The Kona depth challenge brought together some of the best divers in Hawaii to compete at pu'uhonua o honaunau (two step) in constant weight, free immersion and constant weight no-fins disciplines. A short mash up of our spearfishing clips. This video was intended to help out new divers. Learning to stalk fish takes time, but by scratching, grunting or dusting you can call in some trophy fish. hey is the Bleutec Lycan worth the price ? its around 700 to 800
5 years and it's still going strong. It has a lot of mass and displaces a lot of water making it a very stable and accurate gun.
I dive Oahu 2 to 4 times a week so I watch this kind of content a lot. I would like to see the kills once they're ready to string. You film the shot then never show after that. Its honestly my favorite part of watching these. Wouldn't hurt to consider not cropping that part out. I usually only see that with people who shoot tiny fish. Just dont see why you did that though. Shoots.
The gopro was usually pointing too high to really see that but I got some footage, I just liked the back to back clips tho.

great vid. i have a question about mu do you ever find them in shallow water 20 to 40 ft ?
Yes, the first Mu in the video is in 23ft of water. You can find decent sized mu in less than 40ft around the Big Island but it's hard to predict when they will be shallow, I usually just spot them and try to take a shoot. They tend to be pretty smart though.
I love how you showed that you missed the Mu at the end. I love the realistic raw videos. I like seeing the struggle. A lot of channels show the shot and then the fish but skip out on fighting the fish

+davidnso Most of the Clips are from Kona side. The Kaku and Kumu were from the east side of the Big island.
what kind gun you using? super accurate!
+Sam Tapuolo The first and 3 clips (4lbs Uku and Kaku) were a Torelli Taipan. All the other clips were done using a Bleutec Lycan. I really like the Lycan
