I'm a proud US Navy vet and avid angler. I love God, my family and my country. I primarily fish for bass in and around Central Texas in My 2022 Native Watercraft Titan 12. I love to fish whether from from my yak or hitting the bank. I Also occasionally get to fish different parts of the Texas gulf coast. I'm always learning and growing my knowledge as an angler, and enjoy sharing tips tricks and techniques that can help us all get better at the sport we love. #bassfishing #kayakbassfishing #texasfishing #nativewatercraft #fishing #bankfishing #bass #roundrocktexas

Kayak Fishing the fall transition

We are late (or early) in the fall transition here in central Texas. I was back out at Old settlers Park in Round Rock Texas. Fishing this trip was a real grind. Still anytime on the water is time well spent. I had some success with a Bass Pro Shops underspin with a small rage swimmer. Once again the most effective technique was my all time favorite the good ol drop shot. #kayakbassfishing #kay...

Sam Rayburn Lake-Fall Bass Fishing Bucket List Trip
Love that bass jumping out of the water 👍🏼 I need to get out there. Hadn’t been to that spot yet this year 🎣 Tight Lines 🎣
@@TexasPondBassMaster the water is a bit low right now, but the bank fishing can still be pretty good. If you do go, I reccomend the side of the lake opposite the park, and pretty much anywhere on or near the dam.
Thanks 👍🏼🎣
Love fishing here!
@@trufnk we do to. Plan on heading back in about 6 weeks. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the prayer and like that color. Have that idea in mind for my next squarebill to paint. Yeah the dam will be your best bet to fish deeper and not catch too much grass. Gonna head out there on Wednesday after work and see what I can come up with!
@@fishingwithedwin5998 yes sir. Prayer is always something we need. Especially in these crazy times we're living in.

💯
Your videos are very top notch. Aman
Thank you sir. I enjoy making em.
Heck yeah! Thanks for the shout out. Yeah very true, hold the rod tip down to get maximum depth, and hold the tip up to get over shallow areas. 😊🙌🏼🎣
@@Fishingwithfaithoutdoors23 you're tha man. Appreciate you Brother.
Great video brother 👍🏼🎣
@@TexasPondBassMaster thank you sir. Appreciate you watching and Appreciate the support.
Happy Birthday 🎂🎉 Thanks for the shout out 👍🏼🎣 Great video !!! I’m still debating on getting a kayak set up 🛶 Tight Lines Brother 🎣🙏🏼
If you can get a kayak definitely go for it. I'd get out on the water with you for sure.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing Need to hook up with you so I can see what it’s all about, especially handling it physically 👍🏼
👏 🐟
@@girlfinfishing thank you for watching.
Nice catches!! I love a fritz side!
I had never used one before. Now that I have I love em and will be getting a few more with my Bass Pro gift cards . 😆
@@castingacrosstexasfishing heck yeah! One recommendation, when reeling in a crank bait, hold your rod tip down and you’ll get more depth out of it. Unless your over shallower waters, or over top of grass than I would try to hold it up to avoid getting hung up. Tight lines bro! 😎🎣
@@Fishingwithfaithoutdoors23 great tip. 👍
18:38 ask and you shall receive. 😂
Oh and Happy Birthday! 😂
@@savedbygraceoutdoors thank you. The joy of fishing keeps me feeling young.
Can you record and show your Garmin screen? When you look down at it, I always want to see what you’re seeing. I don’t know enough about the Garmin to know if you can. If so you could put it in the corner of the screen.
Occasionally I will show it using my phone. I would like to show it more real time though. Eventually I will add another camera. Maybe just get a cheap one to stay focused on my fish finder the whole time I'm out. 🤔 that'd actually be a cool idea. I could have the fish finder showing all the time in the upper right corner of my videos. If I do of course you'll get full credit for a great suggestion.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing I thought the Garmin could record screen to a card. But the camera sounds like a lot of work.
@@savedbygraceoutdoors not sure. Maybe some higher end units can. Unfortunately mine doesn't. Maybe someday when I can upgrade.
