My main gripe about Pokemon compared to magic is In Pokemon it seems that most decks focus around powering up one big EX Pokemon and spamming one attack over and over until you win. The first person to draw enough energy to use that attack wins 90% of the time. In magic even if you threw down a 30/30 creature someone could cast a counter-spell or a murder card and that big bad is swiped into the graveyard instantly unless they counter your counter. Magic is awesome because you never really know what your opponent will do. Wether a 100 rats or barely any creatures and just spells it gets wild

Magic the gathering offers more flavor and complexity but the price can much higher.

I played pokemon for a while and honestly i got bored of it pretty quickly. I found the game a little too consistent and simple. Ive been having a lot more fun playing commander.

So if I were to take your FL list to build from, what are the most cuttable cards? Because I loved the feel of 3 super rods and Cyllene won me 2 games at a cup the other day (I know you don't love it and maybe I'm coping) but my locals are also on the Pao so I feel like I need Manaphy... I also want to try the boxed order technology. I assume it's -1 candy, -1 lost vacuum, +1 super rod, +1 manaphy. I'll try without Cyllene and just be smarter with resources, but what about trying to squeeze in boxed order? Do you think Manaphy is really needed for mirror/lost box or just try to bench 3 frigi when you know they can Ninja?

Cyllene lets you recycle Prime catcher and ser so you can play Prime catcher for a 2nd time

I'm really enjoying watching your games with Chien Pao and have recently started playing both tcg and Chien Pao. I was a little confused on the rules, I found on live I could discard energy on other pokemon on my bench when attacking with Chien-pao, is there a rule that stops you discarding multiple water energy from different pokemon on your team in play because I can't do that in live? im very new, chien pow is my first deck into meta pokemon, I feel im very unlucky alot, Tons of times I keep prizing alot of what I need Also I feel against charziard if they open good and go first you lose, so many times Im forced going second and on their second turn they have a zard and pigeot with energy everywhere I did a league tournament and lost my only match to someone playing ancient box, they had a situation where if they prime catcher me i lose, they did skwovet to draw 1, they top decked a bibaral, evolve then draw 5 and primed me, I was fumming Its very fun though getting 6 energy and 1 shotting charizard

What card would you change from your latest list to accommodate space for Boxed Order? I'm currently leaning towards removing a Nest Ball since I also want to include Cyllene

Boxed Order truly is the filthiest item card, it’s so unbelievable to boxed order turn 1. It should be a federal crime to hard open boxed order.

Thanks man, I cut cyllene and cologne for Ditto and boxed order. I feel like it's adding consistency that's important for the casual player like myself.

Canceling Cologne also shuts off Flutter, Klefki and other annoying active abilities.

Everything you say makes sense but I still find it easier with a 4-0-3 bax line as otherwise I seem to spend forever finding pieces some games. I do realise that results suggest it's unnecessary but just seems so much easier to set up this way.

Thought of running 3 supers instead of 3 paos? More supers allows more opportunity to double iron hands or double greninja and is also good against zard because you really need to pull energies from deck + superior energy to get knockouts. If they target your baxcaliburs or bibarels, you're going to be using a super just for pokemon, leaving only one super rod for energies and if they target a 2nd bax/bibarel, now you don't have enough energies in the deck to take ko's.

Thanks for the video. You’ve taught me a lesson to not feel unstoppable after you have a great start. At Fresno, in seniors, played arctina, and I started very strong and was 3-1. I felt so unstoppable and thought I could get top 8. Then, that 3-1 record went downhill so fast and I played against hard players and ended off with 3-3-1.
