Thank you sir! I hope you changed out the others while you had them all out. Cheap insurance considering the hassle. You would think they would make the spark plugs the EASIEST thing to work on. What is wrong with engineers these days?
they were all replaced shortly before this. the one must have been dropped or something and I didn't catch it going in. new from the stealer. then ironically the original root cause problem turned out to be a bad master cylinder that had filled the booster and was allowing the engine to pull brake fluid in. absolute shytshow🤣 no aftermarket master, had to bend over for oe.
I imagine it would be a pretty safe bet to say there is not one mechanic who appreciates the design of the Sienna engine compartment. I have a 2006 ce. I love my van. But every time I open the hood I end up wanting to hurt the person responsible for designing the engine compartment.
my sentiment exactly. these design "engineers" should be required to work in the field before starting the actual engineering part of their training. i dealt with numerous clowns talking about "it fits/works in solidworks" 🤣
Should I get a E locker or an ARB air locker for my 91? My next minor mod is to add a air compressor on board. I'm in Oregon and suspect I can source one for pretty inexpensive from a wrecked truck or someone parting out their rig. I'm at the part of my build where my next build step is regearing so I want to address everything at once when it comes to setting up the axles.
i like the elocker better personally. arb requires air and electric vs just electric. arb seem to be somewhat problematic with the oring and piping stuff. parts availability is also an issue. I recommend going to a co2/powertank setup for oba. simply way more versatile and powerful. appreciate your watch and comment. where are you in Oregon?
@@SnaleRacing Appreciate the information, I am in polk county. I been looking at generic compressors on ebay and figured i'd get a 3gallon tank
@@Toyotas_n__Tools cool. i have some friends up there with the Cascade Cruisere club. they organize the Cruisin the Woods events at Browns. good people.
These videos are awesome. Just binged a few. The detail is great and like you said at the end of this video "full of information that no one can find". Its how it feels trying to keep my 4runner on the road in 2024. from Dead end forum posts with expired hosting pictures to bickering among facebook groups. UA-cam has really become the source of good old school yota 4x4 information. Keep on wrenchin!
@@peterdingley5321 ih8mud.com is still a solid source. i still spend a good amount of time on there.
The work you were looking for is Assemble, not Build
@@othoapproto9603 you're still looking for words. please move along.
Any chance you have a brown a pillar interior cover passenger side?
unfortunately not. these were white, strangely enough.
Cant agree about the 15"s. Who wants to live in the future? I can barely stand the present lol.
lol. i feel that.
Sub'd! Good content. Where in Oregon are you?
thanks for the sub. we were in so oregon outside medford. currently moving to Paraguay. the west coast is lost😞
That stainless windshield trim comes out of every truck I build. What a poor design.
agree. the glued in glass is also super lame.
I've got an old M8274 that probably needs this upgrade.
all old winches need this update😏 thanks for watching.
Oof nevermind I guess I should find an option with a modern fuse block
meh. the box doesn't have to match the harness. dig around. iirc there are vendors offering updated boxes only.
Thank you for this video!! I have that old bug that Madi wants to restore and a wiring harness is on the list! Where did you get the harness from?

Great review! How can we take seriously someone who is paid to review, nicely done?. I think you sold me on the smaller 270 that you have and not the max. I'm a minimalist nut and the non-max seems just enough with fewer moving parts and easiest to setup. My goal, camp setup in 5 minutes with the fewest points touching the ground. I have an iKamper skycamp mini already, which takes up most of the 5 minutes so a pole-less awning is my dream next purchase, gotta have one and going to Mikes's for it.
@@pferrel you won't be disappointed in the bush awning or Mike's. thank you for the kind comments.
I’m looking at buying one of these and have a vertical sided pop-up camper (OVRLND) on my truck. Do you think I could put some bolts through the awning backing plate and into the camper wall and have it work properly? I’d use the supports and a 1/4 backing plate. Thank you!
i don't see why not. the awning structure is about 8" tall. it has the T slot track built in. looks like your camper is aluminum, so you would just want to make sure your backing plates are large enough. this awning can definitely exert some force. either from wind or water. thanks for watching and commenting.
Howd you know how long to extend the shifter stick? I want to do this to my w56 rwd with the shifter housing more to the front of the engine which is opposite from the w58
@@ucf83 you need to lengthen the stick the same amount as the base rises. measure from pivot pin to pivot pin for the number needed.
@@SnaleRacing Great! Thank you for the reply🙏 ill try this out
Thanks for the video. I put the large top gear in bacwards, and it jammed up when the cam engaged the break. (Banging head against wall) This video helped lots.
thank you. glad it was helpful.
Good info and vid. Thx. I just got a 5th gen 4Runner, first thing I noticed on trail was no locker in 2wd!! I've never owned a truck with no full time locker, ok maybe one '93 Yoda but all others had full time locker. So I'm doing some digging and found this mod. Should it be similar and work the same on a new 5th gen runner?
@@FPdesignfab unfortunately im not familiar with the late model stuff. really depends on which controller is used. I know there are options out for 3rd gen taco, not sure about overlap. link. mikescustomtoys.com/products/3rd-gen-tacoma-anytime-locker
Why do u call phones cell phones. Mobile or just phone will do. Why would you not promote them during a camp. Useful for maps, camera or to watch sumthing if the weather comes in. Saying that, top vid👍 Looks great there. I want that chair😊😊
@@oliyb if your phone works where you are camping, you aren't far enough out. I refer to them as cell because they are called cellular phones. cell for short, shorter than phone or mobile ;) thanks for watching. the chairs are still great.
@@SnaleRacing I'm just annoyed I had to pay $380 for this in the UK. It was cheaper in cream but black is the one.
buy once, cry once. 🤣
great work. Any chance you could help me out in finding the caution sticker as well as the other decals ? cant seem to find them
Collins bros jeeps should have what you need.
Can’t be a Tacoma overlander without a big snorkel pipe sticking up!
Good video
thanks!
That thing is sick! As a lifelong mechanic of over 35 years, I can see that you know your toyotas very well. Your ocd is as bad as mine too so we know if you’re happy with it, it’s good! I just bought a 24 4runner because I always wanted one and I was afraid toyota was going to ruin the engines in 25. I may have been right, time will tell. I’m not a fan of the push start or the hill assist but otherwise, I’m liking it. I still prefer the look of the old style 4runners though.
Looks great, a lot of work😎😎
labor of love🤣
great job👏🏼
Sweet! It's so frustrating how much stuff we can't get for old 'Yotas! Looks sweet!
thanks. chasing parts was definitely aggravating🤣 thankfully there are a few vendors repoppiing some of unobtanium plastics now.
Came out great big guy
Such a sweet rig! Nice work man!
thank you!
Straight to the point, easy to understand explanation no BS great content!
thank you
Had a question about the 4 wire o2 upgrade. Im trying to figure out where i can ground the other two black wires and dont wanna use 20 feet of wire. Where did you ground the two black wires?
Basically anywhere to the body. i grounded near the fuse box at the driver A pillar.
I would try that in my 07 RAV4 Base FWD with bald tires
i would also try it in your fwd bald tired rav4🤣
That was hot
What geographical location was this feat made at.

@SnaleRacing Thanks for the reply. Ordered and installed them. Much better setup then my old ones.
glad to hear it. it's a nice setup.
I ordered a new soft topper for my 86 this morning. Hopefully it gets here soon Edit to say I ordered on Monday and it was here that Friday. Pretty fast for shipping to Alaska. It took about 2 hours to install by myself.
