Our story starts in Piemonte, where we met because of music. Together we became Sommeliers with the Italian School and after working for restaurants, we left for California. We spent 2 years between Sonoma County and Napa Valley, learning and experiencing the California wine business, then we moved back to Italy.
Oneonthehill is a wine&food community born out of our creativity and passion.
We travel, create content, meet winemakers, restauranteurs, live life with our own, very personal taste and style.
The Wine Club is a membership program, shipping our selection of artisanal, small-production wines worldwide. In Piemonte, we create personalized experiences like wine tours and private dinners.

Hi guys, congrats on the wonderful news! ❤❤❤ just wondering if to come to the physical location one has to be part of the membership club or if anyone can just pop in, if visiting Alba? Many thanks

@@pablovaleroroca9301 I’ve been to Valencia, nice city! What do your parents drink?
@@Oneonthehill Wine and beer mostly.
Germany here, we do enjoy our beer after work, or even a good glass of whiskey after sitting down and enjoying the evening.
@@shallyia4458 weekend or weekdays too?
@@Oneonthehill Depends on work days. But yeah, usually just during the week, after work. For weekends, it really depends on what you have planned. If you have a social get-together, it's most likely ending up with a couple beers.
@@shallyia4458 we mostly do a small glass of wine but I’m venturing out to local beers as well
Beer after work, wine with dinner and whiskey before bed. How many parents and grandparents dealt with drink only the latter it was cognac before bed.
In ireland you usually binge drink on weekends but some people would also drink midweek with dinner or at night
Is it all Guinness or wine too?
Honestly it is socially accepted in many countries in europe to have a drink on a regular day.. But in most of europe its not the cultural norm. Personally I don't drink alcohol at all because of personal preferences, but there's also a lot of recent science linking long term consumption of low amounts of alcohol and increased cortisol levels (stress hormone). I think that might explain the "fiery" temper of a lot of south europeans.
ahah that's an interesting research. There's another one connected to the diet in the blue zones, where people live longer than others, and moderate red wine consuptions seems to play a role there too.
@@Oneonthehillthats debunked, even smallest amounts of alcohol are pretty unhealthy. There are pretty solid studies on that.
@@TobiKcooks True! fortunately wine is not entirely made of alcohol. The theory may be nuanced and the blue zone thing is probably mostly related to the Mediterranean diet as a whole, which inevitably includes wine. The point we're making here is about the cultural approach to wine which we found to be very different while living abroad.
I have been to two out the three 5! Bravo 👏
Nice! Where have you been? You should check out the other ones you missed! Next time you’re in the area let us know! 😉
Now that's what you call alcoholism culture
No, it's culture that prevents alcoholism.
@@DenUitvreter Having alcohol every day, is about the worst thing you can do to your body.
@@johgu92 No. Having lots of alcohol at once is what is bad. Alcohol is also much worse drunk alone at home than the same quantity drunk socially. It's all just stats of correlations and it takes an awful lot of data and brilliant statisticians to reach the conclusion that one glass of wine a day is even the tiniest bit of health damaging.
Depends. Im from Lithuania (Northereastern-Eastern Europe) the only thing someone might drink through the week is beer, but it's not really common to drink regulary. More likely during the end of the work week like fridays, saturdays and sundays are also optional, but less so.
@@SmellYaLatter thanks for sharing🍷
Only on yhe weekend generally can barely finish a bottle between two
