Ogmore by Sea caves revisited
A walk along the beach between Ogmore by Sea and Southerndown at low tide to visit the caves and take a few photographs. This walk can only be attempted on low spring tides, so caution is advised as the ground covered is very rocky and uneven, and the whole stretch gets cut off an hour after low tide.

A big spring tide enticed me to explore the area around Mewslade Bay to take some photos.I had great fun following the tide as it dropped and scrambling round the headlands. I decided to process the photos in black and white to give more drama to the sky. p.s. the orange pink stringy thing in the rock pool that looked like a worm was the eggs of a Sea Hare.

I was lucky enough to spend two wonderful weeks in Sardinia this summer, and this was my first attempt to use a GoPro to record life below the waves. A walk on a low spring tide to visit some of the caves between Ogmore by Sea and Southerndown.
Hello! I’m staying in Ogmore from Sunday to next Friday, am I’m hoping to visit these but I’m worried the tide won’t be on my side! I don’t suppose you know roughly how far out the tide needs to go out in order to access them?
Never knew they were there. Amazing stuff. I live in Llantwit and the caves here are too dangerous due to rock fall
