Quick first impression of custom Star Wheels boots
I went out on a limb and ordered some custom boots from Colombia from a company I was unfamiliar with. But I am super happy I did! So far I have been very impressed with the build of the boots and the ability to follow my crazy design!

Amazon (no name) Skate Bag Tour/review
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
I found this DS/Denouniss? Brand skate bag on Amazon for like $27 and decided to try it out. Well, I got it for a friend to try out. But I wanted to see what fits in it! You buy skate bags online and they don't show you how much gear they hold so you need to pray your junk fits! Now I'm looking around online, maybe I didn't spend (nearly) $200 on my Seba bag. Lol Do you have this bag? What do y...
Quick Tour/review of the Seba skate bag

I have been using my Seba bag for about 4 years now to hold all of my derby gear. It does a great job but I wish it had a little more room! But with all of the pockets and storage, I can make it work. This will give you an idea of how much gear the Seba (large) bag holds to help you decide if this bag is right for you. So far, it holds up great! Now I'm looking around online, maybe I didn't spe...
Cleaning off your Roller Skate wheels

All About Toe Stops! (well, a lot)

Some information on the types of toe stops out there and how to adjust your toe stops in your roller skates. Adjustments are always about preference and making sure you find what height works for you and your style. If you skate without toe stops, please use jam plugs! I'm not sponsored or paid by anyone to sell you any specific brands. These are just ones I have happened to have on hand or the...
First impressions of Intentionally Blank roller skates
Переглядів 8152 роки тому
I got a hold of the cow print Intentionally Blank skates to see how they compare to the other white labels. These are basic roller skates but not made with high quality materials. They'd be fine for indoor and outdoor cruising, but not skate parks.

Replacing Roller Skate Tongue with sheepskin - part 2
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
In a previous video I showed how to remove the old, rotting foam from a skate tongue. Here is how you can replace it with shearling (aka sheep skin). I had cream scraps but I have also used the sheepskin seatbelt pads from Amazon. Lol I used Barge all purpose cement (most cobblers use this stuff so it just be good.) Mats: Sheepskin Sharp cutting tool/leather knife/xacto Adhesive (something flex...

Removing old foam from roller skate tongue - Part 1
Переглядів 6223 роки тому
Is the padding on your roller skate tongue crumbling, falling apart, looking gross, needs to be replaced, or you want an upgrade? Here is the easiest way to remove it. Using a heat gun could probably help loosen the glue but be careful not to melt the rubber into the leather. Roller skate modifications - Taking the circles off Wifa boots
Переглядів 1 тис.3 роки тому
A friend from Florida ordered some Wifa boots from a local skate shop owner friend of mine and the Florida friend asked me to take the suede circles off of the boots. That part was easy. Erasing the seam holes was not.
How to correctly put on toe guards with bonus on how to protect your laces!
Переглядів 1223 роки тому
There are many videos showing the wrong way to put on toe guards, with the guard between the plate and the washer/nut. This extra soft layer will lead to the toe stop unscrewing and falling out, because it compresses and twists under the metal. It's not secure. The guard should be between the toe stop rubber and the nut, so the washer/nut is torqued against the plate. When you think it's tight ...
Stuck Toe Stops? Preventing Skate Toe Stops from getting stuck

Comparing some skate stiffnesses
Переглядів 583 роки тому
Just a general video about skate support and stiffness. "Best skates" are a matter of comfort, preference, and opinion. I show Moxi Lollies, Golden Horse Magics, and a couple other skates here. Also, buy used! You can get some nice used skates out there. You don't need brand new skates if you're just starting out, and there are some good deals out there. 💚💚

