Flipside of this one off mystery acetate with Jinx turning in a synth laden AOR ballad; judging by the Master Room label design and sound probably a 1975-1979 time stamp on this.

B-side of this disco dancer single from the minds of Gene Latter & Kris Ife, joined at the production seat by Miki Dallon, creating a irresistibly catchy groove with "I Wanna Dance." Version 2 is an edit with a longer guitar intro and no kazoo segment at the end. A bright snappy commercial number. Hotcha! A Young Blood Production for EMI Records, October 10, 1975.

Kelly - Don't Ever

The b-side to the lone single under the Kelly name from ex-Freddie And The Dreamers' Roy Crewdson & Bernie Dwyer finds them turning in the unusual "Don't Ever" that sounds like it was written & recorded on the spot. Produced by Roy Crewdson for bingo hall label Tiffany Records, 1975.
Kelly - I'm Talkin' To Ya
Переглядів 1764 місяці тому
A fabulous forgotten glammy junkshop single from, of all people, guitarist Roy Crewdson and drummer Bernie Dwyer from Freddie And The Dreamers turning in the rollicking "I'm Talkin' To Ya" for bingo hall affiliated Tiffany Records; how this hasn't been put on a compilation yet is beyond me. No clue how they came to put out this single, but thankfully they did and it's ripe for rediscovery. Writ...

Love this man what a voice. How he was not the biggest star I will never understand 😢❤
Merci pour cette chanson que j'ai cherchée depuis près de 5 ans sans succès. Même sur UA-cam. Je tapais << santa>> mais elle n'apparaissait jamais. J'y suis tombé comme par hasard. Vraiment merci.
Fun fact, the section from the 3:43 mark until the end, Stone Temple Pilots used this as their show intro for the 2024 Jubilee Tour(30th anniversary) of their 2nd album, Purple. They just wrapped the tour last week. Was really awesome hearing this cranked on a massive stage. They walked on the stage with about 30 seconds left and then used the closing drum hits as a count-off to start the show. Super cool. Also, the final show was in... INDIANA!
Going through another box of 7s from the shed here and this was in the box I picked up, seriously only me and two other's, this would sound great in a movie soundtrack 👍👍👍👌👌
Sounds like Eric Stewart on lead vocals. A 'jokey' cover but of interest to hard core fans. I'd never heard of this until now!
Sounds like a bunch of Memphis or Nashville session musicians.
As far as I know the recording lineup was the actual band themselves rather than any session musicians, but it definitely shows off a new country influence to their music!
Vocalist Tony Burrows of Edison Lighthouse recorded the hit original..this ain't it.
‘Jasper C Debussy ‘ by Marc Bolan, 1967. Bolan’s superior lyrics and vocals wiped and this added. Is this legal ? It’s not ethical..
Holy shit, is this legit?
My friend and I, Janet, saw Neil singing this at the Floral Hall theatre, Scarborough. He was part of the summer show back in the 70's. . He was excellent and what a lovely young man he was. He invited us into his dressing room where he signed our autograph books and we had photos taken with him. I have still got Hazel Eyes on vinyl. Lovely memories. If you're reading this Neil, thank you!! 💙
Actually, can anyone else detect a bit of Blackberry Way in this.
An absolute classic!
First! Thank you algorithm. I'm blessed today.
Do you have faith? Then you will survive The times of happiness, times of joy With that rainbow around your skyline you can get by But in times of grieve or in times of pain Just let the mackintosh 'round your shoulders take the strain Introducing Moira's hand, seated at the grand piano Part of Alexander's band Who are world-renowned for getting on with the song She ran away from home they say, she wanted to get into ragtime Now with dreams of yesterday She's sometimes happy, though very often shе'll cry But she has faith and she will survive Thе times of happiness, times of joy With that rainbow around, she's sure to get by Through the times of grieve and the times of pain She lets the mackintosh 'round her shoulders take the strain With gun and holster in his palm, Tex sits down to eat his dinner He digs the music from the band Though he's not been known to sing along with their songs Oh, he's a lonely, lonely man, he sits alone when he eats his dinner Once was Moira's right-hand man But now he dreams of only yesterday's joys Undisputed point of fact, Tex was never born a winner Moira's never coming back Now she's known a good band, she's played on a good song And time may come and time will show Who gets sweet Moira's hand in marriage With sadness Tex must bear this blow So let's close the show, say sad goodbyes to the song

Better version
Awesome, and maybe not a cover, but recorded before Randy Newman did . . . Peggy Lee's is a great cover Randy arranged/conducted (also the title track), and sure sounds like he also played piano. ua-cam.com/video/xEvZ7dCiABo/v-deo.html

Would love too, whenever you are serious......

Never heard this version ❤ the pops
Typical Susan, Able to belt out a song and hear every word , Quality
Good think you mention Freddie & The Dreamers, because there was another Kelly, this one a Scottish guitarist and singer who put out a single in the 1960s. No connection whatsoever.
Sorry neil that's the correct spelling

Teenage memories of happy days under a beautiful summer sun… Doesn't seem to be any LP issue, according to Discogs & C°
Such an interesting and cryptic song. Wishful thinking, but I really hope some movie uses one of BA Robertson's songs from Wringing Applause so that Stax Records could reissue the album.
I've never understood why Wringing Applause or any of the other non-Big Star albums from Ardent have yet to be reissued, especially when some cuts have appeared on compilations over the years. I still hold out hope they will be someday!
Loved this song.
😂😂😂😂
Thank you for uploading this, I thought it would take a long time but no, thank you.

At some point I was told that this tune was used in a movie ... but I've never been able to confirm it.
Fascinating! I hadn't heard that before but will certainly be on the lookout now to see if I can track that down.

Fantastic non album track released in 1970 on Memphis beautiful records.
Fantastic original cut of their great powerpop track feel alright. Very different than the album cut.
This is great, with the payoff at the end.
Should have been released after Rosemary under the Edison name - would have been a monster!
RSVP promotions Scooby Lou from Jackson Mississippi in Ocho Rios Jamaica loves this song. I’m glad I was the first person to listen to it and leave a review. Thank you I feel truly honored.❤🎉❤
"mysterious" group Horizon was also known as Jennifer's Friends, Daybreak, and Smokey John Bull or in their earliest years, Zyme. Legendary producer was Lou Merenstein of Inherit Productions. Record companies included Buddha, Uni (MCA), Avco Embassy, Pye, Aster. The biggest mystery is how we had so many recordings and no hits! One song, Good Morning Freedom, recorded under the name Daybreak was on national Billboard charts for three weeks in May-Jun, 1970.
Is this Mark Lipson? I'm currently writing a short piece about Buddah singles. It would be great to speak to you if so.
Great cut! The intersection of garage rock and bubblegum pop is one of my fave subgenres. Pretty sure there was no LP from these guys, but I would like to be proved wrong.
Actually I think I like the arrangement on this one better than the original. A lot more powerful.
I've always liked this cover too! Always thought it was one of their stronger productions.
