Ah sorry, I think i abandoned this league after not being to happy with it on paper. Counterspells were just too effective.

@big_spook i won the last paper league with this list, maybe i put a “boseiju, who shelter all” only for protect myself from counterspells😂

@@pedroneves8485 First, every list I’ve seen that is not my own runs 4 Flame of Anor in the main board. So I might be wrong, but here is my logic. Here are the reasons I don’t think Flame of Anor is good enough to run 4 of in the main board. Note that it is a given that draw two is good but Flame is only really good if we can make use of the other 2 modes. By deck in the top 10 of mtggoldfish: Boros Energy: Deck goes wide. Doesn’t kill Phlage. Mardu Energy: Same as above but their bowmasters get value when we draw. Dimir Murktide: Doesn’t reliably kill frog or Murktide. Bowmasters. Jeskai Control: Drawing is decent but the other two modes are not really used. Through the Breach: Kills mycospawn for value but it’s still in bolt range and that’s not really a win to celebrate. Kills talisman but similarly not a win. good against thought knot if they run it Ruby storm: kills medallion, that’s good. Ral can still flip in response to a kill. best deck to have it for so far. Eldrazi tron: good against thought knot and possible chalice trinisphere. decent matchup to have it in. Amulet titan: a little slow to kill amulet but maybe it’s enough time. Damage can kill Dryad. Eldrazi Ramp: kills mycospawn for value but if they resolved mycospawn, they got value. talismans arent great hits. Domain Zoo: its decent here. hits their bigger threats. Of the top 10 decks it’s definitely good against: Ruby Storm, Eldrazi Tron, and Domain Zoo. And maybe good against Amulet Titan. And not that good against the remaining 6. Lightning Bolt and Galvanic Discharge are there to handle the turn one Guide of Souls and Ocelot Prides. (Boros + Mardu Energy are 23.7% of the meta right now.)

@@erlanitzayo5119 Hi! Thanks for dropping a comment! First and foremost, I want to say that Dimir Faeries has been my favorite deck in my 2.5 years of Modern. Super fun. And was decently effective prior to MH3. Strengths. Faeries has access to a bunch of blue creatures that have instant speed actions to pair with your plentiful instants. You can draw-go with so much potential on the opponent’s turn. Faeries as the most aggressive tempo counterspell: Spellstutter Sprite. Picklock Prankster functions as a “better” Expressive Iteration if your deck is set up right. Weaknesses. Many of your creatures are X/1’s (Orcish Bowmasters). You have to run the “bad” Faeries (Faerie Seer) to make Spellstutter Sprite succeed. Your damage output is low for a tempo deck unless you manage to stick a Bitterblossom. You have to survive more turns. You don’t have a Murktide to clean up the game. I do think MH3 further power crept Faeries by launching a bunch of 2 for 1’s. (See Boros Energy.) I sadly don’t think Faeries is RCQ level competitive, but I sure hope I’m wrong. That said, I’d say make it and jam it at FNM while you like it. I think it’s at least got a shot there. There’s a couple routes to take with Faeries: Mono Blue, Dimir, and Izzet. I can’t say much about Mono Blue. I suspect it’s significantly different from the other two. Dimir is better against Murktide (Faerie Fencing) and Psychic Frog (Fatal Push). Izzet is better against Boros Energy (Rough // Tumble). And Izzet also runs Flame of Anor as many Faeries are also Wizards. Hi Big_Spook, Thank you so much for the detailed response and for sharing your thoughts on Faeries! I really appreciate it, and it’s great to hear that it’s been one of your favorite decks in Modern. Your breakdown of the strengths and weaknesses was really insightful, especially your point about the deck’s lower damage output and the impact of MH3. I’m particularly interested in the Dimir version of Faeries, and I noticed that in your latest video, you used a version of the deck with Tamiyo. Do you think this is the best option for the current meta, or would you consider making any adjustments to optimize the Dimir Faeries build? I’d love to hear more about your thoughts on how to refine this version for competitive play. By the way, the izzet Wizards version you’re using also looks really interesting-though with my current collection, it’s easier for me to put together Dimir, so I might need to save up a bit before I can afford to try out the Wizards build. I haven't had enough data points on Tamiyo prior to my switch, but my quick thoughts are that it would replace the picklock prankster slot as it is primarily card advantage. Replacing any creature with Tamiyo does further reduce your damage output, though only slightly. It does feed into the lose to bowmasters case while Picklock Prankster kind of does the opposite, being able to efficiently block and its adventure side doesn't count as drawing a card. End of the day, while I think Tamiyo is a really fun card, I wouldn't run it over the existing creature suite. But I also wouldn't stop you from doing it. I don't think it's stictly worse to do run Tamiyo. Just evaluating the pros and cons pushes me to not run it. Further optimizations to dimir. I want a Murktide like threat to close out the game faster, but this deck is creature heavy and doesn't fill the yard up with instants and sorceries as fast imo. I could be wrong. I know this looks a little weird, but I think Gurmag Angler is worth trying as it synergizes with Picklock Prankster's adventure. Probably a 1 of. I haven't tested it out myself. After RCQ season, I may do more testing with Faeries. Also, I'd say Toxic Deluge (Be mindful of life if you're running Bitterblossom) or Malicious Eclipse are good to bring in against the rising Boros/Mardu Energy Decks. Unfortunately you don't have 2 mana kill their board in black as you do in red. Best of luck!

Not so great this time around. 1-2 drop, as 2 losses that early was not going to make the top 8 cut. Fun overall though. Nice but competitive people. I'll still grind RCQ this season trying out different builds. Should be more interesting after the ban announcement haha.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm running Tamiyo again now! I used to run her and kind of consider her a flex slot for this build, so I've been trying different cards in her place. She's back at the moment though! I think bauble will require a bigger rework to think about, but I'll consider it.
