★Don Giovanni (baritone)
A nobleman who loves women. According to the records of his valet Leporello, he has had relationships with about 2,000 women in various countries, including 1,003 in Spain. He calls himself a "carrier of love" regardless of age, status, or appearance. He is also skilled with the sword, and has even defeated the commander of the knights in a duel.
★Leporello (bass)
Giovanni's valet. He thinks he can't keep up with Don Giovanni, but he is gradually drawn to him by money and threats. Even from Don Giovanni's point of view, he is a married man with a beautiful wife, but he sometimes enjoys getting a share of Don Giovanni's "leftovers." He is set to look just like Don Giovanni (there is a scene where the two switch places).
★Donna Anna (soprano)
The commander's daughter and Ottavio's fiance. Don Giovanni sneaks into his room at night, and when he resists, his father comes running and is killed.
★Il Commendatore (Bass)
Anna's father. He is killed by Giovanni while trying to save his daughter, but as a stone statue he urges him to repent.
★Don Ottavio (Tenor)
Anna's fiancé. He tries to persuade Donna Anna to forget about revenge and marry him, but fails.
Donna Elvira (Soprano)
A woman from Burgos who was once seduced by Giovanni, engaged to be with him, but then abandoned. She chases Giovanni and tries to change his mind. She appears to have been a woman of rank, and is so elegant that even Donna Anna and the others are overwhelmed. She has a beautiful maid who makes Don Giovanni's mouth water.
★Zerlina (pronounced "Zerlina" in Italian) (soprano)
A village girl and Masetto's bride. She is coquettish and shrewd, unlike a country girl. During the wedding ceremony, Don Giovanni flirts with her and she becomes interested in him.
★Masetto (bass)
A farmer. Zerlina's groom. Jealous and frustrated by Zerlina's flirtatious behavior, he is ultimately dominated by her. He is a leader among the young people in the village.