Nice brotha never knew a watermelon pearl could pull something off over there always been moving baits w me and I like that squarebill too might have to give that a try ! Might have to start playing some of that gospel music as well seems to always bring you some good luck ! lol
My standard operating practice is to start out the morning on moving baits. As the morning wears on and the bite slows I switch to more slower finesse presentations . That's why I spend so much time with a drop shot. I can pretty much catch em all day on it. Always like having my music playing. Helps keep in a good frame of mind and lifts my spirit. 😊
@@castingacrosstexasfishing right on sounds like a pretty good routine you got going once the yak touches the water.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing moving baits will work all day in belton lake. You just have to find em and the schools of baitfish.
@@fishingwithedwin5998 yeah. I'm definitely going to get out there again. Still gotta catch that elusive smallmouth. 😆
Now is that a drop shot whacky rig senko you are using?
Drop shot with a 4inch Yum Dinger rigged wacky style. It never fails.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing sweet I’ll have to give that a shot
Nice I use fish angler app and most of the time the bite forecast In there is pretty accurate.
Might have to check that one out.
Nice 👍🏻 🎣
Thanks. Appreciate you watching.
Seems like nobody but you puts in the water there. Good catches man!
Occasionally I do have to share. Not that often though. Actually the morning I filmed this there were a couple of kids out there on a little pond prowler .
@@castingacrosstexasfishing lol that’s cool
@@Fishingwithfaithoutdoors23 the best part is it's less than a mile from my house.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing that’s always a plus! I’m blessed to be living less than 1 hour from 4 good fishing areas.
How do y’all not roast out there with all that gear on.
😆 well my fishing shirts are made of dri fit material so it's light and comfortable....just suffice it to say, I can handle just about any temp of 90 or lower. Also wearing a pfd for me is 100% a must. In my opinion anyone that gets in a kayak without a pfd is just asking for trouble.
@@castingacrosstexasfishingyeah the fishing shirts and pants do help with the sun and when you sweat in them they cool you off. The best thing I ever did was buy fishing pants with the legs that zip off.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing there’s a channel called kayak catfish and he has an umbrella setup on his kayak that still lets him cast. He doesn’t use it in every video. But it might be something to check into. I wear the same shirts and stuff and if there is no breeze ugh! Plus y’all have the PFD.
@@savedbygraceoutdoors now there's a thought. I've also thought about getting a neck fan /ac. Would definitely make those Sumner fishing trips a lot more comfortable.
Are you allowed to keep bass from that pond? Looks like it might be overpopulated. If people ate some of them the competition for food would go down and they could get bigger.
Thats something I've thought myself recently. I believe it's a 14 inch limit to keep.Personally though I wouldent eat anything I caught out of there. You're probably right about being over populated, but there are still some healthy sized bass in there.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing we have that problem here. Most of these ponds were flooded with sewage during the floods a few years ago and during Harvey. I’m now going to eat them. I wish the state would shock these ponds and move some of these bass on to bigger lakes. But that’s all they worry about is the big lakes.
SLAYED IT DAD YAHHHHHHHH
My biggest fan. ♥️
Oh a buddy of mine swears by the 2.8” Keitech swimmers, they may work good on that underspin.
Yeah I think I might try and pick some up. I've heard a lot of good reviews on Keitech.
The bite has been TOUGH this week here in the Midwest. Hopefully they’ll start biting good soon.
Hopefully it really starts picking up here soon. I have a trip scheduled next week for one of the few lakes here in Texas that is known for smallmouth. A spieces I've never caught.
I fished this yesterday and caught my PB......... 10 minutes after I dropped my phone 😅. Luckily someone on the bank was nice enough to take a pic and send it lol. Where do you like to launch at settlers?
@@pedroaguirre566 that's awsome. I launch right next to the parking lot. Thanks for watching. Be sure to subscribe.
Nice fishing out there sir. I remember you posting to see which thumbnail would work best - the one you chose is pretty solid!
Appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.
Nice catches bro! Keep up the good work! 🤘
Thanks! Will do!
Mine too that’s all I ever use really till water starts to cool down then I’ll throw everything else.
Gotta stick with what works.
Never used a drop shot, but it’s one I want to try.
My #1 confidence technique. If you get a chance check out my drop shot tips and tricks/ tutorial video.
Thanks for the tip on the chartreuse color and how the bass see it in stained water. Nice video. Glad you caught so many in August 2024! 😊
I'm in central Texas...chartreuse is a hot color around here. Not sure why it triggers the fish so much but it's my go to when I need it.
Man you’re deadly with that drop shot!
