As I watched the final minutes, I realized that Hitler didn't really escape justice for his crimes. His body was wracked with Parkinson's Disease and the very Russian Armies that he had proclaimed long before to be defeated, were about to take the capital of his "Aryan" people. In the end he was totally humiliated. Those few weeks in the bunker were likely the longest of his miserable life.

This Hitler's like a cartoon character or "Steven Berkoff as Sam Kinison as Hitler." However I can't see it as Steven's fault, he's a fine actor and much better than this. I'm guessing the producers and director wanted a nuts over-the-top Hitler and that's what Steven gave them. A gig's a gig and you don't argue with the men who sign the paychecks. And since this was filmed in the 1980s maybe the world wasn't ready for the nuanced Hitler that Bruno Ganz gave us anyway.
