What an absolute dick move by the bandmates to fire her like this. Both on professional and personal levels. That being said, perhaps this move saved Tarja and Nightwish. They got so much publicity out of it that the careers of both were off to a great start. Without the drama, neither would have been this big, not Nightwish, and not Tarja. I mean they were popular back then, but this drama... people talked about it for several months. So maybe.... after all.... this dick move was the final loving thing Tuomas did for Tarja. He caused her loved one immense pain here, maybe a bit of it was revenge, but even in revenge he saved her solo career.

so.. after all these years.. we all can see that Nightwish without Tarja's work is nothing and nonce. and mentioning life of another bands it was quite cruel to not care about her and about touring schedules. I just pray to god to send her fine metal lyricist and composers to complete heavy music with the real beauty

I do understand Tarja's arguments and why she is upset. It's a shame to see the way it was done. Tarja proved she could carry on without Nightwish, and I'm happy for her.

Finally I found a recording for the whole press conference. It only took nearly 20 years... Tarja was really classy for the whole conference. If anything, it sounds like the band never understood that the singer *is* an instrument. The rest of the band probably understands very well that they need to take care of their instruments but if they think that the instrument that the singer uses is the *microphone,* they have totally misunderstood the situation. The microphone is more like the pedal for the guitarist; if only that works, your performance will be pretty bad. And if the band cannot talk about issues like this, it's no wonder that each party is getting more and more separated as the time passes by.

As much I love Nightwish I can understand how stupid that letter was. I don't think she was a diva in a bad way. I believe touring was a really hard for Tarja, but the boys misunderstood her and it's possible they have argued too. And Tuomas later said the way how they fired Tarja was wrong, so he now understand his mistakes. Marko also apologized Tarja and they're friends again. Nobody's perfect and it's okay to talk about the problems ect. but also I believe some people deserve the second chances. And as a Finnish person myself I'm proud of Nightwish, because they're one of the biggest bands in my country and of course around the world. And I think Nightwish is always awesome with Tarja, Floor and Anette. ❤️ All of them brought so much magic to the music in their own way and Tuomas is a genius songwriter and amazing keyboardist too. ❤️ Tarja made Nightwish unique and iconic with her powerful voice and she was the first metal singer ever who made opera and metal perfect together and she influenced so many heavy metal singers. And with her albums with Nightwish I love her solo albums too. Anette has a poppy voice, I know, but she is not a bad singer either and her voice is so rocky too. Her voice fits for Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum perfectly and of course I like her version of The Siren with Tarja's version. And her current band The Dark Element is also awesome! Floor is the Queen of Versatility. And I can say she is a great mix of Tarja and Anette and I'm glad she is now in Nightwish. I love her works with After Forever and ReVamp too and I wish I was born earlier, because I would love to enjoy the times when After Forever was exist, but I was born in 2000 when their first album and Nightwish's Wishmaster came out and I didn't hear about AF until I heard about Floor for the first time. All of these singers are my heroes. ❤️ They can bring so much emotions and cool vibes to the songs. All bassists Marko, Jukkis and Sami are great, however in my opinion Marko brought so much power to the band, but I'm open for Jukkis and Sami too. And Emppu is such a guitar master! Jukka and Kai are both great drummers and Troy's melodies are wonderful. ❤️ The world of Nightwish is so incredible!

As much as this moment in Tarja's career was tough and it hurts to know 'bout it all, I usually come here because, damn, it's undeniable how beautiful Finnish language sounds. Listening to it for half an hour nonstop for me is a delight! I put my headphones on and get lost in how these words are formed in her mouth. <3

To humiliate someone in front of the entire world through the press with an open letter is incredibly juvenile and straight up vicious. Tarja didn't kill anyone or even insult somebody's mother - she had some career disagreements with her bandmates. That does not justify such a public flogging. What, was Holopainen jealous that her husband went home with Tarja every night when Tuomas wished he could have or something? I have a hard time believing the other 3 members were ok with that letter. At least a couple of them were probably afraid to object for fear of suffering the same fate. I thought everything Tarja was asking for was more than reasonable considering the success the band had achieved and I thought her being honest about her future intentions along with offering to continue on for a period was very gracious, yet that seemed to be completely misinterpreted by at least one individual drunk on power. Holopainen may be the Beethoven of symphonic metal, but in correlation with this he was just another idiot in a world full of them.

Nightwish is foolish to fire her

It breaks my heart to see her like this😢💔, but I’m glad she’s ok now and happy after the breakup with Nightwish in 2005 it’ll never be the same without her and now we can still listen to Nightwish songs (with Tarja) and Floor Jansen too❤️❤️
