If there's so few of these fish here, you shouldn't be taking them. Especially when they're this small. Catch and release so they can get their numbers up.
Yes you're right..they were 2 small trout and gills were damage during the retrieve.....

No fish, sometimes snails!
@@Kayikapampangan I live to eat sea snail, black fresh water snail too. I’m going out on the second day of the opener and wonder what to do while the hoop net is soaking.
same here, we cook snails with papaya and soup in the province. 30-40 minutes wait is fast coz your view is Palos Verdes n its beautiful at night! Hope you get some. Good luck!@@Blueskies-h3e
@@Kayikapampangan Mu wife is Vietnamese and she likes the snail with a little fish sauce and lemon. I can’t wait to go out. Wondering if we’re going hooping netting at Dana Point or Cat. I hope it ain’t gonna be too cold lol.

I visited the Port O' Call since I was 9-years old. It's sad to see the state for which it is in today. But as usual, nothing great last forever, especially when you have greedy crooked politicians receiving under-the-table gifts (bribes) from developers to "improve" what was already great 🤨

You are correct that lobsters that are under 3 and 1/4 inch need to be thrown back but you can keep lobster over 5 inches in california
