Mercury Diesel 3.0L (2 x 175 h.p.). Florida, Duck Key.
awesome performing and looking machine
Супер!
Awesome sounding duo <3
Those mids are taking a beating
Cool
they sound sweet at hi rpm, in fact they sound like a pair of 2 strokes.
They are two strokes. ;)
@@Prototheria ok, the fact they were diesel I didn't know they fell into the 2 or 4 stroke motor label.
@@djs3484 Diesel two strokes aren't common at all. The only other two stroke diesel engines I can think of are Detroit Diesels, and their design goes back to 1934. I want to say that in the very early years of aviation, there was some experimental two stroke diesel airplane engines, but they never were very viable due to their weight.
Crazy good 👍
3.0 L Diesel and just 175 hp they must have huge torque, maybe 550 Nm?
Please provide model numbers and how to order. Some dealers don't even know this exist...
These are only sold to the government and defense contracts
@@SoFloCamejo no they are available, I just checked few months ago
@@CSJiGSaW08 on the used market though?
@@SoFloCamejo Yes, not new. I did find 2 other major brands that sell to consumers with turbos. One was overseas and the other I forgot where. The thing is they have 250+HP and the weight is ridiculous with diesel engines. At least this one from Mercury the power to weight ratio is awesome and they are not bulky
@@CSJiGSaW08 hell yeah, I’ve seen both the Cox’s and Oxe’s in person. Both are cool but ultra bulky and heavy. As for the opti, I know merc still makes them, but the only way to purchase new is if you have a government contract.
On a 33 footer, would you need triple x 175hp? or can the torque be enough with a 2 x175 setup.
Motores elétricos. . ??????
Sounds like a normal 2 stroke gasoline outboard
Why that filter on those shots?? C'mon man
How much are they? how many gph do they burn at wot? help a brother out here?
Fantastic! Way to go.
This 2 stroke make plenty of dark matter!
@@jlo13800 That's not good
@@anthonyxuereb792 The energy is so intense that mini black holes form! every lightning bolt is a plasma 2 stroke, but way to hot and energetic to channel into a 3.2l optimax. Joseph Papp invented a pulsed plasma 2 stroke with inject gas closed cycle tapping ZPE, he was ruthlessly suppressed for it. natures uses the 2 stroke cycle a lot, as every lightning strike will show you. My OMC small block v8 2 stroke aint to fussy on oil either, she did fine with shell rotella sae 40 cf-2 oil just fine! Now if have tried 3 gallons of BRP xd-100 in my 8v92 silver detroit with no ploblems!
@@jlo13800 Are you the Miller behind the Miller cycle engine?
@@anthonyxuereb792 No never heard of it. is that what this optimax is?
That's sick 😳😳
Cant wait to see 350hp
I guess it could do that, might a need a turbo though. i was thinking of an aluminum 7075 billet block this by CRT racing and make a 2 stroke diesel out of it with ductile iron liners!
Cox has a 300HP, its $50k ouch
Simple math, diesel fuel runs around a dollar or more less than ethanol free gas. Then throw in the increased efficiency of diesels. If they get this to work, and they don't overprice them, the diesels are a no brainer.
Not really sure there is an efficiency advantage to a spark-ignited Diesel though.
@@corystansbury no such thing as spark ignited diesel.
@@captjohn1124 You literally are commenting on a video about one.
@@captjohn1124 this is a dual stage w/ air injection at 75 psi,AND it is spark plug (ECU/spark timing) controlled; amazing, but it is what i read about it
@@josepeixoto3384 diesels are compression ignition. If it uses a spark plug it not compression ignition, it's spark ignition.
A capa do motor eh muito bonita, mas,véu queria ver o mph e rpm???
K
I have these Diesels on my Boat and Love them.....My only Complaint is the ROPE PULL STARTS.......🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Sure 👌
you can always push start them
how much were they
Those motors sound AWESOME!!!!!!
Wait 2-3 years the Diesel Tech will Seven Marine Tech with triple the MPG
triple the MPG....that much improvement..haha. Or you are full of shit, or this engine is very poor which needs improvement
