5 Guys Named Moe from Hey! Mr. Producer Also includes Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby!
My favorite of all "old time" actors. I dread the day when she leaves us.

He was The Engineer! Salute to a great talent!
I was lucky enough to watch a (different) production of this show after waiting 10+ years for it to come to a venue near me. It was everything I’d hoped it would be 🥰
He should never have played this part.
He's good in the role.
Characters be like that sometimes.
is this guy really Jonathan Pryce ?
Brazil
Beautiful. Based on a book written by Clark Peters, White rimmed glasses (Lester Freamon from The Wire).
Prince Philip was going through an identity crisis for a bit I see
Price was awsome, what a shame to notice him just in James Bond movie
Overwrought performance. Too bad - he has a great character originally.
goo goo gaga
All 6 of the 5 guys! 😄
There are 5 guys named moe, and a 6th character nomax.
Five guys named moe but I see 6
There are 5 guys named moe, and the 6th character nomax.
Oh my God! How did nobody notice that!?? 🙄
This is the guy actually playing the Pope today in our scripted and controlled reality . This is 100% and they even let him play the Pope in the The Two Popes movie. This video is mocking us the people. They have turned us all away from God the creator .
Fantastic! Wish it would be performed again!!!
I saw this live a a pop up theatre in marble arch. I urge anybody to go and see this show if they get the chance.
listen to the song Igor by Transiberian Orchestra, its similar but like a waltzy version of the chorus of this song
The pope!
Thanks!
About bloody time they gave him a Knighthood. Arise, Sir Jonathan Pryce!
I've tried to explain to people who haven't seen the movie why it's my favorite line. They really have to watch the amazing Maggie Smith deliver it to understand.
The best ever engineer !!!! Just brilliant 🙌🙌☝️☝️☝️🥰🥰🥰
He should never have played this part.
@@WillScarlet16 Hard to believe they weren't going to cast him in the Broadway production but too many people protested it. That definitely wouldn't happen now.
How is this not yellow face?!
what is yellow face
The character's half-French, genius. Also, do you see him wearing "Asian" makeup or even a wig? Of course it's not "yellowface."
Pinays and Pinoys consider themselves brown, not yellow.
@@jdlazar I'm green just like the American dream.
It is yellow face.
Having a white person play this part .... the lyrics of this song even screams how wrong it is . Not saying Pryce isn’t a talented actor and singer because he is ... but this role should never ever have been played by him. I’m so glad to have seen Jon Jon Briones in the role . He was everything the role should have been .
I only knew the revival and just learned that Pryce was in the original cast, like they couldn't find a different musical for him to showcase his talents?!
Actually, they at first refused to let him appear on Broadway in this part for this very reason. The conflict escalated to the point where two VERY prominent members of Actors' Equity threatened to leave the organization should Pryce not be allowed to appear.
If Jonathan Price doesn’t do the movie who do you think can play his part?
An Asian guy?? Please???
jonjon briones ofc

Theres 6
Lol yeah the show is called Five Guys Named Moe, and only five of these six characters are called Moe. I forget the other one's name but he's the central character.
@@ujustgotpwned2008 No Max
Surely Mr. Pryce is indeniably great and all, but omfg if the 2014 revival's number with Jon Jon Briones doesn't outshine this marvelously.
In all fairness this was a cut down version of this number for a show called hey mr producer , it was a tribute to Cameron Mackintosh. For me it's impossible to pick between Jonathan Pryce and Jon Jon Briones. They are both amazing engineers .
@@Fcutdlady briones was studying for a degree in engineering so I think he wins
So this is what's hes doing in Davy Jones Locker eh!?
You expect her to say "That's disgusting" but no, she's amused and you can tell she's imagining it with amusement even though she calls it tacky.
GOD I LOVE JONATHAN PRYCE! WHAT A TREASURE! APPLAUSE APPLAUSE! THE PERFECTION!
He should never have played this part.
While holding a cigarette, she utters those 6 delicious words that are music to my ears. Elegant and classy perfection.
I preffer the Jon Jon peformed
The sad thing of this isn't that the song is wrong.. it is that too much of it is true.
I had NO idea Jonathan Pryce originated the role of the Engineer until just recently, dude has some serious range!
Yeah it’s hard to play a race you aren’t
Watch The Two Popes on Netflix. He plays Pope Francis.
@@bethrunyan1856 Looks like him too - did not take much to make him look like the man. He really is a great actor; I've also seen him play Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, with his own daughter playing Shylock's daughter Jessica...But seeing this performance, he really would have made a great Billy Flynn in Chicago.
I was lucky enough to see him in the role in London in may 1991 with my Mum. He was mesmerising I couldn’t take my eyes off him ♥️
Range is one way to put it. He never should have played the role
What happened to the Cadillac Convertible????
This was performed and recorded for Hey, Mr Producer! A celebration of theater producer Cameron Mackintosh (Miss Saigon, Les Mis, Phantom, Oliver! etc.) so it was more a gala performance. The Cadillac is also a crazy prop, the venue may not have been able to support it if they did want to use it. In any case, it was a one off performance rather than part of the actual musical so adjustments are made.
Is that Governor Swann from Pirates of the Caribbean??😁you think you know an actor til you see them sing
Yes, he also played the lead role in Terry Gilliham's Brazil. Very talented man.
He also played the husband of Glenn Close in last year´s movie “The wife”. The lyrics to this song are fabulous. It was written 34 years ago and it seems like “today”. it is so current. Viet Nam was one of America´s darkest hours.
Stephane Thomas He was also Juan Peron in the film adaptation of Evita (with Madonna as Eva Peron), Charles Dicken’s father in “The Man Who Invented Christmas”, AND most recently costarred with Anthony Hopkins, as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio and Pope Benedict XVI respectively, in Netflix’s “The Two Popes”!
He was a Bond Villain as well. Also great as Prof. Higgins in My Fair Lady.
Stephane Thomas he was also the high sparrow in game of thrones
This guy is amazing, I love his character here and GOT
Jonathan Pryce
The Master in the Comic Relief spoof of Doctor Who.😆
The scene was filmed at Club Heaven in Fort Lauderdale Florida. It eventually became a club called Nepenthe. I remember the night they were filming it
MAN! I wish I coulda seen THAT!
My favorite line from the movie. What's funnier is she sounds judgmental yet not disgusted & frankly kinda interested. Eww. Hilarious.
My thoughts exactly! And for me, not just the funniest line in this move, but one of the funniest lines EVER! It cracked me up back then and it still does today.
these are the parts i find funnier than the parts everyone quotes. like the Jesus H Christ scene. or when James CoCo calls Capote a Lolipop
A demented lollipop!!
"You did WHAT to his ass?"
This is the story of a student got to fuck his teacher because the teacher found out his husband is having an affair with another woman so she did the same thing to got even with his cheating husband so she agree to his student to have sex with him
I like this movie cause of the soundtrack by bryan adams heaven
I remember this as young kid, Mr atkings is one of the first man crush i ever had, this man Jean claude van damme and Madonna made me gay
This is one of the most and interesting story plots used: Teacher and student forbidden relationship, second is sexy boss and conflicted worker, third is righteous priest and innocent lady, fourth is ugly person falling for a popular one and turning pretty, all of them are used all the time because people love elusive dangerous love stories, because most love stories in real life are just normal man dating normal lady.
In just a few seconds Maggie Smith gives a master class in how to deliver a funny line.
She is a master of comedic timing.
Always has been my favorite line in the movie!
