A true enduro track. Stormoen (Norwegian for "the storm") is full of rock gardens, off camber raw sections, and a few punchy climb sections. Located at Mt. Telemark in Cable Wi. Find it on the Trailforks app.

approximately 18 miles of mostly singletrack with a couple short sections of ski trail in beautiful Cable WI. Mass start race which makes for a tough 1st half once you hit singletrack. Highly reccomended race!

Built and maintained by CAMBA (Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association), this is part of the Ojibwe Trail. An old school handcut style singletrack trail with plenty of roots and rocks. The Epic Bike Fest race uses this trail for both the short and long race courses.

this is one of the 2 black trails at the castle hub. Loam Wolf is a fast chunky singletrack trail. It has more of an old school handcut feel. one of my favorites in the area.

I went and looked at this trail, and got to the rocks at the :58 and thought, nope not trying that without at least watching someone do it and maybe following them in. The video makes it look relatively flat. In person it's quite steep. Nice riding.
The "gopro effect" really flattens out steep terrain lol. Def a good idea to get a tow on sections you might not be comfortable with.

Thanks for this post! Looks great! If you know the entire Full Epic course, how would you compare this segment, the Ojibwe Trail, to other segments of the Full Epic Singletrack course? More technical (rock gardens, drops, etc) than other parts of the course? Less technical? Or about the same? Just trying to get a gauge on what to expect from the singletrack of the Full Epic course. Thanks!
Ojibwe is an older hand cut style trail so it's a but more difficult than most of the other singletrack in the Epic course. There are a lot of roots and rocks on a pretty narrow tread, mixed with rolling terrain makes for a pretty good test of fitness and technical ability. The short course does the entire Ojibwe loop but the long only utilized ½ of this trail. Check out the Trailforks app to see info on all of the CAMBA trails that are used in the Epic.

@@adventurerunningco anytime 🙂. Makwa is probably the most comparable trail in terms of difficulty and technicality to Ojibwe so you'll have a good idea of what to expect after riding that part too.
Thanks for the ride! I haven't seen Ojibwe in a long time. I rode it a lot after it was first built. The last time I got to ride some of it was in 2018, while riding the 30 mile course of the Chequamegon 100. The new wider, flowy sections CAMBA implemented offer some welcome relief over the original brutally tight, narrow and techy singletrack.
