FAQS:
Question: What kind of gate does this need to attach to?
Answer: Great question! The wire mesh will work however we must have at least two metal tubes that our bump arms attach to. I have lots of customers that use tube gates from their local farm supply then add a wire mesh fence to it? If you buy a gate, get the model with 2-inch diameter tubes.
Question: Why does this say it's in 13 pieces but on the website it says the kit has over 50 pieces. What's missing?
Answer: Wow that's a good question! You are the first to ask, I had to look it up. It turns out that neither is right. I counted 37 dif part numbers of which some have multiples used, however, some of the pieces are already put together into one unit.
Question: Does the kit come with the release mechanism for both sides of the gate? Enter and leaving side of gate?
Answer: Yes it does, all parts are included in our gate opener kit. You will need to supply a 2-inch tube gate and posts required.
Question: Does the gate need to swing both ways?
Answer: Good question! Yes, the gate kit will allow it to swing one way or from both directions.
Question: Will bump n drive work on a hill? will it open and close properly if it is not on level ground?
Answer: Yes our system does work on a hill up to about a 12-inch slope. Yes, it will work on unlevel ground as the hinge post keeps the gate level in the closed position. Remember no electric required. If you have more questions you are welcome to call 573 579 9432.
Question: Does it work with double gates? My gates close in the middle, but there is no post to latch to. Can it latch from the bottom and be driven over?
Answer: SORRY IT DOES NOT WORK WITH DOUBLE GATES. IT DOES LATCH FROM THE BOTTOM AND IT SWINGS FROM ONE HINGE POST ON ONE END. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS MY CELL IS 573 579 9432.
Question: Theoretically could this be installed on a wooden privacy fence gate??
Answer: Yes. You would need to purchase a regular tube gate, preferably a 2-inch diameter, and modify your boards to be attached to the gate.
Question: I like the product, but is there a way to add a remote-controlled lock?
Answer: Sorry, a remote control lock cannot be added to our gate opener kit. It has a patented gate latch but does not lock.
Question: Since it's not electric, how does it release the gate so it closes back up?
Answer: We have a patented system that has a timed catch and release arm. This arm catches the gate when it opens, holds it for a variable time up to 29 seconds then releases it. The gate automatically closes and latches.
Question: Can this gate be locked when needed?
Answer: It does not come with a lock, but you could use a chain with a lock around the post.
Question: Does this come with anything to set a timer to allow for a truck and trailer to make it thru before it closes on you?
Answer: It closes slowly enough to allow this to happen.
Question: Does it only open one way?
Answer: No, it opens, catches, and releases from both directions.
Question: IS there any protection that would keep livestock from pushing it open?
Answer: Cattle and horses will bump or nudge the push pad that opens the gate latch however they do not follow through with the continued motion to pull the latch open, they seem to just walk on by.
Question: Can this be bumped into in both directions to open?
Answer: Yes
Question: two questions - Does the gate open from both sides or just one. Can it be opened manually?
Answer: Yes the gate swings both ways and latches both ways. It can be opened manually. To make your set up easy do not set your gate post until you watch the installation video included with the kit.

An up close look at the Bump Gate system
Переглядів 14 тис.5 років тому
The design of the Bump N' Drive gate opener kit was inspired by farmers working on a 2-million-acre ranch that didn't have too many fences. When the driver came across an exit gate, he would push the gate open with the bumper of his jeep or truck. An old tire was usually strapped to each side to prevent damaging the gate or vehicle. Today, our gate opener kits allow farmers around the world to ...

Does the gate close by itself going both ways or just one way? Is gravity closing the gate or is there something else?
