I made this UA-cam channel so my favorite little people (my grandchildren who call me Poppy) can keep up with my travels.
I'm just an old guy out for a long walk, getting back in touch with my creator.

An evening cruise and swim on Smith Mountain Lake
Mimzy and Poppy get out on the boat for a few hours after work. We have a duck swim over to say hello and get a few bites of pizza crust. Mimzy was afraid it was an alligator coming over, but I told her there are no alligators in Virginia. Silly Mimzy!

Ramblings of an old man in a beautiful location. Today, I'm taking a few minutes to enjoy the James River Foot Bridge. Named in honor of Bill Foot, this bridge was completed in 2000.

It was a beautiful day in Colorado visiting an old gold mine. we even came away with a few flakes of gold when we did some panning at the end of the tour.

Just a few ramblings today from Poppy. I made this video for my grandchildren, but if you never had a grandpa to give you good advice I will be happy to share some with you. Hopefully these five minutes and 15 seconds will ease the pressure of becoming a doctor or a lawyer and give you confidence that you will be just fine if you can turn your passion into your profession and have a great life.

Key Kiddos! Today I take an old white oak timber from a 50 year old barn and get started making a fireplace mantel out of it. A bit of cutting, sanding and planing and we are moving along with the project. Take a Hike! - Poppy

January 1, 2024. I'm out picking up trash on my walk today. A lot of Bud Lights cans and other trash. 4 1/2 bags of trash to be exact. Hey #dylanmulvaney, encourage your Bud Light drinkers to pick up their trash. Kids, there is nothing cool about tossing your trash out the window. Find a trash can and do the right thing. Also, when you are out hiking or on the trail, always pack out your trash....

Poppy takes a few minutes in the shop to show you how easy it is to change your oil. With just a few tools, you can save yourself thousands of dollars and extend the life of your car by changing the oil yourself. Poppy has a 2011 Jeep Wrangler JK with almost 130,000 miles on it. Climb under the car with Poppy as he takes the mystery out of an oil change.
