This song is meant to be covered, it's asking for a change in tone at the end of the verses, a bit of yelling a bit of passion before that chorus.
I agree. Though I believe trip hop ( if that’s correct) stays linear. But I would love to hear a change up , maybe key changes. Plural, not a regular modulation up, but a straight up key changes in the middle that surprise as the singers would sing higher ( can’t go lower) that would naturally bring more emotion without necessarily changing the melody.
