we need to talk about Sims 2’s literal mental breakdown
Sulsul!
Sims in Sims 2 can go through a mental breakdown. They will temporarily be uncontrollable and need a visit from "The Therapist" or The Sim Shrink. Besides that, younger Sims can be a rebel if they're unhappy. Here, I give everyone a platform to discuss Sims 2's brilliant aspiration and aspiration meter.

Sulsul! You might've heard that The Sims 2 has the most detailed inheritance mechanics throughout all of The Sims sequel. So, in this video, I’m discussing and comparing genetic inheritance throughout all of The Sims games so far that has hereditary features. This video mostly go over the dominant-recessive feature, exclusive to The Sims 2. 🌸 Sources 1. The Sims 2 Prima Guide 2. Forum discussin...

A deep dive into Sims 2 traits because its attention to detail is ✨️S Tier✨️

SulSul! In this video, I’m discussing The Sims 2 “traits” or commonly known in-game as “personality traits”. It works similarly to The Sims 3 dan The Sims 4’s traits. In The Sims 2, there are 10 of them, each has their own charm and more so, hidden features, including how they affect needs and skills. I also noticed that the hair style of the next generation usualy gets the same of one of the parents, like, if one of the parents has curly hair and the other straight hair, tha child may get a curly or straight hair, as the same if both parents have hair with dreads their children will have dreads also very often. Tell me if this is something just inside my head or its fr

great video! you can also find out your sims dna in sims 2 game by typing "simdna *first name*" in the cheat bar. This only works for sims on the lot. You can see their dominant and ressesive eye, hair and skintone and even the dominant face features.

I'm genuinely a bit heartbroken to see the characters having the desperation animations. Imagine that happening to a real person and how much pain that person must be in to end up breaking down like that. It's very sad to see yknow

Just picked it up again. The way sims acted in The Sims 2 was just way more charming. One would lie on its side as the other watched t.v next to it. The way they would still turn down advances of their S.O sim if they were low aspiration meter. I thought of this, like, sure, sims needs are met. But are they truly happy and ready to accept love right now? From the cut scenes to the charm of the world to the deep lore we were given behind every towns back story. It truly made me feel like I was watching a narrative, not created and forced by me, but directed by me. That's where Sims 4 got it wrong. They gave us a control station and said, "Tell them exactly what to do. Force their interactions. They'll do it." I mean, the moods were a great addition, but the implementation needed so much work. To see that built on more. Maybe one sim is embarassed. So a specific sim that doesn't like him in a group setting will mock him further. Maybe pull down his pants to get a few lulz from the group. Or someone who is his close friend will cheer him up. WITHOUT ME HAVING TO FORCE IT TO HAPPEN

Idk, the sims just weren't dramatic enough to sell what was happening in group settings.

Sims 2 genetics are awesome! one of my families, the husband has black hair, as did his parents and all 4 grandparents. His wife also has black hair. as her father. her mother is a blonde though. The couple's firstborn? a redhead! Turns out the fathers great grandmother was a redhead. the gene for red managed to survive as a repressive gene for 4 generation's in his lineage!

I have installed the equal genetics mod and after dozents of babies I have now a family who has the following set up Mary has blonde hair Gerald has brown hair Their son Simon has brown hair Abbigal has black hair Charlie has red hair Their daughter Chinsey has red hair So Simon and Chinsey had two sons The first Jacob got black hair from his grandmonther on his mothers side The second Caleb got blinde hair from his grandmother on his fathers side. It was amazing to see genetics being passed down as recessive. I don't even know what color the boys carry now as recessive one. Could be brown or red. XD

While I much prefer the traits system in Sims 3, I gotta say that I love how Sims 2's personality system has so much hidden details and changes that it feels like we haven't even discovered everything it has to offer 20 years after its release.

Initially when getting back into the sims 2 as an adult, I found myself bored with the gameplay. But videos like this remind me just how interesting the game play can be! When paying more attention to my sims wants and fears it adds more of a scripted/storyline element to the gameplay instead of just doing whatever you want as the player. It feels almost like a guide when I’m not sure where to take their story.

This is why I’ve found every other Sims game beyond 2 disappointing from a genetics standpoint, Sims 3 had better personality traits, I’d love to see Sims 5 combine the genetics system of 2, and the personality traits of 3

what is shown in the video is very maximum features. but what about the intermediate options? 🤷 Is there a difference between 4 and 6? and between 3 and 2? (does the character stop behaving like a shy one, should it be upgraded from 2 to 3?) and the limit of 25 points seems somewhat inconvenient... 😅especially if the character is "exist and you try to transfer his personality to these cones... (and what about the fact that some people are very nice and patient with "boring/strange people", but kick out rude people (not cry, after insulting like in Sims 2) And about "positive, shy, but emotional and pretty... Talker ? Loud dramatic? But shy. 😅 And "bro girl" active, but shy and dum in love😅
