    Around 7 years ago there were real cones on the mod 1 I took, easier to clip and fail.

  • @spinaway
    @spinaway Рік тому

    I bought some of the same cones, and took myself off to a massive carpark of a closed down mothercare, set up my cones at one end, well out of the way of anyone else should they come into the carpark, i was two minutes into the slalom when a car pulled in, she drove right around the carpark and stopped on top of my cones, and began fiddling with the sat nav, i waited patiently for her to move, but she then decided to get on her phone, i said would you mind moving over there so i can continue what i am doing, she said f off you c**t, you do not own this carpark, i said you had all that room and you still had to drive over my cones, she said, if i see you on the road i will knock you off your sh***y little bike, then proceeded to flatten the rest of my cones before driving off with her middle finger stuck in the air. I had to laugh at her stupidity.

    Hello mate, I’ve tried doing my CBT trying to do the figure of eight I can do the left-hand turn not the right and turn on. I’m not sure why that is I think it’s just fear of the bike falling over I’m just getting used to the clutch at this precise moment I was at BMW training centre training on a BMW 310 on 52 years of age my goal is to get my A license, and once I’ve done that to do adventure, riding and touring

    This is very helpful, I have my Mod 1 next week. I wasn't aware that you could 'tap' the floor, I thought any contact between your foot and the tarmac was an instant fail?

  • @omv6076

    All good.. but avoid wearing helmet with mirrored visor definitely no! no! especially for a test.

  • @hoodedr6
    @hoodedr6 Рік тому

    With the avoidance just come around and full send it, I did it at 40mph because you aren’t like tested and need to come straight back after the speed trigger. Just have to eventually make it back in the box.

  • @scrumpymanjack
    @scrumpymanjack Рік тому

    Going around the blue cone for the figure of eight is allowed everywhere, not just at Poole. Reason is that it’s classed as a separate exercise from the slalom, which means in practice that the blue cones aren’t there for the figure of eight exercise. It’s as if they didnt exist.

    • @ThePresidentofMars
      @ThePresidentofMars Рік тому

      If you were to hit a slalom cone while doing the figure of eight, do you reckon they'd still fail you.

    • @scrumpymanjack
      @scrumpymanjack Рік тому

      @@ThePresidentofMars lol. YES, they would definitely fail you. If you knock over (or even touch!) any cone anywhere in the area at any point during the test, you fail immediately.

    • @ThePresidentofMars
      @ThePresidentofMars Рік тому

      @scrumpymanjack i figured but on account of both tests being technically seperate i thought it was worth asking.

    • @scrumpymanjack
      @scrumpymanjack Рік тому

      @@ThePresidentofMars That's fair enough. But I think they even tell you at the start that you can't touch or knock over any comes at any point. My advice is to go to an empty car park with your 125 and practise the hell out of these manoeuvres with comes, sticks, stones or whatever you can find to act as obstacles. Thats what I did. Good luck.

    • @ThePresidentofMars
      @ThePresidentofMars Рік тому

      @scrumpymanjack thats what u plan to do. I was doing u turns but i wasnt sure if the distance was correct and doing a slalom/figure of 8 is pretty difficult without cones. Do you know where i might look for the correct distances of cones?

I have bought two vintage fixer-uppers and am about to start working on them soon, and once they're done they will stand proudly next to their " big sister" 😀. Love your video and will watch it over and over, so inspiring, and mesmerising. Fabulous.

    are there any dimensional differences between the WW1 and WW2 helmet shells? I have heard that the WW2 helmet rims were a couple of mm smaller, but don't know if this is true.

    A very unique presentation of an otherwise informative video on the history of the Pickelhaube. I was about 9 years old ( which would be about 53 years ago) when I spotted an original for sale. My Mother was not willing to spend $50.00 to purchase it. If I could only turn back the clock. Thanks Nick!

    Hi Nick, thoroughly enjoyed chatting to you today. Love the collection. The great Bader's signature! Don't let me near your house mate.... i'll have that, lol. Particularly enjoyed the exploits of Capt Buckley, how the hell did he make it back to his own lines carrying all the kit he'd "lifted"? lol. Nothing's changed mate, you're average British squaddy will still "tea leaf" any shiny object that isn't tied down. Oh, and i couldn't possibly leave without some criticism eh! Drill or not, it's a rifle Nick. The artillery have guns.... the rest of us have rifles. Discipline yourself immediately. Hope to meet you in the near future. All the best.
