Nerdy Prudes Must Die | Baldur's Gate 3 Astarion Animatic
Thank you to my favorite dress-up game/ dating sim Baldur's Gate 3 for dragging me out of my awful art block.
SERIOUSLY though, it was SO nice to make an animatic again after a year with barley drawing at all. I know it's not long but i was re-listening to NPMD (because it's a banger musical) and my brain fried thinking about Astarion monologuing with this part of the namesake song.
This takes place AFTER the battle with Cazador, hence the black eye and busted lip, and why he just sits there the whole time instead of fighting back. The vague shapes of other people don't really matter, just that one of them casts "Daylight" that makes the red light source halfway through.

Beelzebub on the show is not female, because canonically demons nor angels have gender! People refer to Bee as they/them on the show too, which makes sense because their tittle is "LORD of the flies" despite their feminine looks. I really like that sharp contrast, it made their relationship with Gabriel really neat and fun 😊😊

What a good animation. Congratulations! I swore it was after the second season, the animator predicted the future. I think there were better songs to put at the center of these two, like, the context of this musical is very different from that of Gabriel's relationship with Beelzebub in the series, but the animation is still good.
It is funny looking at this video because at that time a lot of people thought Gabriel and Beelzebub would have a love/ hate relationship. And though they were right that they would get together they were wrong what type of relationship they’ll have. Though I love enemies to lovers I’m glad Neil didn’t go that route with them. Enemies to lovers have to be well written and be with characters we see a lot. If badly written it could be toxic.
