three days of FILM PHOTOGRAPHY in FORTROCK, OREGON | FILM PHOTOGRAPHY

Back in August 2021 I spent three days in Eastern Oregon to photograph the stars over Fort Rock. Unfortunately the smoke from the wildfires was too thick and we couldn't see the stars well enough. These are some of the photos and video I got from the trip. Some photos are film and some are digital. Enjoy! Follow me on instagram: ielizabethdavis

In this video I share some photos I took while walking through Forest Park in Portland, OR last spring. The park is one of my favorite places in portland. It's a quick escape from the city with 70 miles (112 kilometers) of hiking trails, streams, bridges and great views. Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the U.S. and covers 8.08 square miles or 20.93 square kilometers. I made t...

That's my routine. Wake up. Watch something on UA-cam for hour. Get out of bed, make coffee, feed the animals. Then decide if I have energy to go to the gym or even a walk.😂
Cameras are so expensive. When I start looking one I will probably get a used 1 myself. Not sure, if you're a touched face on it, but if you have tips for finding a good used camera, that'd be great.
Great video
Thank you!
I love corgis. I’d love to have one. Good luck with your channel. Nice and informative video. ❤
Thanks so much!
He is adorable!❤ ❤
Thank you! I'm a huge fan of yours as well, and . Your editing is fantastic, and it's incredibly attractive!
wow this video is doing great! I recon you could make this channel based mainly on your corgi and it would do great!
Your Corgi be like "ok she talking to herself again, Ima go now" 🤣🤣
very informative video, well done! And best of luck on you journey to monetization, personally this video was a tad bit long for me but that's just me, nonetheless a very informative well paced video :)
Thank you so much! You just saved my grade
🔵“Intelligence is compression of information.” This is one of the most useful videos I believe I have ever watched on UA-cam.🔵
Happy you tubing. Best wishes.
Thank you!
Hi. I just found you and watched all 6 videos that are out until now and here is my input (not professional at all, I just started my own channel with 2 videos, 13 views on the first one - 6 minutes out of 38 and 0 views for the second one…): Number 1 was great and motivating. We want to follow you in your journey! Number 2 to 4 were very boring. You just read analytics and manage to repeat it 2-3 times. No real content. The make-up thing in #1 and #2 was weird… Number 5 was a bit more interesting, but kind of messy. A few more points: filming in your car is nice from time to time, but 3 videos in a row looks a bit like "let's do it while I have a few free minutes". Number 6 had a quality jump. At home, with real content even if it was partially analyzing someone else - it was relevant you learned some lessons from that. Much better videos. I think you can see these in the number of views. Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback!
I feel the same way about being on camera. It’s been really hard because the camera doesn’t provide the feedback talking to someone provides.
Totally agree!
Great stuff. Thank you for being so open 🙏 I’m on the road too so I’m happy I found your channel - it means small channels are continued to be shown on the home feed.
I too really felt everything you said just like @juliastafflersjourney.. enjoyed the full 5mins 28secs and thanks for introducing me to Jonna Jinton. Have subscribed to you both.. Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand,, keep up the great work
Thanks for the sub!
well I love the fact you are shooting film photos still.. I just subbed ...just keep uploading :) I too want to get my channel monetized, I need the watch hours!!
I've only just started uploading long videos and I feel that insecurity also. It's so hard and I hope I become more confident in front of the camera!
As a small and new youtuber myself I really felt everything you said 😊 you gained a new subscriber with me! Keep going!
@@juliastafflersjourney I’m a young/small channel too. I agree. It’s like she was reading my mind. Good luck with your channel!
Keep going Elizabeth! It's been almost a year for me, and I'm almost there. Few suggestions from my end- plan ahead and create an excel sheet with your topics and notes/ script; the more you'll automate the process, the easier it will get. All the best. Please know that we're in the same boat and there are many more people like us- guess, that's what the shared human condition is 🙂
Great keep it up, nice editing😍
You can throw away this advice, but if you have a strong topic, one that inspires you, and makes you want to dig and research, you'll find the energy to produce content. Do you belong to a group of other researchers in the same topic, that'll be a tremendous help. What you actually are is an independent journalist, and you have to find your 'beat,' or area of specialization. Anyway, for what it's worth...
Good Luck 😍 keep it up
Yes, not posting a video in a month is what affected your channel. Also, I know this sounds like it will be annoying, you need to say on every video, "Like, Share and Subscribe." I do not know why that works but it does. Another thing you need to do is set up a Facebook page dedicated to your channel (that is, not a personal FB Page but one for "celebrities"). Than you need to post the link in your YT Channel Description. On that FB Page, you will have to post your YT Videos. I Used to edit videos and host a YT Channel so I speak from experience (although my channel was never monitized. These were what I had to do in order to get views and increase the popularity of the channel). You need to post a video at least once a week, same day and time so your audience knows when to expect a new one. Best of luck to you!!!!
Thanks for this, I appreciate the advice!
Silver & Solo has encouraged many. She has a great channel. Great video, you are talking so naturally, I struggle with this.
Thank you! And keep at it!

