Приєднався 18 чер 2007
My name is Rammon Hamers and I started with bonsai since I was 20 years of age and became a professional since 2010.
I'm born in The Netherlands and live in United Kingdom from 2010.
I have learned from Hotsumi Terawaka, Gijs Meboer, Teunis Jan Klein and Graham Potter.
I worked full time at Kaizenbonsai mail order buisiness owned by Graham Potter from 2010-2018.
In 2018 I moved to Staffordshire and started my own part time bonsai buisines.
I now offer workshops, 1 to 1, demonstrations, maintenance, styling and advice.
I also offer a range of bonsai trees varying from raw material to mature bonsai, bonsai pots and fertiliser.
I have arround 90 trees, of which 25 are my personal collection.
With this channel I want to share my work and experience for you to enjoy and learn.
Any inquirys please email me at Rhamers85@gmail.com

Carving English Elm Bonsai
I recorded this video in 2020 and havent done anything with it until now.
In this video i carve a english elm.
This tree was collected from my local woodland in 2016.
I left the tree to grow in the first year.
The second year i made a branch selection and wired some branches into the right direction.
The next 2 years i focussed on growth of the branches, especially the lower ones, to get a good thickness on them.
The 4th year in 2020 i repotted the tree into a better looking pot, but still oversized to let it grow some more.
In 2020 I also did the carving and more wiring to shape the branches again.
In 2023 i repotted the tree again and this time into a bonsai pot, but still a oversized one to help with the growth. In 2 or 3 years I will repot again and perhaps into a smaller one.

Tanuki: Fake or Real?!
Переглядів 5487 місяців тому
In this episode im making a Tanuki. Tanuki is a technique where you take a piece of deadwood and add young trees to make the two together look much older than it actually is. As the name tanuki is a Japanese racoon dog, isnt a racoon but looks like one. this is a great technique if you have limited budget or if you want to make a decent tree in a short time. its only a short video, as this is m...

Ancient Alpine tree becomes Bonsai
Переглядів 6 тис.11 місяців тому
in this video i am working on a yamadori (collected from the wild) Scots pine. Yamadori Scots pine. Bought in 2018 from a collector and since I only have done the deadwood. This one came from the french Alps and these trees are extremely old. These trees grow very slowly due to their high altitude habitat. They grow a few milimeters a year, so even the trunk is relative small the are still old....
@rhbonsai a small selection of trees I own and have worked on in the last 15 years.

Bravissimo 👍👍👍
Real that is possible but it will take years and years to work
Where can i get that bit?
Excellent looking tree and some great carving work here Ramon 👍👍
Tanuki is obviously not fake, but doesn’t appeal to me.
Graham Potter’s apprentice?
Yes i met him there when i was at a workshop with Graham Potter
Dude, been following you since the Graham days, cheers from Brazil! And we def need more tanuki content online so thank you!!!

nice one Ramon, looking forward to part 2
Just subbed looking forward to future content 👍🏻
war spannend anzusehen, Rammon - ich gespannt auf die Entwicklung und wie er diese Menge an heftigen Eingriffen verkraftet
Interesting work. Can you tell me when you should stop curving and what signs indicate that the tree's health is affected? As a newbie like myself, what should I watch and observe? Cheers.
Excellent video. Lots of really useful content. Lovely tree there. Nice one.
Buitifull
Cantik banget Kaka bonsai nya, selalu berkarya, salam sukses 👍👍🇮🇩🇮🇩

Nice work, it's coming along beautifully. In the future please have the camera on what your hands are doing, that's what I really want to see. Thanks!

Apologies Rammon, as much as I would have liked, I couldn't watch this due to the sliding in and out fades that really hurt my eyes. Hope you find this helpful for future videos.
Im sorry to hear that, i will keep that in mind for the future.
Some great footage of the trees mate . Was nice meeting you and spending some cash on your stall .
Thanks, you too!
Big sumo. Great work keep up the cool videos. Cheers from Ojai Bonsai
Nice looking field maple! Great job getting that initial carving work done, and creating a nice tapered structure. I'll stay tuned for future updates! 🙏🪴🍁
Ý tưởng định hình cây bonsai của bạn thật tuyệt vời 👍chúc bạn nhiều sức khỏe thành công trong công việc ❤❤❤
I was literally just looking at this tree on the Bonsai Uk group. Didnt know you had a youtube channel. Nice work.
Welcome aboard!
Awesome work with the diegrinder 😎Dennis
Thanks 👍
I have in my possession a field maple Planted as a seedling in1938😎Dennis
👍well done rammon..
Interested why no more than 10% moler clay? I sometimes use more than that. Is it affecting the PH? Great work on that stump. It's going to be an awesome tree in a few years.
Its indeed the ph levels. On its own it can be very acidic, almost like kanuma. Acidic soil prevents nutrients been taken up by the tree. Long term it can cause loss of branches.
Ramon, was the carving seen at 36:06 scorched or did you 'colour' it some other way please? Most small lighters I've seen seem to have no power in them to do any scorching with. Really love the background music in this video, brilliant.
Its a wood stain.
If it's not a problem, can I ask which one please?
damn, what kind of dremmel and bit are you using?
On screen at 25:16 in the video.
Thats a terrier from Kaizenbonsai. Available in 2 sizes and one for dremel too
what a beast!
awesome trunk
I love this and the initial stages of rock planting aren't often shown, I do have a question, will the mesh eventually be cut away once the trees establish?
Many thanks:) the mesh will stay on the rock
Hey Rammom. Nice to speak to you today down at the Birmingham boot sale. The tree looks amazing. The video Shows off your skills well. Nice work.
Nice too se you aswell. You're welcome:)
Nice music, but your don't need it, especially at the end. Can't hear a word you're saying at finally eval ... then you crank up the music. I'm not here for your choice in music, I'm here to learn. Very cool outcome with all that work, though.
Thank you for your comment, i have toned it down a bit in the next videos :)
Keren bosku sip👍👍👍
Thanks for the video, nice tree. Can you remind me if the large bark stripping tool you used here is a hoof knife. I’m trying to find one online but don’t see them with that big a curve on them…. Found it ‘wood carving knife / gouge’
Try kaizenbonsai.com and search for bark stripper :)
That's a nice larch! great potential
Some fantastic work and trees - cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely loved where you went with the wiring of this Larch. I managed to obtain about a dozen of these Welsh yamadori larch back in 2015 and they have been very challenging. Great video and nicely presented :)
Very interesting , can't wait for next video
The larch turned out great! I appreciate you explaining about adding taper and texture on the large jin. Would love to see the repotting of this sweet little shohin.
Please check out my instagram profile for the short video about repotting of this one. @bonsai_rammonhamers