should plates be mounted straight inline with the seam on the toe box? Im a new skater and trying to gain all the knowledge
No. The plates should be lined with the third toe area. Some people center the plate to the center of the sole of the boot. There is a little bit of science and a bit of experienced needed when mounting a plate to a boot.
@@bonacheeta I just checked my beach bunnies and they look pretty centred with the toe seem to me but then again I don't really know what I'm looking for
Worst design for toe stoos ever. The allen key one is great, but sure grip plates suck.
These are amazing, I'm curious how you did the tough toe?
how's the suade dye holding up on the boots as of today?? super pigmented 😍
Thank you for review🔥🔥🎉
Try Bont boots, as they are much wider towards the front. The shape of their boots looks more like the shape of a real feet. I purchased a size bigger, to allow for the thicker and more padded innersoles. I take some anti inflammatory tablets an hour before I put on the skates - helps heaps.
I've had multiple pairs of Bonts and I prefer my Solaris. I replaced the tongues on these and they are better.
I have a pair of Solaris on order and eagerly waiting to try them - All the Best
I’m restoring a pair of vintage Riedell Snyders and Sure-Grips with the XR plates. Rust-treated and polished all plate parts, and wanted to find ideas for the tongues. They’ve crumbled with age, and I think the shearling material would be a nice addition. Thanks for the inspiration and instruction. 😉
this was the only video i could find of this bag, i wish you had more views. thanks a lot :)
I've found it difficult to see any clear pictures or any videos of skate bags showing them open or full of junk. So I made videos of the ones I had. Lol. I've been using this Seba for maybe 5 years now? And I love it. It's still a LITTLE small but that's probably cuz I want to carry everything lol
@@SkateFetish thanks for the feedback! do you think it's a good bag to also carry a small (14") laptop? i was thinking about using it for uni too
@@user-ll5vv7rv9p make sure you have another covering like a neoprene laptop case so it doesn't get beat up inside the bag but if you don't carry a lot of stuff, it should work!
How long is this lasting you? I wanna try this out
Tbh, I don't know! I sold these skates to a friend and I don't think she's ever skated them! 🤦♀️
What if I removed toe stopa with No problem but new ones won’t go in? They get stuck 1/3 in.
You might have gotten imperial and are trying to put them in metric plates, or vise versa.
love your process thx for sharing
thank you for the breakdown! I will be using what came with my inlines for the time being but love everything fancy so it's nice to see what is out there.
Great job ❤
Thank you for the info on the shearling seatbelt straps 👌...just ordered a pair to do my skate tongue's....I wldv never thought of that....I wldv wasted a bunch of money and had a LOT of extra material that I wldnt even use and it looks like the straps just need to be trimmed up a bit but they'll work as perfectly as you can get for doing just the tongues 💯....
What kind of glue do you use?... Rubber cement?? & What if the tongue is brand new?... Can you just glue it to the back of the tongue? Or shld you cut the padding thats on there off?... Im trying to do this to my new Bont Racer U-cuts and REALLY REALLY dont wanna screw it up....i know i can do it if i had the right instructions...
I have used spray adhesive (Loctite and Gorilla) but ultimately, Barge shoe cement would be the best way to go. Actually the BEST BEST is getting a leather sewing machine or having a cobbler sew it in. LOL. But I don't have time or money for that! I always remove the underlying tongue foam or whatever is gonna touch the foot cuz it's usually crumbly, but if it's in ok condition, maybe it's fine to cover? I am all about screwing up my own stuff so I have gotten past being afraid of messing up skates. :P A lot of what I do is trial and error, and knowing some basics about material science (I'm by no means a pro, but I try to follow pro stuff if I can)
@@SkateFetish I think u did a great job on them ...Its not Rocket science or anything 🤷♂️🤣 so it basically comes down to trimming it the rt size and making sure the glue will hold up 👌...I'm doing my new Bont Racer U-cuts and I just wanted to make sure that you take out the padding and cloth that covers it....that was my MAIN contemplation... wasn't sure if that stuff comes off or what but from what everyone says it does....so for me it's out with the new and in with the new NEW.... I've ALWAYS had shearling in my skates and it's Soooo comfortable and with seeing your videos it really helped put a visual on what I have to do....
Really appreciate the review! you mentioned ur usually a wide 8.5 or 9... did you take the size 39 or 40??
I ended up with a 39 and they were tight around the toes and ball area.
Those skates are hot! Thanks for the inspiration!
My RedReed bag got stolen and they are discontinued. I don't want to spend $100 on a new bag. So this might be an option. I don't like that it doesn't unzip down the side.
Hey I saw your other video! Where can you purchase the foam to replace it on my skate?
Not sure. I just use shearling or felt.
Where can you order replacement for the tongue? I just want leather not the sheepskin. Where can this be purchased?
I would love to know where your glasses are from 😍
Zenni! They were like$70!
Doing this to my anabolix sollerets and hint or tip for ya there's the perfect fabric at harbor freight or any supply store like Lowe's or a mechanic store. And look for buffer pads for polishing they come in big circles with a strap. U just cut out the strap Nd get the left over fabric which one is 2$ and does two tongues Nd they have different shades of the sheepskin or w.e it's made of yours could be different but man it's so soft. Nd the backing is perfect to glue and lay. I'm thinking of glueing and doing a fine stitch in the corners and middles spots.
I’m looking to upgrade my Boardwalks to new Avanti Magnesium plates and there’s no one (at least that I’ve found) within a 3 hour radius who offers a remounting service. At first I thought it was something I could do myself but I’m super intimidated by the process. You’re such a bad ass for doing that yourself on those riveted plates!
I will say there is work and knowledge involved in remounting your skates. BUT... since it was already premounted, you miiighhhhtt be able to line up the new holes to how the plate was previously lined up. But finding the right plate size for you (and not just based on a chart) and any nuance with mounting could be iffy. I practiced on Vans skates. lol
I love this setup! I'm love the Scott Corey's! I want to grab a set if I can find them. Everything about these skates are super awesome!
So helpful thank you
So how do you get your toe stop out once it is stuck in the plate?
My husband had to use a pipe wrench to get it out but it damaged the plate and toe stop. I had to retap and thread them.
I bought a tap. Had to drill mine out. Only had my skates 2 hours before it got stuck when I was adjusting it.
Great work, nice method! Love the purple, purple and black great combination!
Very custom setup and nice overview and breakdown.
Thanks!
They look so cool! Do you use any preparer and finisher or just the dye?
I use scotchgard to finish to help prevent running but the dye will still run when sweating.
Heya! How much were they? :D
They were less than$300!
Thanks for the breakdown, I just got this bag and was hoping it will work out to carry all my grear and skates.
Thank you! 😁 this was a big help! As obvious as it seems I couldn't really picture in my head how to start going about this
Ha! I'm glad it worked! Lol
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Had this saved on Amazon for a while so thank you for your review cuz the pics on Amazon doesn’t show any details.
Thank you. Bought this for my husband and didn't understand the flap pocket for skates :). We've been putting them inside.
This is the most thorough review I have seen of these skates. Thank you! I believe we have similar foot challenges and potentially the same build. I have been going back and forth between ordering these and the Bont Hybrids.
I will say that the thing I hate most about these boots are the tongue. I was able to get riedell to replace the tongue for me without all the foam and they fit even betttterrr. The Bonts are also really nice; I almost got those before I found these.
@@bonacheeta I finally found a skate shop about an hour away that has both so hopefully I have new skates coming my way soon!
How do you like the plate? Is it stable? Is there anything you don't like about it?
I love the plate but I needed a shorter one. It's a little too long for me. It's otherwise very stable.
@@bonacheeta do you find the falcon plate to turn reasonably well?
Do you like your boots with the crazy plate? I was considering that one - it’s so cool looking.
This made my night Thank you. Always been a reidell skater, then Moxi which is reidell … branched out to try a MoonBoot and is arriving soon. I had been looking at golden horse as well so loving all the info here. Thank you
Great video......awesome wheels......the SC Wickeds are tough to get!!
They're no longer made. :(