Thank you!

Just found your channel. Great video! I totally understand what you mean at about the 8:00 mark. Thank you so much for sharing! 😀
I feel you on the motivation going down. My analytics went down too. It’s a bummer but I’m trying to focus on the enjoyment I get from making videos, even if barely anyone watches them 😂 You’re doing great though. Better than me!
Hey, don’t get discouraged! Hitting a wall is just part of the journey. Keep pushing forward! Your ideas for moving ahead sound fantastic. Batching videos has been a game-changer for my channel, so I highly recommend it. Can’t wait to see which niche you choose! 👍
Thank you
I had a long conversation with a former colleague when we worked in film production. He told me the Hollywood we knew is disappearing, and careers are being destroyed. Doesn't mean ppl don't wanna watch visual content, it means traditional; MSM is falling apart. Lot of it is moving to independent film makers and content creators. I'm wondering if you can cover some of the film festivals and film makers in your area. My buddy is doing that same thing in Fresno, CA, of all places. If you're interested, contact your county Film Commission, and see if they have a contact list of any film festivals and who would be submitting...
I love this idea, thanks!
@@elizabethdavis9588 My reply disappeared, but I wanted to follow up by saying a YT channel focusing on the future of MSM would be highly interesting. At least imo. You said you're an actress and doing stage work, so you may already have a lot of contacts and ppl you can interview. How filmmakers, writers, performers approach their work should be something a creative person would want to view. Anyway, best of luck to you. We're pulling for you....
Very interesting vid. I decided to become a STEM teacher bc they ALWAYS need STEM teachers, right?? I landed a decent teaching gig, and what we'd been told worked out. Well, it did, until it didn't. Didn't get my contract renewed, as did quite a few other teachers. A couple weeks later, my buddy called me, asking if I'd partner with him on an online marketing company he founded. I Sure did, and we did very well, mostly working with SoCal car dealerships. That is, until 2019, when sales began tanking. Things really fell apart during covid lockdowns. Came to find out when car makers say sales are way up, they don't say those cars are sold to DEALERSHIPS, not what's sold to the PUBLIC. It's called channel stuffing, and it's a scam to get the public to think the industry is doing better than reality. Our clients were in big trouble with all that worthless excess inventory. My partner and I lost the bulk of our contracts, and its been one short term gig after the other. Point is, nothing is stable anymore. Industries and careers we were told are stable and lucrative aren't any longer. We're now finding Big Tech was in a massive bubble, which is currently imploding. We're all gonna have to become hustlers and self starters, otherwise it ain't gonna work out well. I salute your candor and willingness to tell your audience the struggles your experiencing. All the best to you and your family...
My business partner bought his first camera from a pawn shop in Riverside, CA. Reason I bring that up is you'd be surprised what you can find in pawn shops even in smaller, rural locations. He also worked for Glamor Shots, and he was able to purchase some of his equipment from them when they were upgrading their inventory. I have no idea if they're even in business anymore, but it might be beneficial to create a relationship with portrait studios...
How is the ventilation in your bathroom, I'm worried about the fumes of the chemicals.

❤New sub ❤Good luck looking forward to see your growth. I'm going to start my channel starting September. And I'll be doing a zero to monatized. I'm leaving my job of 26 years. Want to make youtube my full-time job. I do have a job lineup. But I want to shift from trucking to youtube. So let use both Succeed. I'm cheering you on. What type of youtube channel Are you leaning towards?
Wow, you did trucking? That’s amazing!! I could never 😅 , my husband used to do it for 5 years and now does construction. I also drove around the US with him when we only had one kid 😊
@@Taylllinna I have been doing it for so long. I'm afraid I can't learn anything new. So since I'm starting a new job, I'm gonna start a new channel. And see if I can leave trucking, fully
@@ThePynnFoolLife good luck!

Thank you!
well done
Thank you!
I love these videos on getting monetized, and I have heard other creators talk about how the algorithm prefers these types of videos. I have considered starting a reading related channel. Or perhaps something faceless, since I am not completely comfortable with putting my image out there anymore than it already is.
Good progress 🙂Keep up the good work from another small UA-camr with similar goals as you
Loving the journey, Elizabeth! 🌟 Watching you go from zero to monetized is so inspiring! If you're aiming to hit 1,000 subscribers fast, I can help make it happen in just a few weeks. Let's connect and grow your channel together! 💪🚀
This was cute, but very abrupt, more like a short. ^_^ funny though and good message. Am enjoying watching your journey, plus you're really inspiring me to also stop making excuses and letting myself quit in this entrepreneurial maze. bestest luck to ya🥰
You're very spontaneous, natural on camera...and this is a very interesting content. I'm on s similar journey with videos of my painting process. Still sorting things out. Looking forward to seeing your progress, Elizabeth. Thanks for the video.
