Dimmable and Color Adjusting LED Under Cabinet Lighting

I install LED strip lighting for above and under the kitchen cabinet lights. In the future I may put them on a smart switch. These lights can be dimmed and go from cool white to warm yellow. FREE Table Saw Push Blocks

I use some scrap material around the shop to make my table saw just a little safer. The stock push sticks that most saws come with do not properly support the piece being cut and kickback is a very dangerous result for woodworkers. I have a ton of old hardwood flooring to use for future projects and the size of these boards are the perfect dimensions to want to drift in to the blade and kick back.

I remodeled our living gas fireplace using stone veneer and a solid wooden beam. I wanted a place to hide all of our audio and video components behind the TV to a built a compartment behind the tv. Next time do a French cleat to hang the mantle
We have a house very similar to yours. Are fridge is where you are planning to move yours and the stove is almost in the same place. To keep it short have you been able to put a kitchen table in your kitchen area?
Did you close up the wall in the kitchen I have one too and don't know how to bring it into 2024
Because you used cement board, is that the reason you didnt have to put a scratch coat on first?
What kind of stone is this?
What did you use on the bottom of the cabinets? The finished wood???

The other thing you could do to get the door up higher is to shorten the j arm. Then the door would travel higher.

How did u connect them to the wall. I don’t see any drill holes inside the cabinets
Cabinet screws to the studs through the back on the cabinets. Most times there’s a thicker strip of wood at the top and bottom that I like to screw through.
What did you do to kill the mold?
Do you need to grout the gap between the stones?
I just did a dry stack with no grout.
Guess the wife couldn't help him with the mantel. Looks great good job.

Shouldn’t have painted the outside of the house to look sleek… I would have kept the brick untouched…
Brick remains untouched! No painting happening there.
Ryobi drills are the best and impact drivers. My dad has them and my grandparents.

Hi, your setup looks great. I am planning to do something similar. Just curious, how high did you mount the TV? and whats the distance from the floor to the bottom of fireplace and the distance between the fireplace and the mantel? I am trying to decide on a tv height and dont wanna end up too high. I have a 65" TV. Thanks
Thanks! We moved from this house so I can’t measure, but the bottom of the tv was just below chest height (I’m 6’5”). Check out the recommendations on your fireplace if you can. My natural gas insert had specific clearances on how much space was needed.

In the room with the shelving and paneling, just paint the paneling behind the shelves an accent color. Then you don’t have to remove anything and the wall will look like bead board. Kitchen, iron pass through, you can close the lower half in with cabinets and a breakfast bar. Still open at the top to the den. I would do a wood stove or electric fireplace in the den. On the wall by the door to the garage. Looks like my house! Good luck!

where did you get the mantel
I wish I could remember the name but it was a very small place in southwest Denver that just had random lumber.
Do the light strips automatically turn on when you flip the light switch on? Does the light switch bypass the remote?
The lights keep the last setting. So if we dim them with the remote or set the color temp, the switch turns them back on at those settings without needing to touch the remote.

Probably should’ve taped and mudded those seams on the Durock, along with dampening the Durock before adding mortar to the wall in addition to back buttering the stone. Looks great though, hope it lasts.
I get taping seams for tile in a shower, but what’s the thought for the stone? Time will tell but I wasn’t able to remove a stone when I tried with a pry bar and hammer so I don’t think the moisture was pulled out of the mud too fast.

Did you solder any of the wires or did you just twist them together and put heat shrink tube over them?
I have soldered them in the past but didn't on this one. The twist and shrink tube has held up just fine but solder is also a good belt and suspenders option.

Watched your video. You put a orange color sheet on the ground before laying the tiles. I wonder what material is that? Is it plastic or cardboard? Is it soft or hard? What is his name? When I go to Home depot, how many do I need to buy for a 70 Ft bathroom? How much is it about? What kind of material I need to buy for stick tile and fill crack? Please answer me. Thank you!
It’s called Ditra. I used the XL version which is a little taller. It’s a decoupling membrane that allows the tile to move independently from the expansion/contraction of the wooden subfloor. It comes in different sizes rolls but should tell you how much sq footage the roll will cover. It isn’t cheap but it’s cheaper than having to replace your new tile if it cracks.

Looks great! Good problem solving, too. It would appear more "real" if you added a stone hearth in front of the firebox.
I agree. If I was building it from scratch I would have definitely put a raised hearth to be able to sit on. Only reason I didn’t with this was that I didn’t want to have to redo and repair where the vent exited the outside of the house. Maybe the next one.
@@CraigHartmanDIYEven if you cut out and removed the wood flooring 16" in front of the fireplace and replaced it with a complimentary stone tile, it would really finish it off. You could whip that out in a weekend!

You’re 100% right. I actually talk about this in my fireplace video on which side to use. Even though I know it, I definitely wasn’t paying attention when I put those up 🤦🏼♂️. Guess that’s the benefit of documenting. I have wondered by the time you put on a waterproofing membrane how much the texture impacts it. Thank you for the comment. It will definitely make me pay attention next time!