If I can only use one fishing technique and never another, that's definitely it. It's my security blanket for sure. Lipless crankbait bite should pick up next month though.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing yes I’m looking forward to that bite!
Always great videos my friend.
Yeah this one was a lot of fun. Appreciate you watching and supporting me.
What is the most fish you ever caught in a single day summer fishing and what lure worked best for you that day?
4, and was on a white and chartuse chatter bait.
Close to 20 bass. But it was a farm pond. Chatterbait evo.
@@FishermanFred2023 farm ponds don't count. 😂 just kidding. That's very impressive .
@@Fishingwithfaithoutdoors23still need to work on my chatterbait game. I've only caught one bass on a chatterbait. It was on a Thundercricket.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing ha ha
I don’t do much cranking, but I’m going to start. I’ve always caught fish on the HH when I have thrown it.
It really is an easy lure to use. The action is so erratic compared to a regular crankbait you really don't even have to add much of your own. You can just cast it out and reel it in. Of course I tend to get the most bites when I throw in a pause now and then.
Hybrid Hunter Jr’s are such great little lures. I love the crazy buoyancy they have. Great for shallow ponds.
I love em. There's also a shallow version that runs 1-2 feet. The do great over submerged grass.
Great tips brother.
Thanks . I know you've always done well withe a whopper plopper.
Gonna have to try that hybrid hunter that looks promising. Let me know if you would like an EF cobra plopper have two more blanks left .
It's a great lure especially in shallow water. Kinda like a shallow crankbait with a more erratic action. May have to take you up on a new plopper. Mines really worn out.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing sure brotha I got you just lmk. 👍💯🎣😎
You will notice your sound quality is much better when you get closer to the mic. Great top 3. My top lures were a bit different.
Yeah I know about getting close to the mic. I just wanted a little room to move around. I'll be working on a better studio set up soon. I really like yours.
Never have used a swim jig. I'm from Round Rock, Tx 😊
I’ve caught some monsters on a swim jig! I just haven’t been throwing it lately. A M/H fast is a must that’s for sure lol. 7.3.1 reel is good, me personally is 15-17 lb line. Pline floroclear is my favorite. Swim jigs are fun and I like to pair my swim jig with a largo shad because it gives that jig a real good side to side action and you don’t have to shake it as much. A rage menis is a great trailer too. Great video bro! God bless!
I like to keep the line I use fairly light. Of course that could change if I ever lose a PB that breaks my line. I've thought about using P-line. 🤔 it's a bit cheaper than pure floro isn't it?. Do you notice a difference with p-line versus floro? Does it sink like floro.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing well to be honest I have gotten the red label and lord I can’t wait to get it off my reel! 😂😂. Pline floroclear is a lot better to me and doesn’t fray up as bad as red label. Doesn’t hold a lot of memory neater. I use 15lb for all my heavy wire hooks just because I don’t have to set the hook as hard and don’t have to worry about breaking off on a big fish or a log. If you ever get 10lb in a log or tree, yeah that will make you have a bad day 😂. I have 10lb floor on my jerk bait rig and 12 on my cranking setups.
Interesting didn’t know you can use 10lb test for swim jigs I always use between 12 and 14lbs on those.
For me its just a personal preference. It's worked well so far. I'm sure I'll move to heavier line the first time I have a lunker break off. 😆
Nice slomo at the end. 👍😎
Yes sir. I like to add those little touches to up the production value a bit. It's my artistic side showing off when I can. Appreciate your comment and support .
@@castingacrosstexasfishing Are you able to do layers on your editing software. Record yourself in front of a solid background then key yourself out of the background and layer it above the kayak background. That way you don’t have that zoom video look going on.
Have you ever used a swim jig and if so what's your swim jig PB?
Let's Goooooo
I love to share knowledge when I have it to give. Appreciate your support
Nice video brother! I love the verse around the 120 mark. Keep trying with the buzzbaits. They have to be in the mood for biting them haha. I’ve caught my top 3 on the Megabass Jamaica Boa in black color. Strike King Tour grade in black with a white / pearl flash rage tail is a good combo too! I’ve had most success with them just before a storm it seems too.
@@FishermanFred2023 appreciate you watching. I think a big part of working with unfamiliar baits is just building that confidence. I'm sure once I catch my first bass on buzzbait that will be a game changer for me.
@@castingacrosstexasfishing Definitely true!