Pretty cool bag thanks for sharing!
How do you color lab? I just got this skate NDA can’t find my info really about them. I appreciate this videos so thanks for taking time to make it!
You do a (semi) custom order through Riedell and request the colors
@@bonacheeta gotcha was thinking it was aftermarket thing I just got some non custom and trying to break them in. Was hoping some color would inspire me to push through the pain. Can you post some lacing techniques? If already did one forgive me I'll take a look now! Your awesome!
@@motherearther218 Sure, I can work on that this week or next week. :)
@@motherearther218 You can paint your skates. I use Angelus. But the paint can scratch off if you bump them or fall a lot.
I was wondering the same thing so I emailed customer service. The rep said because they no longer use Flash on their website, the ColorLab feature is disabled, but you can still pick your colors with their form. You just won't be able to see your colors the boot before receiving them.
Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome!
Great review! Thank you for sharing. I was looking at some discounted IB skates on dollskill and I was skeptical of the price drops!
You just made me REALLY glad I didn't shell out for these!
What wrong with them? I’m kinda confused?
@@kairilaicreampuffs nothing's wrong with them, but they're marketed as a custom, but they're not, exactly. And for the price point of the pair I was considering ($600) that was something good to know.
That color is beyond! <3
I just got a pair....might return! Boot is super hard! I'm not a pro skate but I like to for fun!
So cool, thanks! I love your leggings too 🥰
Thanks! :P
Did you buy it brand new ?
Yes. I bought them as a blemish with a glue spot and a scratch on the surface, but brand new
I also have another question, when you put them on did the fit tight or snug ?
@@maryd3392 They actually ended up being a size too big. I was using the size chart and it wasn't accurate. lol. But they are made wide.
@@SkateFetish ooh so I’m a 6.5 in women’s I know they run in men’s size but I’m not sure if I should get a size 5 or 6 in men’s
