"Sharagan" is the Armenian word for "hymn", which holds a sacred place in the liturgical life of the Armenian Orthodox Church. The sacred music of the Armenian Orthodox Church embraces the unique spirit of its clergymen, who wrote and composed them since the beginning of the 5th century.
Through centuries "Sharagan" has become a tool in articulating faith, spirituality and the belief of the Armenian Orthodox Church. In this channel, of more than the 1800 "sharagans", you will find some of this beautiful and sacred music, in addition to some contemporary, or other melodies that are not incorporated in the hymnal. They all are so inspiring, that can build a relationship between us and the Divine.
Finally, all the music that you will come across, are not recorded in a studio or professionally. However, an effort has been made to present the best result possible.

this song came to me suddenly tonight after having forgotten it for nearly 2 decades. I started playing it on my guitar while we were doing praise and worship (in English), and I struggled to remember how I knew it. This is a particularly beautiful rendition, however this is also a very melancholy melody for delivering such a hopeful and beautiful message, the news of the birth of Jesus Christ.
