Dreams of Toast (no midway version)
the new checkpoint replacement obstacle added a massive layer of difficulty compared to beating both sections of the original consecutively, it was my most common point of failure by a mile
i'd estimate around 19 out of 20 of my attempts that would have been acceptable to collect the midway tape in the regular version ended on it's screen while playing this one
reasons for this were:
- the area you drop the shell before the new halfway point is now a 2-tile high gap instead of 3 making entry and the trick considerably tighter
- getting under the 1-tile chimney perfectly and cutting speed was super hard with the angle you approach it. the death blocks there ended more runs than anything else, even with the option of rubbing the middle of the right wall i found it incredibly demanding to make it though them, in contrast to the normal version where getting near the inside the gap is adequate enough to grab the tape
- the blue koopa walking back and forth on the single tile corner would often drop it's shell down to the block below when it's at it's rightmost position of it's walk cycle at the time you land on it, and similar to on/offs and turn blocks in this level, the blue and white ground tile isn't a safe spot for mario to stand
- after that a quick lag spike happens as you do the up-throw bonk caused by the 2 new shells in the 1 tile chimney still being present when the ones of the next screen load in, making the already strict fast fall after you get over the wall even harder to time

i apologize for the long-winded explanation and hope it didn't come off as too pedantic, but since i previously uploaded a clear of beating both sections in a row from the initial level i felt it might be necessary to clarify how this challenge wasn't quite the same as that one
