. It was delicious!

    Poking two holes in the coconut will make pouring out the water much easier. I can't wait to try this. I am coconut obsessed. I always have coconut rum in stock.

      @@islaflavorstv7953 do you think it will change the flavor if I wash it vs dont?

      Not at all If it helps any try both ways and campare. To me it’s the same either way so I think ultimately it’s what you choose But for sure washing or not does not change the flavor Thank you 🙏🏼

      Simply make a mixture of fresh garlic oil vinegar salt to taste You can mix it all up in a nutrí bullet or blender if you want You can do this really quickly when your frying your plantains Good luck

    Can I leave a little bit of the actual coconut in there ? I noticed you strained it. Thanks for sharing btw

    • @puertoriconnect4611
      @puertoriconnect4611 Рік тому

      I left the actual coconut in and didn’t strain it. Big mistake. It seemed smooth enough after blending. But I refrigerated it then gave it out as gifts. Wasn’t until after that I realized it came out all chunky. So people gonna think I have them some rotten milk in their coquito and I’m mortified 🤦‍♀️

    Thank you for taking the time to do this the old fashion way. Folks just don't understand 2 things first we have to preserve the original way we cook from our native Puerto Rico and second my grandmother was born 1914 there was no can any thing in her time, every thing done by hand and fresh. I still feel my fingers rallada from all the grating pastelles and coconut for the coquito .
