I saw Criss w/Otis Clay, @Biddy Mulligan's late 1970s. He looked like a teen, but was a mature, tasteful stylist decades beyond his age. c1984, he 'sat-in' at B.L.U.E.S., w/Jimmy Johnson, for a tune, ("You Don't Know What Love Is", by Fenton Robinson, re-arranged, recorded, & popularized by Jimmy). Criss didn't know the song, but after a few seconds' discussion between Criss & Jimmy, they played the best version ever, re-re-arranged on the fly by Criss. 1993, Criss played guitar on guitarist Harvey Mandel's "Twist City". Again w/virtually no prep, Criss invented perfect parts, executed beautifully, first take. His music's so integral to the recording that, it sounds like the songs were built around his guitar-playing.

Merlin Lucious is the most underated bass player at time, but he's my favorite one. . . He's such a veteran, and he's always in the pocket. . . The timing is faster, because that's how the Canton's do alot of sonqs when it's LIVE, I like to call it a ''Live rush'' because all of their sonqs are hits or have been hits at one time AND their on a time limit. . . I like it, very proffesional..
